I didn't know who Chip was (I didn't read the description... saw Len Cariou and just clicked). Part way through whatever lyric he sang, I yelled, "THAT'S THE BAKER!!!!" I used to listen to Into the Woods and had the show on VHS... but never knew his name. So good!
Fabulous to see 2 Older men singing a love song. We need more of this. Broadway Backwards gave us not just this but Be Italian, as well as Sixteen going on 17......can we please get a whole Broadway show..............
I was hoping so much that this would be posted (and thinking it unlikely because others of Mr. Cariou's tragically haven't been) that when I saw the link I shouted so loudly for joy that I had to explain what had happened to my roommate :D thank you!
The most heartwarming moment in _Cabaret_ . I was so fortunate to hear and watch Lotte Lenya and Jack Gilford play the scene in New York. That was 57 years ago. The song is both gushing with romance and blessed with funny lines. "That might be nice, but, frankly, it would give me gas."
What we need is a chamber musical about an elderly gay couple starring Chip & Len. That would be “Heavenly”
New La Cage?
Who knew that what this world needed was a love song between Sweeney Todd and The Baker. From Sondheim to Cabaret!!
And I remember Len from “ A Little Night Music”.

That was in 1988 or 1989, so you would not recognize Chip right off the bat. "Time is rarely kind to any of us," to quote Olivia Coleman in The Crown

What a lovely performance! Listening to those "backwards" versions always give me so much joy, thank you for sharing!
I’m so happy I found this wonderful broadway channel, the songs are so beautiful and cute. Elderly wholesome love like this is so refreshing…❤️

A lesson in delivery....you don't have to always belt and scream notes to get people to cheer
Love it!
Goddammit who's chopping onions in here
Honestly now I’d love to see Chip as Herr Schultz!
Sweeney Todd and the Baker from Into the Woods!
❤❤❤
Charming! All that needs to be added is a credit for the composer/lyricist team of John Kander and the late Fred Ebb. 🙂
There is a credit for them right at the beginning of the video.
@@tallactordude My apologies... 🙂
