- Watch UW Ri3D, the world's largest Ri3D team, recap their third day of building a FIRST DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE competition robot in just 3 days!
With 30 students at the University of Waterloo, we inspire FIRST Robotics Competition teams around the world by building a robot in 3 days. For 72 hours, we investigate the FIRST challenge, prepare a design, manufacture a chassis, wire electromechanical systems, and program an entire FRC robot - 40 days before bag and tag.

That chain tensioning makes me want to fall asleep for a long time
What psi is your ball?
Was that platform the correct height?
It was! We ignored building the level 1 HAB, so that platform is the height from the level 1 HAB to the level 2 HAB. We were able to do this because we confirmed our wheels would let us simply climb the level 1 HAB
Was the robot coded in C?
What did you attach at the ends of the pneumatic rods on the hatch mechanism to hit the hatches off your velcro?
We 3D printed a circular end cap that fits over the end of the pneumatic piston and is screwed in with the nuts included with the actuators.
@@juliancuralli4421 Thank you for the reply!
What is the gear ratio on the pivot arm?
The hatch mechanism is powered by 2 775Pro motors each with 100:1 reduction!
@@juliancuralli4421 Sorry, I meant the cargo mechanism
@@annabellep9147 No worries! The cargo mechanism pivot was powered by a 775Pro with a 100:1 gearbox along with a 2:1 gear reduction for a total of 200:1.
4:24 who is that cute guy?
Me
I mean this is cool but wait till you see what UOIT's Ri3D has done. xoxo peace and love
Not impressed
