Last month I received my SS on saturday the first of June but was scheduled on the 3rd of june. . ANy chance they will send it july 1st tomorrow since the 4th is a huge holiday. Get the money out early for americans?

Age 14 I began working every summer, but social security wasn't taken out. I am near 70 now, have worked since I was 14, and I get less than 700 a month for SSI.

You are confusing legalese with common usage English. You paid taxes, not invested in a retirement fund. It is a benefit by definition according to the language government speaks, which isn’t what us common folk speak. Being unhappy with the wording isn’t going to change anything. IMO.
There are migrant senior citizens who never worked here( did Not Pay payroll taxes) but still collect social security benefits. How and why?

I'm disabled and on full SSI as soon as I reached the age of 66....I'm 71 and still working part time to survive. I will probably pass away before I can quit working...voting smarter next election!!!

There's no good reason everyone can't be paid on the 3rd of the month with computers there should not be a reason it's hard to go 5 weeks between payments congress should do something about this
They cheat us out of at least a whole check when we don’t get checks for five weeks, and I get less than 750per month, it’s a shame - they want to starve us out

Luckily, my spouse and I were able to pay off our mortgage early. We took the money we were spending to accelerate our mortgage repayment and invested it right away while we were both still working. We were able to retire early after accumulating what would have been our home payment for over 7 years and maxing out our 401K/403B plans. Thankfully, both of our parents taught in us the importance of living within our means

Not necessarily accurate....In 2016 I received SSDI & received my monthly payment on the 3thd of each month. When I reached full retirement age, 66, I was taken out of SSDI category and was under SSI Retirement... My payment date has never changed it is still the 3thd of the month ...my birth date is the 19th of the month.

Both I, and wife, receive our SS on third Wednesday. Of course, it's GONE by second Monday of same month!! Thanks to INFLATION/HIGH GAS PRICES/CURRENT REGIME GOVERNMENT/ INSURANCE/TAXES/and banking auto-deductions!!!

My sister gets paid on the 1st she got her pay on Saturday...i get paid on the 3rd and am still waiting with todays technology everyone should get paid the same day i never get mine before the 3rd no fair the system needs to change these 5 week months are very hard to get through...

If I understood this, I won't receive my payment on the 3rd, but on the fourth Wednesday. I wonder why I did not know this until today. Well, I will know by tomorrow.

@@humboldthammer I get my SS on the 4th Wednesday because my birthday is the last day of the month. I understand the 1st payments and the 3rd payments are either when you started or maybe the type. I don’t understand why he put this out because I haven’t seen anything in it that changed. Hopefully yours stayed the same. And since today is the 5th you should know by now. Also for me I changed from having mine go to the direct express card into a bank account. So ever since I did that my SS goes into that bank the Saturday before the 4th Wednesday and says it’s available. It is but I’m still careful.

@@humboldthammer yes. It is. But when I used a bank before I started using that card it was the Wednesday. Then I switched back to a bank and it was a shock to see it going in on Saturday.

My daughter put in 4 disability she has multiple scorosis muscalar dystrophy and crones disease and she got turned down put in 4 it 6 times also had 6 mini strokes when some put in 4 it and has nothing wrong with them and they get it
I'm more fortunate than most, I broke my neck at 55 and went from workers comp. disability to Social security...somehow none of my concerns are based on money. Like I said, I'm truly blessed.
I was first on SSDI and then it converted to SSIncome when I turned 65. I’ve been on this since 2001. This video makes no sense to me. I get it on the third of every month since turning 65. My birthday is the 12th! I don’t get it. I would check with the Social Security Administration!

Makes perfect sense to me, my hubby gets his SS Retirement around the 1st of the month direct deposit, his bday is the 28th, I get my SS Retirement around the 15th of the month, my bday is the 11th
I get so sick people saying scissors an entitlement like hell it is we pay into ss every paycheck so it's not a benefit or entitlement. It is what we paid for all our working life

I just started collecting my Social Security Retirement pay and I always wondered why I would get paid so LATE in the Month which is the 4 Week which is rather harsh if you ask me. Bills are NEVER due that late in the month. It is because I was born on the 31st. With Modern Technology and computers in the Government and banking systems I do not see the need for this anymore.
YOU CAN CALL AND OFTEN CHANGE THE DUE-DATE OF MOST ANY BILL YOU OWE…….SIMPLY EXPLAIN AND SHARE THE ((DATE)) YOUR SET RETIREMENT INCOME DATE….THEY ARE OFTEN WILLING TO ACCOMMODATE YOU….WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE BY CALLING ? NOTHING

Not everyone has bills due at the same time, and not all companies/cooperations are willing to change due dates.
I get paid the 4th Wednesday, but I also get VA Disability. I'm lucky to be able to manage my due dates. Not everyone else has the same situation.
Lighten up a little. The OP may not have the luxury of changing due dates. Calling and asking may or may not work. It's worth a try though.

More peace of mind if you can get one month ahead somehow that way you Social Security payment will be for your bills the following month. Much less stressful after that first time getting to that point.

i get the different dates for payments but the way it was done can make some people out of money it should have meen a date not day of the month since the weeks vary by almost week early in july then late in august for 3 wed could leave people unable to buy food or pay a bill on time
I get where you're coming from. The varying payment dates based on the day of the week can definitely cause some challenges with budgeting.
I've been working since the age of 14, and I'm close to seventy now. I have an associate who has never worked. She plays at having mental issues and gets 2000 a month, I get less than 800.
I am one those that get paid my Social security on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. It sucks, btw. Many creditors expect their payments on the first of the month. I can't tell you how many times I have had to explain to the creditor how my payments affect them getting their payment from me. Paying rent is especially ridiculous as the land lord expect the rent due on the first, and I have to tell them month after month how I get paid before they can get their rent. I have to negotiate my payment days to them after explaining when I get paid. It's a real PIA! I manage though. But I have had to do this so many times I've lost count, and I've been getting SS for the last seven years. I will say this, direct deposit helps somewhat and is safer and reliable.
wait I can get both ssi and ssa? I was told one or the othef, so I had to take early retirement which means less over my long term oayments of ssi. 😢

Seems like the dates for the 3rd doesnt make sense. My husband got it on the 3rd. Hus disability started 2011. It says 1997. My daughters SSDI-DAC gets it on the 3rd & she was proven disabled 2022. It seems like SS just enters whatever date they feel like it.
Yes, I’m confused now. I applied for disability in 2012-2013, remember you have to file several times. Was approved in 2013. My payments arrived on the 3rd each month using direct deposit. When I did turn 65 my payment amount increased a small amount, still arrived on the 3rd. I did set up my finances and I use the direct deductions for several of my monthly payments, obligations! By using this service I don’t worry about late fees.
If my direct deposit date changes, I will not be able to pay any of my bills and will become subject to losing my lease and the place that I live. I’m confused and angry that SSI can change the payment date WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME!!!!!! I pray this does not apply to me!!!!

You must have these errors corrected with supporting documents. I got my SSA award corrected at least 5 times already. I’m 76 and work full time so my checks must be adjusted annually. I work with older people and find that detrimental errors were made by SSA workers affecting their income.
If you get Medicade from your home state it will pay on the 3rd.
I am confused as some say they get theirs on the 3rd regardless of their birthdate and started SSDI in the 2000’s.
I have been on SSDI since 2011 and get it by direct deposit on the 3rd Wednesday each month as my birthday is the 18th.

.. I guess it all depends on where you are living at.. now I can guarantee if I ever move out of Arkansas.. I will be losing at least one of them.. I will probably lose the Widow's pension.. I live in a camper because I can't afford anything.. not even with both of them.. they only give me $950 and that's for both of them.. the rent around here starts at 600 and goes up from there..I have seen up to 3,000 for a apartment.. not only do you have to pay rent around here you have to pay your own gas bill electric bill water bill and Sewer nothing is included around here.. if anything happens to the property owner my rump roast is homeless again.. handicapped and homeless ..not a good combination especially being a woman.. thousands of thoughts go through my mind rape is just one of them.. I'm going to be 58 in November.. I know that doesn't seem all that old but.. I already have severe arthritis.. I can't run away from people.. I can't get away from people that's going to want to hurt me..

So how do we keep the Government, Congress and Senators, from add more reciprocates to the system. I hear rumors that people coming across our border at the age of 65 that never worked in this country are receiving a check.
It said my direct deposit was coming today but nothing came it usually updates after I receive my payment to let me know when the next one comes but it says tmr and I never received it on a weekend I don’t even think it possible anyone know why?

Because most people didn't get paid every 5 weeks during their working days & SS payments are paid that way 4 times a year, is there any way to get that changed ? While my meds aren't like some folks time-wise, I can imagine the stress some have since meds are usually 30, 60 or 90 days...not 35 or 37 days or that idea. Some citizens are stuck in quite a fix with such a strange payment schedule.

Explain to me why you add confusion to the ss payment schedule. When my ss payments started they told me it would be the 4th Wednesday of each month, and that's what it has been. I can see months that have 5 Wednesdays and still know my payment gets deposited on the 4th Wednesday. It doesn't change. Do other people experience changes in their payment schedule based on the number of Wednesdays in the month?

The Dept. of the Treasury is garnishing my SS. They never informed me, there was no judgment lien. They are collecting money for Dept. of Children and Families in FL saying I was overpaid by two months using EBT. That was 13 years ago. Is that legal? Can I appeal. The money is not being paid back to DCF without high interest and fees attached so the balance never goes down.
My parents always told me that being black I would always have roadblocks put in my way. And with that said they said this. It’s not the roadblock that causes you problems but how you deal with it. My social security can come at any time of month it won’t hurt me as long as I manage my money right.
So now my payments are changing from the 1st Wed if the month to the end of the month. So I can expect a ton of overdrafts from my bank. Great, that will eat up my whole check, no food for me or my dog or gas. Thanks!

It is a benefit. When you worked when younger You paided for people that were retired or disabled. When you retired the people working are paiding your SS or SSI
What about SS D? Fries that stay the same? II recently got a new card and it said I have Medicare B, I never signed up for B, I have my husband's insurance through his employer and only Hosp due to disability. Is it possible that due to my recent hospitalization, the hospital signed me up for that part of Medicare? I was in hosp. for about s month and then 1'2 mos. In rehabilitation. Thanks for your help.

Why has Social Security stopped paying me since January? Nothing on my end changed in any way. But my payment early January for December was the last I’ve received. So far all letters and communication has been ignored, is this a political thing?
