- Unfortunately, sometimes cranes tip over. Finding the load required to tip a crane is a basic problem in statics. I show you how to set up and solve a tipping problem along with some pictures of cranes to make the point.

Question how do you convert the crane boom angle degrees to feet from the center pin/ fulcrum to the boom tip..... I can see it's illustrated in the LMI computer but how does that calculation work if I wanted to measure that
Neat stuff, its cool how you take your time to go over every aspect of the diagram... however, and I may be jumping the gun here, but for me, doing so seems to over-complicate the problem unnecessarily...

If you start adding more ballast you'd bend ether the jib or more likely the outriggers...I stick with the load charts..they' save a lot of time and accidents lol
how about gravity caused due to crane boom? should we plus it into equation?
