No chap, we learned all this at primary school, that is we are under 11 yrs, but to add to that the world has changed regarding especially Russia, so many countries now
I don't know if this explains the united states question for you. I don't really know another country calling the division of their country states. I'm 39 years old and i admit that if you ask me now many questions about Geography i will fail some of them .That wouldn't be the case at my 20is cuz Geography was my favorite subject .But i cannot say the same for today's generation.
I'm so sorry that his correct question about the united states made you glitch so hard, but i really needed that laughter 😂😂😂
Most people I know either say United States or America, outside of your home country I’ve never heard anyone actually say United States of America or USA
Really ! In France, we say ofently US
or USA , because it's a country and America, it's a continent ! ✌️🇨🇵🇪🇺
America being called a continent was always up in the air - when I was I growing up there was debates about how many continents there actually is
Some sources said 6 others 7
And the one that was always the problem was either ‘The Americas’ or ‘North America (USA & Canade)& South America being split
More like this!!!! :D :D :D i really enjoyed :D this video. we played together :)
Hehe, that Cuba question was funny. Copy-catting and swapping the colors :D
The reaction was “SIMPLE, the BEST”.
“I'm right, I'm right . . . . it's Puerto Rico!” Look at both flags and the facial derailment was priceless.
United states! Of America, name 2...😂
With the flags: Look again and this time take a CLOSE look at the colors! 😜
15:30 You're mad and colour blind, Cuba and Puerto Rico have exactly their colours swapped!
Yes, but Cuba is a country and Porto Rico is a territory of USA !
I'm curious - do you guys have international geography at all at school? Or is it just US geography? (serious question, no mocking whatsoever)
At this point videos about the topic of education and basic knowledge in the US would be so much more interesting, we watched all those geography videos by now. ☺️☺️
@@Alltagundso Agreed! It's so hard to tell if those US guys asked questions in certain videos are just dumb or if they really just don't learn it at school. I kinda feel bad for laughing if they just didn't learn. No shame in never having heard about Bern if it has never been taught. Really not interesting enough to educate yourself about Geography (at least to me). Wo bist du her?
@@T_Witti Würzburg ☺️
So, the thing is this: teenagers depend on school and their parents. After high school you're busy with studying. But a person that's older than 25 should really just take their time to learn things by themselves.
But yeah, it would be interesting to know the details of their high school curriculum etc.
@@Alltagundso Wien hier 😀
Idk man. After answering the question about how many countries in Africa so wrong (I tried to count them) I opened a map to see which ones I forgot. Never in my life would I have done that solely out of interest without a specific reason. It just never crossed my mind that I know so little about african countries. I don't even want to begin thinking about Asia. We just didn't cover Asian Geography in school back in the days therefore I only know about vaccation places. Kinda embarrassing at 40 y/o. Definitely will change that and educate myself!
@@T_Witti I'm a small geography nerd. So I know more than others in this field. I also know three foreign languages.
But I need to catch up with my knowledge about physics and chemistry. I'm an aunt and want to be a good example. I hope to support and inspire my nephews and nieces.
porto rico (blue triangle and red stripes) is inverted color of cuba (red triangle and blue stripes)
When we talk about the United States as far as I know we talk about the USA.
The states of the USA are litteraly united states, they are 50 states that are United, so each is a united state, a state united with 49 other states.
Wearing a NASA hoodie doesn't make you smarter...
Aruba is a country, not a territory. It is a country inside the Kingdom of The Netherlands, just like The Netherlands is a country inside the Kingdom. And I thought Israel was a member of UN since 1949, how can a country be a member country of an organization and not be recognized by that organization? I think the host is wrong here.
Not UN recognised as a country, just like Wales
Fidel sends regards from the beyond😁😁
Its just a short abreviation, a bit like saying hey i'm getting a Harley, aka Harley Davidson.
I mean you guys a built a Museum where Humans go hunting with Velociraptors so yeah i rest my case :D
Can Euroeans answer simple ( debatable!!) geography questions ?
Q. Where are you from ?
A. India
A. Brazil
A. Vietnam ?????????????
Welcome dear New-European countries even though your students lack a bit of geographical knowledge.
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
They represented an european school😜✌️🇨🇵🇪🇺
@@sandyd89 They were part of an ERASMUS
project which is an EU project for international students. So say so in the thumbnail !
Seek what ERASMUS means, then spew your nonsense. 😑
Its funny to see him processing United States😅
In the previous video by this person, he asked a question about flags at 180 degrees representing other countries and his answers were Poland with Indonesia and Italy with cote d'Ivoire. Italy is incorrect. Ireland instead of Italy.
Not only do we study geography in Europe but we also travel and read and educate ourselves on countries we visit. The "united States" is only one part of America so non- USAians refer to your country as the US to exclude Mexico etc.
Vatican City is not a country recognized by the UN. The Holy See (the government of the Catholic Church) is a non-member state observer, the same status of Palestine.
Bro got stuck on semantics hahaha
Question from Poland - what is the country famous from pizza starting with W???😂
⬇️
WŁOCHY - in polish means Italy 😂
"Name two of the United States" sounds correct to me. Collectively they are called The United States of America.
And there’s videos out there of Americans that don’t know what 3x3x3 is and can’t tell the time on a clock 😂
She should have asked "which United States". The official name of Mexico is "United Mexican States".
And that's how Americans need to call side walk...
A state that is completely surrounded by another state, could also be eSwatini, former Leshoto surrounded by South Africa.
No, ex Swaziland
@@marinellaravasio1456 OH.... my bad. Leshoto is completely surrounded by South Africa, but Swaziland was a different country, landlocked between SA and Mozambique
Lesotho (which never changed its name) and Eswatini are two different countries. Eswatini was formerly known as Swaziland, and is between two countries (including South Africa). Lesotho on the other hand, is entirely inside of Souith Africa.
He worded it perfectly lol
If you ever take a flight to Bern, make sure that it's a turbo prop flight, the runway is very short.
Dude, everyone else understood the question but you. You are the only United States in the world. What the hell.
Except in the USA, there is an object called a world map, a reproduction of the earth with the drawing of all the countries in the world.
There are also unfamiliar and rather strange publications titled "Atlas of the World" and oddities akin to a depiction of Earth called globes found in schools all over the world.....Except nobody in the US of A has ever seen one..........
Gonna try to play it while watching
1:40 Singapore
2:10 Kosovo, Taiwan, South Ossetia (and any other territories that are occupied by Russia)
2:44 Greek and English (damn but Turkish is on the northern part that's occupied by Turkey)
3:15 first is Sofia, second is blank for me
3:28 Madagascar and Mauritius. But as a bonus Canary Islands
4:37 Kiwis
4:55 there is only Lousiana. That's a trick question for M it is Main and Massachusetts (adding: I understood him completely. And what you thought would be United States of Mexico. P.S. damn, it doesn't let me save my audited comment. Writing it for the 3rd time)
9:08 Turkmenistan
9:55 Kyiv obviously, as a Ukrainian. Riga in Latvia, Oslo in Norway
10:48 Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic
12:00 Spain
12:24 Bern
12:44 London, Cardiff, Edinburgh
13:20 12 ( now I know what's the problem. The lowest line of commnts is invisible, you have to scroll down. And I thought they weren't saved)
14:37 Cuba
16:32 I go with 50
17:18 obviously she will say Azerbaijan. And I don't think there are actually any others (p.s. some of my comments here do actually disappear)
18.13 no idea
3:15 I would say Athens as in Dutch it is Athene and it was named after the Greek Goddess Athena
Those questions were tough!
This is lexical knowledge. Our education system is based on a very strict requirement to meet at the end of high schools. I don’t think that the excuse of “we didn’t have wars” is good enough. Most of the events we learn is before! the very existence of USA. And usually we learn it parallel with literature. So the interesting question is: how do the Americans understand the context for books? Let’s say: Pride and Prejudice? If they don’t learn anything about the history of the era, it means way less even if they read it.
I understood the question. I knew there's no state that started with L
🇷🇴 Romania good job 👏!! that's why i know as Romanian living in Canada ,Canadian school system sucks!!!😢
The context’s obvious. No need to flog it to death.
2:10 Somaliland, Abkhazia, Taiwan
It's nice to feel stupid together with you 🥰
Until the number of countries in Africa. I guessed 53 🥳🥳
We are two clever cookies and I'll never forget 😂
His states question seems a little strange because you/we think in terms of the states of the United States. But if you (point at the USA on a map and) reword the question, you can see how what he says makes sense: 'These are the united states, name two that begin with M?'
Tried to watch until the end .
Fun fact, there are a lot of people and resources that call the USA simply the United States. If you google "United States" the first result is "United States, Country in America" (fat disclaimer here, I am not saying everything on google or the internet in general should be taken at face value. Fact checking matters but in this case, it is just common here)
Basically all americans (united states of americans 🤪) call it the united states so he allready knows that. But the question is worded incorrectly leading to the confusion. It's like saying "name a France starting with L"
I take it you did your schooling in the USA?
I am referring to the comment that you made at 6:04.
I understood the question and I’m English.
Louisianna is the only one
as far as I know puerto Rico is not a recognised sovereign state but is part of the USA commonwealth
No chap, we learned all this at primary school, that is we are under 11 yrs, but to add to that the world has changed regarding especially Russia, so many countries now
10:354 alternatively Lesotho
I don't know if this explains the united states question for you. I don't really know another country calling the division of their country states. Like the UK is formed of countries, Canada provinces etc so he probably for you shortened the question but it does make sense because USA is from what I know the only country formed in states. Hope this makes sense.
I just had a bit of a look and there are a few more countries formed in states but from what I know official and unofficial most people call USA, US as well so that is why that question would click for me.
Mexico, India, Germany...
@@xenotypos yes I said as a coment to my coment, I still knew he was meaning US by United States
10:40 San Marino also (still in Italy) and Principauté de Monaco (France)
In Poland we have a YT channel "Matura to bzdura" (matura exam is nonsense). They quiz young people on the streets of cities on basic school knowledge. Of course they cut out those who knew the answers but for example how many were there who had no idea looking at a map where Poland is 🫣 …. Generation Z
without further ado - it's Louisiana
My man...! They are states and they are united.
Both Bazil and Portugal don't end with an L in Italian, so it is doubly difficult to answer your questions for somebody who's studied geography in a different language.
The question was correct! To ask for 2 of the states of the United States would be redundant.
I think the guy actually said “two states of the united states”, but he effed it up during the editing - he cut out the first “states”.
Right that’s possible
