As someone who’s taken fashion history, Ned’s grunge look is actually how grunge clothes were made! Experimenting, drawing things on, glueing, cutting. Eugene’s creations are always gorgeous but Ned actually nailed his theme 👌🏼

Eugene's looks the most high-concept but honestly? Ned's work was INCREDIBLE! Dude created his own pattern and it looked amazing! He punched individual eyelets, laced, used boning, layers, embelishments... He did a lot right there. I'm amazed. He had a theme and never once had doubts about it. The craftsmanship, the dedication. My man was robbed!

Ned did a corset by hand. He should have won. The front and more specifically the neckline of Eugene's isn't great. For 3 hours ned did leaps and bounds better than anyone.
He had so many manual embellishments that were unique compared to just sewing fabric together. He really should have won and I feel like they gave it to Eugene for the principle which is fine! But Ned I see you and your work boo

I felt so bad for Ned! I thought he had a shot at the prize but then Eugene went out with that dress. But Ned’s effort and attention to detail for someone who isn’t into crafting is really commendable.

tbh I'm thinking the only reason Ned lost is because of his body type-- but Eugene's was really good aesthetically, I won't shame Eugene. Ned did a bit more above and beyond in design, though. More effort and definitely more pieces to it.

@@Sarawarawara- I think that in fashion design, one of the most important things is that in this case, they're making dresses with a specific person in mind, which is what I loved about Eugenes, it was made with the model in mind, I think ned, whilst the dress involved a higher level of skill, was not made in a way that it enhanced the model. Which I think is a very fair point to judge on
As someone who has been sewing for years, very impressive. Coming up with and executing a dress in 3 hrs when you have no clue what your doing is crazy.

Conceptually, I love Kelsey’s dress the most. The execution wasn’t all there, but I would absolutely where a polished version of that, it was actually amazing

I feel like Ned DEFINITELY had the best construction. Creativity wise, he was neck and neck with Eugene....but, Eugene's dress was more wearable and would appeal to a larger demographic. I think that's why he won.

@@Octayvia21 I think Eugene would have been the clear winner if he just used a different fabric for the hood. For me, Eugene’s dress was too one note and the hood and layers really got lost in the single fabric. Ned’s had way more going for it.

As a fashion design student, I'm so impressed with Ned! He did a corset look with boning with grommets, like that takes a long time. He also did so well in sewing because he flipped it and the seam on the waist looked good. He did a layering with a chiffon on top of a plaid fabric. He was so creative with the accessories and made a print on the fly. That was all in 3 hours which is mind blowing! So proud of Ned!

Honeslty sleeves are hard. I give massive credit to Zach for giving them a go.
They did Zach dirty too tbh - besides making a dress in 3 hours being amazing, he worked hard, worked well, made impressively good, sane and pretty design decisions, and problem-solved on his feet.
The only thing was that the shape and details looked awkward - which, yeah, it was his first time lmao.
And his use of hot glue was judged even though Kelsey's wasn't and even though it's the same thing as double sided tape - which is glue.

I disagree. In Without a recipe he has more experience baking/cooking and still does the most boring, most basic things knowing creativity is always part of the judging. He got mad he couldn’t use floor dough in one episode and he tried digging through the trash to fish out his cookie batter in another one for crying out loud As for this challenge. Hammering grommets isn’t hard, I don’t sew and can do it and using double sided tape is no different than using hot glue. His dress was ugly (which goth/rock is my normal aesthetic) and ill fitting. It might have been better if he’d actually done the pleats because when he explained his concept I thought the idea was great but the execution just wasn’t it. I actually thought the girls dress was cuter and Eugene’s dress looked stunning on him and was a much better fit. I actually think Ned does better than he should in the majority of the competitions.

Cut, color, comfort. Zach was the only one who considered fabric color to his complexion & cut to his straight body lines (emphasizing the A line & straight edge collar). 8/10

I think the big thing was Eugene's dress fit him better. Ned was kind of busting out of his. I agree 100% if say Kelsey had modeled Ned's dress it could've won, but I think Ned's downfall was he just didn't make it big enough for him.

I also think a big problem was the waistline too, it was for me at least.

Guys, when you're making clothes, if you have one of those fabric models just take the fabric and start pinning it straight on and folding to get the look you want. You can get so far with your design just by doing that and once you have everything pinned and folded on the model to your liking take it off with all the pins in it and just start sewing. You'll get so much farther so much faster.
The fabric models here are not the same size as they are

The way both Ned and Eugene's dress is so pretty. But as a person who had no experience in sewing, AND STILL made a corset for myself (crying and struggling longer than Ned did) with youtube's help, seeing Ned's corset made my jaw drop.

I'm so impressed with Ned's dress. It really came out the way he envisioned. So much respect to Ned for always growing and trying. I really feel like Ned's such an underdog in the Try Guys and I love seeing him in every episode.

Eugene just added a hood, they wherw saying that the hood and so much creativity but you cannot even see it bc its all in 1 color, and i couldn't even find the form of it. Ned DEFINITELY should of had the win.

yeah, i was pretty disappointed. Eugene made something really cool and creative, and it looked good. But Ned made something really inspired and personal and pulled off some advanced construction that no one expected from him. I really feel like Ned put his all into it, and it paid off. Eugene's was versatile and gorgeous, but I feel like Ned pulled off his exact vision. Eugene added the cape/hood last moment, and that is what cinched his win. Ned had a complete idea from beginning to end and he did it well, with almost no compromises. I think Ned was the real winner here.
