“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!””
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭

I just want to say Paul was talking about those before the flood. I understand that we all have done this but if it were up to us to “save others” or bring them to God, we would fail. We are not reliable and God cannot rely on us. The as to why salvation is by grace and not by works brown could loose it, we would mess it up. We will fail those people, people will deny God and reject Christ. I don’t understand how this verse explains there eternal place. If God won’t hold my children accountable for the sin I commit, why would those in need be held accountable for my lack of interest and faith to reach them? Why is someone else to pay for my mistake? Are we not judged by what we know, by our conscience as Paul explains also in Romans? I’m not sure I understand and agree with this alright he’s absolutely right on reaching those in need not continuing in an area that’s already been reached. We get better by learning new things, it’s how we grow, not by doing the same things over and over. We need to reach new places, we don’t need multiple people in one are, we are the light of the world. Anyone have a better verse or understanding or does anyone else agree with me? Please explain further my ears are open to a better understanding for anyone who can answer.

David is way off the mark and has been for quite awhile. He is a Marxist and he bends scripture to fit that narrative. Reseaa see rich the crt battle among other things at his church. Many have left though there are plenty remaining. But the church is divided on many things and it’s ironic that the pastor who worships unity, even when unity is unbiblical in his context, is the one sowing the division. I’m so disappointed because I used to learn a lot from him. But there came a point wherein his sermons stopped aligning with scripture and started aligning with culture and so I just cannot trust him anymore. He also isn’t the humble guy that most think him to be. Like all Marxists, he takes it very personally if you question him and he simply does not believe that he is ever wrong. He has been deceived.

How about babies? Or born deaf? Or … God is more than we can imagine or understand. Yes preach and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s our mission in life. But we don’t know what God will do for those who have not heard. Platt needs to think a bit deeper which he hasn’t shown up to this point.

I believe a just God holds us accountable for what we know not for what we don't know.

The Biblical signs of the end are present. You need to look at what was right becomes wrong, day of deception and so forth. If you would listen to John Barnett you might realize you are incorrect. The end is very near. Very near.

I'm a conservative Presbyterian, and I probably agree with David Platt on the vast majority of things, both theological and social issues. But he's wrong on this, and you can find venerated Calvinists (like William G. T. Shedd) who would disagree with him. The penal sacrifice of Christ is indeed the only means by which anyone can be saved. The normative means for receiving this salvation is, of course, faith in Christ through the transformative operation of the Holy Spirit. What Platt fails to recognize is how this operation of the Holy Spirit can manifest itself effectually in those outside of the church, not least with those, like Noah or Job, who were even before or outside of the Abrahamic covenant. The desire for salvation can be effectually implanted in the elect outside of explicit knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. For those who want to learn more about this, I highly recommend Terrance Tiessen's book, 'Who Can Be Saved?'. He's writing from an evangelical Reformed persuasion, like my own.

@@RIGHT_Daver The Holy spirit transforms the heart in order to elicit repentance and faith in Christ. If you've experienced that, you have every reason to believe you are among the elect.

I believe that preaching the Gospel saves; however it is not our job to restrict the grace and mercy of God. Some things we just do not know. Yes, preach the Gospel, do what you can to share and spread the good news, but leave the unknowns to the Lord of lords and King of kings. A just God will hold us accountable for what we know, not what we don't know. Romans 1 speaks a little about this; "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. Since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes, His eternal power, and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse." Romans 1:18-20. IMO
