Great video, would love to hear more facts about the different Broadway theatres (did you know the two owners of the Hudson were on the Titanic?) Would also love a similar rundown of facts about the Off-Broadway theatres
Yes! I love the architecture and style of the Broadway theatres - and your insider stories! Also, the "Broadway Massacre of 1982" can NEVER be forgotten - it definitely deserves its own post!
As several others have noted, I strongly encourage your idea of doing a series of videos on Broadway Theaters. I would also recommend a series of videos on the various regional theaters in the US: The Guthrie, The Goodman, The Louisville Actors Theater, the Pantages, The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Ahmanson, etc. Of course, there's also the numerous theaters in the West End. That should keep you busy for a while. 🙂
I would definitely be interested in seeing videos about these theaters. You can't understand Broadway, its shows, its music etc, without understanding the spaces that these shows, this music was designed for. So many creative decisions were made with these specific venues in mind.
Love the tee! Met you and Ryan after you saw the Wiz. I saw STEROPHONIC that night. What a production. Looking forward to ENCORES Titanic. Oh yeah, definitely do a piece on the tearing down of BWAY theaters. Could your next breakdown be Miss Vivian Leigh's Toravich?
Would definitely be interested in a deep dive on the 5 Broadway theaters torn down. You can see one of the signs for the old Helen Hayes theater in the NYS Museum up in Albany ( so a little bit of it lives on).
I've seen shows in so many of these theatres starting with Sound of Music at the Lunt Fontanne (the Mary Martin version) when I was about 6. Thanks for these fascinating facts. I'd love to see more about the theatres, especially the ghosts!
Pretty good video. I've been to all the theatres and it's nice to go back thru the video. More is always better so I subscribed. I remember when all the newer theatres were built/remodeled: I've seen the hits and the flops. Good presentation.
I'd love to see a video on each theatre. I've only been to NYC a few times as I'm from Australia & only been to a couple theatres so I'll have to look at my playbills to see what theatres I've been to.
Ok found my playbills I've been to The Helen Hayers Theatre, Longacre Theatre, Eugene O'Neill Theatre, Al Hirschfeld Theatre, The Music Box, Winter Garden Theatre, Brooks Atkinson Theatre, August Wilson Theatre & Broadhurst Theatre
Yes I would love to see extensive histories on all 41 of theaters and the ones that don’t exist anymore. But that seems too much to do. You may leave Studio 54 since it’s pretty much been covered everywhere else. Seriously though, I am loving all these videos!
Oh man Marc what an EMBARRASSMENT of riches! Please do the theaters individually if they have more facts! I actually now do a walking tour of Broadway theaters so this is an INVALUABLE resource I can pop back to from time to time and I’ve shared it with my boss. Also can we PLEASE get the Sewlyn theatre’s original facade back!
We need your version of About This Theater; History, What played there and any other interesting facts! That would be great!
Love this! I would love to see more videos about the theaters. What a great idea.
A series covering the theaters in more depth, and also talking about what used to be theaters, would be very interesting.
PLEASE DO A DOCUMENTARY ON THE FIVE DESTROYED THEATERS!! I have been wanting one from soneone for so long.

I'd be interested in hearing more about the theater buildings - definitely

Loved this, would love to see more detailed videos about the theatres
Fascinating. Thanks so much. Please do one for each theater.
A series about the theaters in depth would be awesome.
Loved it, Marc! I learned so much!
More, please!

I'm for sure here for a video on each theater! This was fantastic, thank you!!

Terrific research - I really enjoyed this presentation. I think my favorite Broadway theater is the Booth - seen several shows there.
That was Fun! More!
Super interested in in-depth info on each of the theatres!

Loved it! Can’t wait for the next one. Can’t narrow down what show it’ll be
Fantastic vid! I would love to get some more theater history videos from you!
I would love videos about the theaters!

Katherine Hepburn in COCO?
Hmmmm - based on your description, I'll guess that your next breakdown will be Coco?
Breakfast at Tiffany's ?

That sounds like such a fun tour! What’s your company called? I want to add it to my list for the next time I’m in NY!
@@HMSDisaster look for Broadway Behind the Scenes tour on Google. Hopefully I’ll have you guys!
Let's have lunch. I'm in town at the end of the month.
"Skyscraper"?
Given the Longacre's string of short runs over the 2020s so far, you think the thing about it being "unlucky" is still true?
