This is very sad but given the rate of the fire spreading there is more likely no warning in several areas given it is all mountain and the fire spreads faster going uphill.
If they won't let family get the 90 year old grandparents out then someone from fire or law enforcement needs to do that. Going up there with a loudspeaker to tell people to evacuate does nothing to help 90 y/o. Shame on them !
I hope somehow firefighters, or neighbors who are up the mountain getting ready to evacuate can help rescue neighbors pets. Material stuff can be replaced. Their lives cannot. I worked in the NorCal area in restoration and did volunteer with pet rescue after devastating fires a couple of years ago, and saw and heard things etched in my mind. Finding deceased or severely injured animals who tried to save themselves. I had to evacuate my home for a time too, and that included pets. I feel for those who want desperately to get their pets. What I will say to people is do NOT wait till the last minute...some do. If you have indoor/outdoor cats, bring them in, have their carriers ready. One of my kitties I named Behati was a fire cat. He was not claimed after the fire, so he is my family now. Have all lives taken care of first, then have all your documents together. Medications. Help your neighbors.
I guarantee you that I would find a way up to my home even if the road was blocked and the entire National Guard was there guarding the road. I would not let my pets, grandparents, and my stuff burn up just because some bureaucrat decided it was too risky for me.

In Glendora take the Glendora Mountain Rd. off of Sierra Madre, this later turns into Glendora Ridge Road, however this is an extremely winding road, a very long way around and will take several hours. I would also not attempt it at night. But at least it's another option, provided they haven't closed this road too.
I ended up on that road and had no idea I would need hours of fuel and that it is a 2 way road. Absolutely beautiful and nerve racking drive from Asuza to Mt. Baldy
