Give Lola calcium. It fixed my dog 100%. She started having seizures suddenly. It's a low calcium thing. Sardines and seaweed calcium supplement daily. She's super active and healthy again. She's 10 years old.

chicken eggs are great source of calcium, the shell is made of calcium carbonate ,I soak mine in lemon juice to break down the carbonate into Citrate, then dehydrate them and crush them up in a blender and take a teaspoon which is about 1,000 milligrams of calcium. not sure the dosage for a dog but 1000 mg is the daily dose for adults

😢Myson suffers with seizures , changes in Barometric pressure really activate his seizures. Im just so sorry Lola is suffering. With the storms rolling in the pressure shifts and my son has bad brake-thru seizures. CBD made for dogs can be quite effective for calming seizures to even stopping them for pups. I appreciate you guys and never miss an episode. So excited for the house build. You guys are such a joy.

tongue and groove I learned from Norm Abram on This Old House - 1) take multiple cuts/passes and don't try to take down to finished size in 1 go 2) do a pass with the board flipped so you will ensure uniformity - any slight variance will be balanced out with the pass with the opposite side face up

One of our dogs had a seizure last month. It was his first and he's 5 yrs old. I believe it could have been related to the dose of flea meds I gave him a week prior but none of other 3 dogs (who also received a dose) had any problems so I'm not sure. It was terrifying though and I was shocked that my husband (a veteran) panicked like he did. Thankfully I've been around a dog with seizures before so I kept calm and comforted him while it happened. It only lasted 10 mins and he hasn't had one since. Very bizarre!

Watching Lola go thru that seizure took me right back to our dog, Bo. We got him thru a friend who needed to re-home him when he was 3 yrs old, & he was the the most amazing pooch; a handsome, _crazy_ smart Pitbull/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.
Unfortunately, he had seizures. Fortunately, they were [mostly] managed with phenobarbital, which was pretty affordable compared to the alternatives. Back then, it was $25 for a one month supply, & he had to take one every day. He averaged a mild seizure every 3 or so months, & only suffered three grand mal-level seizures in the 11 years that he was with us.
To some, that might seem like a lot; however, it was much worse before he came to us as he wasn't getting his medication regularly.
I sincerely hope that Lola will be alright. It's heartbreaking to watch. I can only imagine how scary it is for them to experience.

Feeling so bad for Lola. Sweet girl. My dog was afraid of fireworks. When they started he’d go crazy. So I started darkening my room and putting music on really loud, then singing and gently rubbing his ears to make the rustling sound. Eventually he got to the point where if he heard a firework he’d run to my room and wait for the ear treatment. Then started sleeping through them. Just thought I’d share in case it helps anyone else.
I know thunder is different. There’s that static feeling that affects them.
Take care - all of you. Can’t wait to see the finished house.

This one hits close to home for me... I feel what you guys are going through with Lola. Having a pet or any loved one that has a seizure disorder is so tough and scary. My Border Collie mix, Jax, suddenly started having seizures around 2 years old and me and my partner at the time struggled for a while, going to lots of Vet appointments, trying all sorts of different treatments and medications, and spending a ton of money we really didn't have, as we were only in our early 20's. We finally found the right medicine and dosage that seemed to be working and got his seizures to a more manageable level with them becoming less frequent and less severe over time. It was still super hard and stressful on us though because he absolutely hated taking his medicine, which he needed to take twice a day, and it was a project just to get it in him and keep it in him. We couldn't hide it in food, he would always find it and either eat around it or spit it out. And even forcing him to swallow it, which wasn't easy given that he was a big boy and not cooperative, a lot of the time he would manage to somehow cough it back up afterwards.
Unfortunately, one night he started seizing and it didn't stop. Getting him to the Animal Hospital was a challenge because I'm tiny, weighing only 100lbs and with the dog basically being the size of me with a similar weight and him flailing around uncontrollably, there was no way I would be able to carry him up the stairs and out to the car. And my partner couldn't carry him either due to the fact that he's an amputee, missing a whole leg and has to use crutches to walk. So we had to call around to friends in the middle of the night until someone finally answered and could come help us. Sadly, by the time we got him to the Hospital he had already been seizing for almost 30 minutes, which raised his body temperature to almost 109°f and the Vet told us that even if they can save him and bring him out of it, he would have severe brain damage and wouldn't be able to function or have any meaningful quality of life. So they recommended that we end his suffering and put him down, which is what we ultimately chose to do. He was only 3 and a half years old when he passed.
Afterwards, in the following days after his death, I was cleaning up his stuff around the house and doing a deep clean on our loveseat, which was Jax's bed, because he started his seizure on the chair that night which left a mess due to all of the drool and foaming from his mouth, as well as losing control of his bladder (Sorry if that's TMI). And while I was taking apart the cushions to wash them, I made a shocking discovery that made my heart drop. We found that Jax had been secretly coughing up his medicine and hiding it in the cushions of the loveseat. We don't know exactly how long that had been going on but there was over a weeks worth of pills stuffed in there. We felt so much guilt for a long time after that for not catching that and realizing it sooner, even though we did everything that we could to make sure he got his meds and watched him kike a hawk for several minutes afterwards. To this day, we still don't understand how he managed to do that but I still feel responsible.
That being said, I know the pain and struggle that you guys are going through. Seizures are one of the most difficult disorders to deal with mentally and emotionally for the people around them because there's really nothing that you can do except let it run its course and try to make sure that they don't hurt themselves, which is really hard when there's little to no warning typically and with a pet, they can be somewhere where they could potentially fall off an edge like a bed, chair, porch, ect.. Plus it's scary not knowing when the seizure will stop because it becomes really dangerous if it goes on for too long and you could end up in my situation.
It's hard not to always be anxious and to feel totally helpless but just know that you guys are giving Lola an amazing life there on Lola's Farm, a life that any dog would envy and dream of. Try not to let those hard times get you down and know that the good overwhelmingly outweighs the bad and you guys have given her so much joy and love and adventure. So no matter what happens, she's living her best life surrounded by so many that love her!

When we found out he decided he didn't want Hoover, we were extatic!
My husband took him out fishing with him and came back to the house early, shouting for me to, "Quick! Come out!"
Kyle had Hoover all wrapped up, and I could tell that he wasn't doing very well.
I had Kyle describe to me what he saw and understood immediately that Hoover had had a seizure.
Several blood tests later and a few more to find the right amount of phenobarb to give him to stop the seizures, and Hoover never had another one.
    Yearly blood tests after that.
The Vet thought Hoover was between 2 and 4 years old.
Horrifyingly, if our Vet hadn't known us for all of our cats he'd fixed and given shots to - and Hoover, too - he told us that he'd have called Animal Welfare on us.
    WHAT???
Hoover was a rescue who Connie, the gal we got him from, was fostering through a program.
Hoover had several old skull fractures that the Vet was sure came from repeated blows to his head with a blunt object.
We were livid and had Connie call the foster program she worked through notified with our Vet's findings.
The Vet wasn't sure if the old head trauma was the reason or if being white was part of it.
We had Hoover for 10 years and he did amazing with the anti-seizure meds.
I know you like to go natural, and that's fine!
I just wanted you to know that we never had a problem with Hoover, his personality, or even his life span as he lived to be between 12 - 14.
I hope Lola is fine and you can find a way to help her.
    Now, to finish the video!
I have loved every minute of your family's journey!❤❤❤

So when I first started watching your videos, I was intrigued with your coffee. Each time you brought a new coffee out, I wanted to buy and try. Sadly I wound up with a heart issue that forbids me to have any caffeine. So I’m limited to decaf coffee. Mind you decaf today is better than it was years ago. But my problem is finding companies that will do a decaf line. Not just one version of decaf, but a whole line of decaf, where a person can have dark roast, light roast, some with different notes of fruit or chocolate. So I’m just saying that since there are those of us who love coffee, (and I was the poster child for coffee) but can’t enjoy the regular coffee, we need to be represented as the coffee drinkers who would love to join in the masses of coffee drinkers who get the privilege to enjoy different varieties of coffee, sans caffeine.
Thanks for what you do. I enjoy the videos so much!

I just switched 13 yr old Boston terrier to Farmers Dog, we had just lost our older Boston she was 16 and both where switched to science diet and she passed 1 month after the change. Since we change to fresh food it has been a 180 turn in her health, activity she is doing wonderful! That processed food is horrible for our pups.

I know exactly what you're going through with Lola's seizures. My cat Romeo has grand mal seizures and they are heartbreaking and terrifying! Violent shakes, heavy salivation, urine release, and nervous and starving when it's over. We've now gone almost 6 months without one using homeopathic remedies. Fingers crossed and prayers said for Romeo and Lola. I love you guys and your videos! Can't wait to watch your dream house come to fruition.

Along with boxes for toys, when my children were little, paper towel tubes and different sizes of plastic bottles made good toys.
Loving Sadie helping with cooking and dancing. She’s a sweetheart.

We have a 5yo Frenchie who started having seizures when he was 6 months old. We've tried EVERYTHING. He keeps getting them every 15 days or so and will continue to have them for the rest of his life, the vet diagnosed him as epileptic. We give him phenobarbital, gabapentin and CBD. He used to have them 3-4 times a week and was devastating seeing him go through that. I've seen several comments recommending calcium, I might do that as well, and see if it helps more. Pup is crazy and what triggers seizures is waking up suddenly all mad and crazy... As he has grown old he's becoming more calm. Hope Lola gets better with some of the recommendations you got here

Loving watching Sadie cook so much! She really loves it and is so good at it! I’m praying for Lola she’s such a sweet baby 🙏🙏🙏I’m curious as to why the females goats have such a big pen compared to the males that are stuck in this little bitty pen without any room to move or shelter from the storms because it can rain in their sideways. I’m sure. I know yall are so busy with everything but I’ve been worried for the male goats and MooMoo too! I love animals and they are triggering for me when I think they are hungry or in need somehow. Don’t get me wrong I know yall love all of your animals! ♥️🙏🙏🙏

I love how excited you both are!! I’m so excited for you!! My pup also has seizures!! I stopped the flea and tick meds and have now changed her diet to basically a paleo diet. No grains, nothing processed, just good, wholesome food that even I can eat. I also added in some fishy kibble that doesn’t contain any grains and comes from Canada. It’s called Taste of the Wild. Foo (our pup) is sooo much happier, and the seizures have basically stopped. The last one she had was over a month ago and lasted less than 5 minutes. I wish you and Lola the best of luck. It’s so hard sitting with them, getting them through those horrible fits.

I had my Lola for a wonderful 16 years we had to put her down on 9 March. She also suffered from seizures for a year and a half. I gave her medicine every six hours, but on 9 March she couldn’t take it anymore. It was the Jeff decision I’ve ever had to make in my life. I miss her every day, praying for Lola

Love everything you are doing with the build! Question, could you try and use a weighted blanket for Lola? I was thinking maybe with the blanket she will not get so anxious with the storms. Continued success and cannot wait to see what is next for you!!!!! God Bless!
