So true about taking things one step at a time. So many times when I started I would be overwhelmed when trying to bend a tree to my vision, eventually I learned that until refinement, the final result should be nothing more than a rough guide to bare in mind while you make the smaller decisions. So long as you keep doing the right things on a smaller level, the overall design will work itself out. Sometimes it means removing things you're unsure about, sometimes the tree will initially look bad after the work, but have faith in your decisions and trust the process - more often than not, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the results.
Hello Peter, I am beginning to understand what you are seeing and thinking when you first see the trees. As a novice in this new hobby of Bonsai, thank you for your thoughts, philosophy and the tutorial lessons in this natural form of art. God bless you. 🙏🙏🙏
Peter say's your never told old to learn, and I think working with Kevin Wilson, Peter's Pine, Yew and Juniper tree styling has improved 10 fold. Peter a great result the owner should be pleased with the result.
I love your videos. I just got my first bonsai and your videos are so helpful. I love watching them to relax and learn new things. Keep doing what you do :) you make beautiful bonsai
Hi thanks for your literati styling, I thought you may take off the lower branches and use the top as the literati, using the term less is more, but you are the master, if you did that the customer may not be happy with the end result I suppose, great result never the less.
Nice transformation. Just have 1 remark. I would cut of the lowest left branch as it now has 2 branches that are opossite to each other. Would certainly look better this way. Just my opinion though...
I would have kept the back branch and wired the trunk to twist it to see the shoulder, it looked like it has some nice ramification. Beautiful job Peter from coal comes diamonds again by the master.
What an improvement ! I love the literati style but find it one of the most difficult ones to achieve. I think I don't have enough experience enough with bonsai to try this style, maybe in a few years I will be ready.
Over the past couple three years of watching your videos I’ve learned I don’t really like jin as much as I thought I did when I was a much more casual bonsai fan.
Hi, i still can not understand why you keep the first left branch (opposite the first right one, do not count the lowest back), it makes whorl on the tree that hits to eyes and makes heavy crown (and typical shape for moyogi style, not suitable for literati) - my opinion only.
Shouldn’t that back branch you cut off have been left?, and instead removed a side one? With three branches all emanating from the same spot, you are left with the “two arms” witch is not a desired look in bonsai. Is it acceptable to break this rule Under certain situations?
Awesome Peter thanks
Amazing after watching your channel for like 3 years, I learn something and still enjoy every one!!!!!!! USA Michigan
Thanks Peter. I've got a couple of young Scotties, about 18 inches high, that I'm starting to train, so this video was very welcome.
Thank you Peter
That was an impressive transformation once again!
Love watching you work on pines Peter. 🙏🏻

Massive improvement. Lovely tree.

Great transformation! Some nice character and aged look to that pine

What perfect timing. I was just about to tackle three of my Scots Pine and now I have at least a plan for two of them. Thanks very much :)
These videos are therapeutic!
Stunning tree. I really like that style. Imagine getting a tree to spell some something out like a family name
Thank Mr Peter Chann many thanks for sharing your knowledge and tips. 👍👍👍Ernie smith from brisbane Australia

Hard to really capture literati through the 2d screen, was itching to reduce some more branches 😁, but it's just me.. Thx for sharing Peter 👍

Amazing transformation!! Congrats!
Merci beaucoup ! Verrynice 🌲🌟
Very nice
Well done, Peter 👍👍🌳
Excellent!
Hmmm , l have a tiny one growing by my shed , this inspires me to try and save it rather than composting it.
Over the past couple three years of watching your videos I’ve learned I don’t really like jin as much as I thought I did when I was a much more casual bonsai fan.
Beautiful tree, thank you! I probably would have removed the lower left branch as well, what do you think about it @Peter Chan?
I would
Ur amazing namaste 🙏
Peter. I hope my version of heaven looks like your nursery!
Awesome! Although I would like it to be a surprise how it turns out, now the thumbnail spoils it a bit. 🙈
I’m inspired!
👍👌👌🙂🙂
I enjoyed this video! Whoever was talking in the background, it was rude to Peter and very distracting.

Always remember that these are customers' trees and I have to respect their wishes to a large extent.
can you ship to the usa ?
Sadly NO- US regulations for trees and plants very very difficult.
Shouldn’t that back branch you cut off have been left?, and instead removed a side one?

That is also a possibility but I think my customer may not like it.

Mr. herons is so approximate...
Your video is very interesting. However the talking going on behind the camera while in hushed tones is still distracting.
when you turn away from the camera we cant hear you
