Lacquer Thinner and Acetone can damage the paint. And I can see it right away. Basta mahalaga gumana. Make sure lihahin mo and gamitan mo ng plastic adhesion promoter bago an desire color.
You make no sense. The driver cone it is applied to, is not painted and even if it were, is hidden behind the cloth grill. At the same time, it makes little sense that the driver ended up like that to need repair, and little sense to repair it considering that whatever the cause was, it will most likely fail again given the same use/environment.
I have the same Bose Companion II problem. I need to get some of those Speaker edges or Foam surrounds as others call them. But what Size are they? I see Parts Express Audio Components has them like that but I need to know what size they must be before I order them? Can you help me with that? I like the Lacquor Thinner Idea too!!
The exact size of the speaker edges is 2.5 inches but because they dont have the exact size i bought 3inches then i cut and stick with glue (rugby) on both ends of the speaker edges and it works.
@@stinkycheese804 They don't make these Bose anymore AND the replacements for them don't sound nearly as good. Not even half as good as these. The 20's haven't been made for several years but they are the best speakers I've ever had. The touch pad on mine died a year ago after 7 years but I bought a cheap China replacement off Ebay & it works perfect again. I'm going to be sad when/if I lose a speaker.
Actually after watching his video again he is using the cheap replacement bose. I have the original Bose 20 companions. Those things have much richer sound and deeper bass & they get MUCH louder than anything they've replaced them with. I took the newer ones back to Best Buy after hearing them compared to the older versions.
No way... Too much for a set of speakers... Just send them to electronic recycling and buy new speakers... Not worth the effort and waste of time. Two hours is just too much to just open the case. They are just speakers, not a car transmission to be removed for repairing.
I have had these speakers for 4 years and they blew out a few months ago. I wasn't sure if it was the sound card or the speakers, and me, being lazy, didn't get around to eliminating one or the other, for awhile. I have Harmon Kardons on my other systems, so when I finally did getting around to dealing with this, I was very surprised to find out it was the Bose speakers. After seeing all these videos about these speakers, I agree that it is not worth the effort to replace them. I just ordered a new set of speakers made by Creative. I have to say, the name "Bose" surely slipped greatly in my list of top name brands. I am putting mine on the curb next week, when I get my new set.
Maybe get real/normal speakers instead of little computer grade plastic junk that blows out if you try to achieve the desired volume? You are simply repeating the mistake. Computer audio does not have different rules than your home theater or stereo system, except for the amount of space on or near your desk to place them. If the desk cannot fit, say 4" wider speakers, it is time to get a different desk a mere 8" wider. @@mungous1000
Good job
Thank you sir

You do realize that the shipping cost probably exceeds the driver cost, so you could just buy a new driver, something that isn't prone to fall apart?

It's okay for me because this speaker has a sentimental value for me.
