Thank you for your clear but challenging presentation of the Church's level (or lack thereof) of obedience and discernment to the Great Comission. Even six years later, I doubt that the heart-breaking statistical reality is much altered.
The Awakening, the missions organization I work for, often uses this videos to educate people about missions and unreached people groups! Great resource!
Amazing video and powerful and challenging stats for the church. GOD bless you guys and will be praying for you to keep educating and inspiring the church to finish the task 😊🎉🙏🏻💙
Being a missionary is a great responsibility! A missionary must have great energy, fortitude, and courage. Wherever the missionary goes, no matter what part of the world he is in, he must spread the Word. Locals must understand what the missionary is telling them. The missionary must get the Word right! Therefore, every missionary must know the language of the local people! To everyone who is on a mission or preparing for one, I would like to recommend a very good workshop written by Yury Ivantsiv Polyglot Notes: Practical tips for learning foreign language. This wonderful book will give you answers how to properly learn a foreign language with a minimum of your time and effort. This book provides answers to many of the questions that everyone faces when learning a language. I wish you good luck in your important work!
Thank you for translating into spanish! it will make great impact in our community to be able to understand the need and respond to the great commission.

Wonderful Video! It gives me such hope for the state of world missions that there are Christians like you guys bringing attention to the unfinished task. I pray that our Lord Jesus would place this upon all our hearts. Give and send, or go.
Amen. So true that 29% of the world has not "heard the gospel." What about amount of people who have never "seen the gospel" lived out in people who really believe it. People no don't wrestle against flesh and blood. As we support global missions, let's hit two birds with one stone; not only let people hear the gospel but see it in our lives here and now in our neighborhoods and workplaces and family parties.

We would like to make this same video into Spanish. The Latinos Spanish speaker church need this information. Let me know what do I need to getting into Spanish.
Thank you so much for this video! It has greatly served in my missions journey as an effective mobilization tool for the advancement of the gospel and the need to raise goers and financial partners across the globe. Question, this video was done 6 years ago, is there by any chance that there might be a need for updating the content of the video? Considering emerging global missional movements and many frontier workers rising from formal and non-formal missions agencies (including non-western regions). Could there be a transition in the statistics not only for the giving, but the workers/labourers themselves or has the % hardly shifted? (Curious) If possible, can you consider looking into making a new video update? Thank you!
We are hoping to have a new, updated version up by the end of the year. Unfortunately, the numbers we are getting from Gordon Conwell seminary show very small changes. We're still looking at about 420,000 missionaries in the world with still about the same amount going to the unreached even with more global south laborers being raised up, etc. But we are praying that there will be a tipping point at some point. Hopefully these numbers are underrepresenting a lot of what is happening around the world that isn't documented as well. We'll try to keep people updated with the data, research, and numbers that seem to be the most accurate as they are available to us. I;m glad this video has been helpful in your mobilization efforts.
Greeting from Thailand. Your information is provide a very true. I have iniquiry about this clip permission if I like to download and translation in my language? Looking forward to your reply. God bless.
Just wondering where support missionaries fit in this statistic? There are a lot of missionaries that support tribal missions but they are technically living and working in World B or C, but their work is to support the people (through training, administration, communications, leadership,...) that are going to world A. I've heard missions agencies talk about needing something like 20 support missionaries at home to keep one tribal missionary in the tribe. Where were those people counted in this statistic?
That is a great point and a good question for clarification. You would have to contact Gordon Conwell Seminary and their Global Research Department as that is where we got our numbers. I'm guessing that they would consider support staff as world C missionaries since they are not directing in World A ministering, but that is just speculation. www.gordonconwell.edu/ockenga/research/Resources-and-Downloads.cfm
I have a question! What about hose who were from world C. But have now identified themselves as non-christian? Not just Atheists but those who have converted to other beliefs too.
I am the CEO of a missions organization called Global Seed Planters. Would you grant me permission to share this video on our FB page with credit given to you?
Hi Valeria: Grace to you !!! Keep in mind that your Vision and Passion may not be shared by everyone in your church, but don't be discouraged by that. Move forward, even if you go alone for a time. Remember there were less than 10 people near the Cross when Jesus was dying. Of ALL His 'followers', only the True Ones remained nearby. God is your Source for all things !!! Maranatha.
Hi, How can I translate the video to Czech language? It's very galvanising and won't leave a zealous Christian without a response tother Comission of our Lord.
I just want to know where did you get these information? Nowadays, I am finding about official statistics about unreached people group in the world, but could not find it. If you have any information about it, can you give me any website address? I found joshua project but it seems that it does not updated well. Also, I want to know about how people get those statistics about unreached people group. I mean methodology.
Unfortunately, we only have subtitles for this video right now. If you click on the settings and captions section (cc), you can put it on Spanish. Hopefully, we will get someone to do the audio and change the text to Spanish for us at some point.
We are hoping to release a new state of the world video soon. They say about 10% of the world is "born again" Christian, 20% nominal Christian, and yes a population of about 8 billion. The percentage of missionaries going to the unreached is now estimated at 4% with still only 1% of the missions finances going to the unreached.
I don't get the part where they say some Will Never hear the word of Jesus ,Section A. The bible says that Jesus will not return UNTIL EVERYONE has heard the word of God,at least once,so how can they say that in the world A section.
That's kinda the point of the video. People need to go into all of the world and tell people about Jesus, especially in World A where they have never heard the Gospel yet. "This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations and then the end will come." Mt 24:14
They mean that people will never hear the gospel through a relational or culturally relevant channel. The essence of the gospel is relationship, not information. That is why Jesus said go (geographically, in person). When we change "go" to "pass it on" we change the essence of the gospel from relationship into information that is powerless to transform lives.
It says: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” It says that the gospel will go to all nations and peoples (corporately not individually) so that every nation and culture has been touched by the good news. It doesn’t mean that every single person will hear it, or that every nation in every generation will hear it, we know that isn’t true. But all the major translations use a similar phrasing as above. See Bible parallel- biblehub.com/matthew/24-14.htm
The statistics from these videos came from the Department of Global Research at Gordon Conwell Seminary and they include countries like Yemen, Libya, Saudia Arabia, Somalia, Bhutan, etc. in World A.
I’m a missionary in “C” and would like to speak to why this is a little misleading. I raise our own ministry funds thanks to a team of generous ministry partners. According to this video, that doesn’t seem ver strategic bc I’m going to go work with athletes and coaches in a completely reached state/country/people group. But what’s not factored in are those of us that are mobilizers. Just this year we launched 3 former students to u reached peoples in Middle East. We’re influencing China, Jordan, South Africa, Palestinians, North Africa and many many campuses across the U.S. so, in short, your dollars going to world C could be impacting world A. You as a generous giver need to be strategic. We ask this question to everyone who asks us to join their team “How is your ministry here going to impact the guy in a tiki hut on an island in the Pacific Ocean?” They better have a biblical answer showing the Great Commission in effect.
Hey there, thank you so much for your thoughtful response. We agree - strategically using resources to train, mobilize, and send missionaries to campuses and countries around the world is an incredible use of those assets, and there are ample opportunities for that in World C nations, like the US. We're really excited to hear that you've seen fruitful ministry, and we are praying for more to come! Thank you for all you do for the Kingdom, and for offering this helpful insight on the way these numbers were portrayed.
Just curious, how are you calculating this two billion with no access? Do you mean they simply don't have access in their heart language? Anyone with a computer has access, and many people speak multiple languages. As one who is a pastor in France, I know that many people who would be considered in Group A move here and other countries in Europe. We have a ministry to unreached peoples, yet this video would put us in group C (and perhaps is discouraging giving to ministries like ours). I certainly respect the heart behind this video, but I think there is a way to encourage global missions without discouraging the missions going on to groups a and b. Those are also very important. I was part of a church plant in Paris (group C) amongst people who migrated here from India who were Punjabi (group C). So, we reached unreached people groups with money that was going to group C.
Although there are tiny small pockets of "unreached" people in worlds A and C, the overall percentage is minimal compared to World C. Large parts of Africa and Asia have less than 40% internet penetration so just because someone has a computer in no way does it mean they have access to the Gospel. A large part of World A people are "oral-preferenced" communicators so written language means very little in these parts of the world.
You know, with the world becoming so interconnected, it is becoming harder and harder to define "unreached." There are people who are going from their home country to other countries in search of a better life for themselves and therefore take on a new identity and have greater access to another part of the globe with its privileges. That being said, a disproportionate amount of money is going to people who already have Bibles and churches in their people group and in their language. Some of these people are unreached for the simple fact that people are really not going to reach them. The access is not there because people are not making a decision to go to the people that need it. (See Matt. 28:18-20, Rom. 15:20, Rom. 1:16-17) Maybe there are small pockets of people who are moving but by and large the issue is people not going. I understand why. It is dangerous and unsafe. Most of the places that are unreached are unreached for a reason. They persecute Christians or outlaw Christian practices to some degree. This is a reality but does not change the facts. People will continue to stay unreached until Christians are willing to go to them. I applaud you for going to begin to reach out to the Punjabi people who were near you. That is a large group of people who need the gospel and every one of them matters. I hope that some of the people you ministered to will feel a burden to go back to India and preach the Good News. Continue to run the race well. Fight hard for the souls of people. But please, I beg you, don't try to water down the reality of where we are in history. Large amounts of people are unsaved and there is a disproportionate amount of funds and people attending to that need. Please pray for the Lord to raise up people to send out. Maybe you could be one of them, if you read this comment. It was posted a while after you mentioned something.
You are right. Missions used to be considered "from the West to the rest" and now in a much more globalized world people are talking about missions being "from everywhere to everywhere". It is definitely going to be a lot more difficult to define the task and the task remaining with the movement of people, globalization, urbanization, etc.
I think you're issue is the definition of missions. Groups A and B should not have missionaries. Period. They have churches for that. The Church should already be reaching out to them, calling out to them. Missionaries are sent. We should have to be sending people to these places like we would a missionary. Group C, on the other hand, it clearly the group with the greatest need, and that's why we need to send to them. I define an unreached people group as >2% reached. That corresponds with Paul's ministry and with how much it takes to evangelize a people group. A and B needs to be evangelized, not to have missionaries.
Plz just leave ppl alone some ppl don't want to listen just plz respect others ppl what don’t people get- if people come to poor villages w food/ medicine and ask people to convert in exchange they’ll do so out of a will to live this is like neo colonelism
We can pray that the whole tithe will come into the church not just two percent That from the 42 trillion earned the 700 billion given is only 2%, that the church will recieve 10% of the earning.
We would love to have this in Hindi. If you work on it, let us know and we might be able to help change the text on the video to Hindi and try to promote it in India to our networks and contacts there. Thanks brother for the work you are doing for the kingdom.

Updated numbers are: 1) Christians worldwide make 54 Trillion dollars 2) Christians give a meager 1.85%, so 1 Trillion dollars 3) 60 Billion Dollars goes to missions, 6% of the 1 trillion 4) 1.8 Billion dollars go to world A missions? 3% ? I would love to see how much of the 60 billion goes to short term vacationaries.
Spend a few minutes on what countries are part of A. I am not doubting your numbers, but I'd like to know where you got your statistics. Btw... The USA has failed churches and everything is politicized. There are hundreds of millions doomed in the USA alone. Perhaps this message needs to also be directed to these Mega-Churches that needed to reroute their finance. Just a thought.
Thanks for your note. We get our information from Gordon Conwell Seminary. www.gordonconwell.edu/center-for-global-christianity/resources/status-of-global-christianity/ Yes, we feel like this video could be a prophetic message churches of all types in America and around the world to consider how we are using God’s resources for Kingdom advancement. Just a clarification - the A, B, C graphic is meant to be a pie chart rather than the countries that are under those letters on the globe. We see how that can be confusing. In the missions world, “unreached” refers to people with little to no access to the Gospel, not just “lostness” of people. Thanks for the note. Keep pursuing God’s Great Commission!

Large parts of Africa and Asia have less than 40% internet penetration so just because someone has a computer in no way does it mean they have access to the Gospel. A large part of World A people are "oral-preferenced" communicators so written language means very little in these parts of the world.
I meant Worlds B and C in the first sentence, comment above.
Pakistan n India should know this reality in there on language that's why I took initiative because we all are coworkers of His kingdom
Plz just leave ppl alone some ppl don't want to listen just plz respect others ppl what don’t people get- if people come to poor villages w food/ medicine and ask people to convert in exchange they’ll do so out of a will to live this is like neo colonelism
We can pray that the whole tithe will come into the church not just two percent
That from the 42 trillion earned the 700 billion given is only 2%, that the church will recieve 10% of the earning.

Check out Radius International, Wycliffe and Ethnos360.
Updated numbers are:
1) Christians worldwide make 54 Trillion dollars
2) Christians give a meager 1.85%, so 1 Trillion dollars
3) 60 Billion Dollars goes to missions, 6% of the 1 trillion
4) 1.8 Billion dollars go to world A missions? 3% ?
I would love to see how much of the 60 billion goes to short term vacationaries.
Curious where you got your stats from?

Spend a few minutes on what countries are part of A. I am not doubting your numbers, but I'd like to know where you got your statistics. Btw... The USA has failed churches and everything is politicized. There are hundreds of millions doomed in the USA alone. Perhaps this message needs to also be directed to these Mega-Churches that needed to reroute their finance. Just a thought.
Thanks for your note. We get our information from Gordon Conwell Seminary. www.gordonconwell.edu/center-for-global-christianity/resources/status-of-global-christianity/
Yes, we feel like this video could be a prophetic message churches of all types in America and around the world to consider how we are using God’s resources for Kingdom advancement.
