    Mechanical Engineer here (also local to you Matthew): you are 1000% correct. To add to this for those that care. Like Matthew said as you compress more air (what a turbo / super / pro charger do) you naturally heat up the air because of *ideal gas laws*. Essential the volume of cylinder / air intake doesn’t change but the pressure & number of molecules does (positive correlation). This also means since you have more pressure (aka boost pressure; not sure what it is on the bike but say 5-10 psi). Because you have more molecules (more pressure) in the same amount of volume (air intake / cylinder) you will have warmer air. It’s basic thermodynamics. This also is misleading because warmer air is less dense than colder air. So the 5-10 psi of boost with no intercooler is significantly less efficient than 5-10 psi with an intercooler. With an intercooler you can potentially add more boost due to the temps being cool enough and if your gaskets/ cylinders / engine internals can take it.
    It inherently makes no sense that “colder means faster / more hp”. It can also work if you cool the fuel which cools the air in the cylinder or on some drag cars, they will put bags of ice on their air intake to help cool the air / fuel entering the cylinder. The colder the air is, the more dense it is. The more dense it is the more oxygen and the bigger the boom = more power.

      For those who don't understand. I'll make a dumbed down version.
      The engine becomes hot when going fast because of friction. The supercharger takes in hot air that is around the engine and gives it back to the engine to make it go faster. This then means that the engine becomes even hotter.
      Let's say it's a hot day. You need an AC not a fan because a fan will just blow warm and hot air onto you.

    I was about to buy a H2 - UNTIL the guy at the dealer said DO NOT buy it.
    WHY? The main thing he said is because of the maintainance cost. MAINLY getting the supercharger maintananced every 4-6k which cost about $1500-$2000
    Well F--- THAT
    They said most dealers never let the buyer know this.

    - It’s called an Intake Air Temperature. Not “second coolant”.
    - H2 has a IAT fail safe built into the software.
    - only the Extreme Creation intercoolers are $4K. Yagerwerx builds a cheaper intercooler.
    - swapping the exhaust without flashing the ECU can cause a lean cylinder conditions. Adding hot intake air to an already lean cylinder can send it over the edge.
    - The H2 is much safer than most people think if you aren’t abusing it. Rev bombing/ bouncing it off the limiter.

    • @parkappanigga
      @parkappanigga 2 місяці тому +1

      It's a dream for many people because the only thing they see is the raw specs. And unlike the Hayabusa, it actually looks good. Once you actually ride on it, you notice the faults. And having it overheat as soon as you push it, is a big turn off for anyone who wants this exact type of bike. You simply wouldn't get an H2 if you aren't planing on going 200mph.
      That's why so many people love the "normal" liter bikes (i.e. fireblade, s1kRR, zx10r and panigale v4), they're still fast, but won't overheat, are more reliable, can actually corner properly and weigh a lot less, which makes normal riding way more chill with them.
      I still find it quite stupid that so many people in the US want liter bikes, they're simply too fast for anything. Rip on the throttle for 5 seconds and you're already going triple the speedlimit. 600cc's are plenty

      @@parkappaniggaI think people over-exaggerate 1000’s to some degree. Yeah they’re fast, especially once ecu-flashed, but it’s not like you just barely hit the gas and loop the bike or go into warp drive. If I’m gonna be on a multi-lane highway with traffic traveling at and above the speed limit I’d much rather be on a 1000 than a 600. Don’t have to shift as much, power available on tap, effortless cruising at highway speeds, and you can leave traffic in the dust at any time if you want or need to. A lot people talk about twisties, but where I live there’s some hills and twisty roads here and there but for the most part it’s wide open and very flat. Straightaways that go for miles. A 1000 only goes as fast as you tell it to. I’ve had a 650, a zx6r, and my current ecu-flashed Brock’s exhaust GSXR 1000R. I enjoyed my first two bikes but my 1000 has the power I was always after. I’ve wondered what even more power feels like. To each their own.

    • @parkappanigga
      @parkappanigga 4 дні тому

      @@screennamenottaken2 1000ers are boring. You literally don't have to shift when you're driving in the city. First gear goes to like 100kmh and doesn't even hit the redline. Then in twisties, you won't be able to throttle through a whole gear without being way too fast for the next turn.
      They are faster, yes, but they're also more boring. The only reason the zx4rr exists is so people can fully go through each gear, hearing the engine scream and still not go 300kmh within 10 seconds.
      They're overhyped, 600cc is plenty and even a 400er can be faster than a liter bike if you know what you're doing. Going straight is easy, everyone can do that.

  • @LilRebell57

    People who cannot comprehend the concept that just because your coolant temp is okay doesn’t mean that your vehicle is running safely should NOT be allowed to have high performance vehicles. High performance vehicles demand highly competent drivers both in driving capability and mechanical understanding..
    That kind of a response to you complaining about high intake temps under boost sounds to me like they are lacking in the understanding aspect..

    I have yager works intercooler for mine. Have not installed it yet to it not fitting on a 24. Mine is tuned , stage one blower gears, air filter, vandemon,blowoff and clutch springs.
    It made 250’s in the dyno.
    I’ve noticed as long as you give it a moment to cool off on the highways it’s fine. I’ve only hit 200 once and that was a hard rip on the highway. I’m not sure where you can ride full throttle for min’s at a time. I’m at 200 in like 15 seconds for 90. So I’m not sure how your doing such high speed stuff.
    Cool weather definitely helps, I was out last week it was 52 and it was running 135 boost side and no more than 185 or so. Today it was 100, and I was in the 180’-190’s while ripping on it. When this winter hits I’m sending my plenum off the 24 to yager to have it fitted with a core. But if anyone needs a 18 and below intercooler o would love to sell it.
    They changed the plenum in 19.
