Great work Brendan ! Well explained, straight to the point. Already searching your channel for more !
A very well-throughout and well-explained video. Thank you for making this!

Hi Brendan. Good stuff! Think I'll need to watch a few times to get it all to stick ! Many thanks for sharing.
Totally, there is a lot of little features to remember with this tool!
You have great teaching skill man !!!
You are so underrated I am excited for your future videos !! 🤘🏻

Very useful 👍

tnx a lot! very big help!
No worries!
@@BrendanWilliamsTutorials bro, why my selection is semi rounded with blur when I entered 50 pixels, instead of square with blur around it?
Your explaining it very clearly. I don't knw y so minimum likes. I SUBCRIBED YOUR CHANNEL👍👍
Brilliant. Things I didn't know. You spoke at a good pace and had great transitions. So you're saying there is no way to adjust the size of the selection to say one extra pixel? I want to crop an image to 1920 by 720, but I can't seem to get to 720. It's either 719 or 721 :(
Okay, found it! You go to the Select > Transform Selection, then you can adjust the X and Y positioning and the Width and Height of the selected area. That would be a beneficial, I think to someone, in a future video if you also showed that!
could you tell me what adobe version are you using to go parallel with you. I like your way of teaching dear.
Wondering if there is a way to rotate a marquis selection. I was wanting to delete a bit of bleed from an outline but at about a 60 degree angle. I thought using a straight edge marquis would do the trick, but I cannot figure out how to rotate it once I created it. Maybe this is not possible?
Is it possible for me to turn the marquee tool diagonal/slant for selection?
I’m unable to move the selection through spacebar ,Please help me
👍👍👍👍❤❤
Wow, you are a great teacher, but the info wasn't what I was looking for! How do you make a selection that is rectangular with rounded edges?
You can’t with a marquee tool. You need to make a rectangle shape, round the edges of the shape, then command/control click the shape layer thumbnail to make a selection. Unfortunately thats the only way currently!
@@BrendanWilliamsTutorials much appreciated
QUESTION.... I don't know what I may have done, but my Marquee Tool selection is INVISIBLE. I can see the Marquee Tool in the tool bar, but when I click and drag over the image to select, I can't see the marquee box around the image.
Is there a way to fix that????
Thank you.
Make sure you don't click anywhere on the canvas while scaling it down. If you do, the system will think that your work is done so it fixed on that particular area.
A Basic example can be Illustrated in these two videos, where they explore the potentials of both tools side by side:
Photoshop marquee tool :

The Lasso polygonal tool:

Sorry, but not well-explained. For a newbie, the icons/tools are referenced very quickly without even showing where they are. Presentation is way to fast and assumes you know A LOT. I have no idea how you shrunk the photo to fit inside the marquee:(
me too I cant replicate it
@@ignacionepomucenojr.8425 Guys if your doubt hasn't cleared yet, I will explain how he scaled down the image into the selection.
To scale the whole image down in that selection you need to do the same process till he masked the image. There is a link between your image and mask you need to unlink by tapping on it. Now select the image and scale down by using control+t then you can shrink the whole image into that frame or selection.
Still Confused?????

My marquee tool lasso is black during click-and-drag operation. I don't know how it got changed. Probably some stupid key command. How do I change it back to a dotted black/white selection lasso?
