- Senior White House adviser Stephen Miller got into a heated argument with CNN reporter Jim Acosta over the President's proposed immigration bill, comparing it's text to the words on the Statue of Liberty. More: globalnews.ca/n...
If we as a country cannot feed our poor we have no right inviting guests.
White House Senior Adviser, well done! Keeping your cool in the face of CNN at it's "Best"
Acosta got SPANKED!
CNN got smoked again...
This is why they turned the cameras off. This is supposed to be a briefing and Q & A. Not a place for a reporter to give a lecture.
The CNN reporter merely asked a great and relevant question, and Steven Miller deployed every tactic of deception to reflect the racism and hatefulness of the policy and question back onto Jim Acosta himself. That's all that happened here. I'm honestly embarrassed for Steven Miller's family. Imagine having your son on national TV displaying deceptive sociopathy for the whole nation to see. His parents must be ashamed of their name now
Exactly
The sad fact is that there are jobs that some Americans don't want to do. On the flip side educated immigrants are good for the country and the economy.
Jim Acosta needs to be respectful to the people at the podium and let them answer his questions without such lack of decorum, interrupting and inserting his own diatribes. Grandstanding like this is why they turned the cameras off and I would be perfectly happy if he were not called upon for a very long time until he can learn press briefings are not about Jim Acosta and his opinions but about getting information for the American people. But it's CNN and they quit being about facts and made it all about opinions and narratives a long time ago.
person mcperson triggered
FK JIM
I think respect is a two way street. I have a suspicion Murray was in attack mode before he got to the podium. Just waiting for an opening to jump. Acosta, is usually very respectful but direct. This subject should concern any one who is first generation citizen. I don't think Miller realized, or didn't care, how raw and insulting this subject could be. Zero empathy. Not a good idea for someone trying to sell any product. The whole world is watching the USA White House soap opera /reality tv show. That's a shameful disgrace. Feeling sad and embarrassed for Americans and concerned for the world.
Person McPerson Asking a question and not allowing the person to answer, constantly talking over them is not respectful to another human being. Press don't get a pass to be rude just because a free press is protected in the constitution. All that means is they are free to operate, not free to be incredibly rude. Also, Acosta was not behaving like press but as a partisan advocate. The job in the press briefings is to ask questions and get information, not grandstand and engage in diatribes. "Free press" isn't a magic wand that excuses such behavior.
Peachlander 16 You suspect Miller was in "attack mode" but have no facts to back up your opinion. We have the video which very plainly shows Acosta constantly interrupting, not allowing Miller to answer, talking over Miller, insisting on inserting his personal opinions into the press briefing, and asserting an incredibly bigoted point of view that only immigrants from Great Britain and Australia speak English. The only person being insulting was Acosta. I think it's interesting that you assert negative attributes to Miller which are NOT in evidence but based on your suspicions, all the while excusing Acosta's terrible behavior which is very much on display. As for Acosta usually being very respectful but direct--sorry but I have seen him behave just like this too many times to agree both on Twitter and at briefings. The difference is people at the podium usually have less patience for it than Miller did today.
handled well. :)
Wow what a throwback
Oh, Stephen Miller... That's a lot of words for "I'm an ethnocentric white nationalist".
What a horrible man. Or is he a robot?
Stephen Miller is excellent!!
Person McPerson did you listen to the same recoding I did? I don't typically care for Miller but he is 100% correct in saying that Acosta's comments reveal his biases. Not to mention Acosta was being jerk. I saw your earlier comment about a free press in our constitution but I promise you that having certain media outlets at press briefings is not in our constitution. Constitution or not if you talk over people using negative statements they will most likely be harsh with you.
And did seriously miss the part were Acosta insinuated the bill was racist? Really?
I LOVE STEPHEN MILLER!!!
I would have the guy at the podium with a volume switch to turn the press off when they don't let you answer a question!
I would slap the journalist as he does not let any sentence to be finished
Heaven forbid we want to favour people who can speak English and have some valuable skills to contribute to the US.
Immigration law is law, not tradition.
Sheeeiiit
jim, that was before the permanent welfare state.
Like, how are the immigrants now, Miller?

jim Accostya
Nick at Night's rivals are pushing to beat Nick.
I’m sorry that ever sentence I wright that those that have to be subjected to veiweing this insulting individual that is out of hand I can’t believe he is so rude it is insulting to be in the middle of a periodic conversation these days see how it’s cause a conflict with his own asking as if it feels that if the awnser he is looking for I will tell you the truth so why don’t he ask the truth
Ahhhhhhhh just Shut Up Acosta......
Mills is awesome
Jim Acosta is really a good man
CNN dude should leave the jokes for the pros.
"We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here does in good faith become an
American and assimilates himself to us he shall be treated on an exact equality with every one else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birth-place or origin. But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn’t doing his part as an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. . . We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one soul loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people."
President Theodore Roosevelt 1907
THANK YOU JIM ACOSTA !!!
This guy is nuts 😵
lMAO
It's spicy jr. :)... Also I never ever seen a forhead like this one. It goes back half way to his head lol
Acosta got owned so hard! If I were him...I would've left the room in shame. HAHA!!!
Stephen Miller, a true gentleman and handled the situation very professionally.
This guy, Miller, doesn't even know the definition of the word "cosmopolitan". Shameful. Who gave him the job as Senior White House Advisor? He thinks he's still in school." Jim, Jim, Jim". Another Mini me in the making.............just saying.
It's weird how he's both wrong and right at the same time. Right about the first part - hell, more people speak English outside America, the UK and Australia then in those countries. Insanely wrong about that being a sign of "cosmopolitanism". He's more cosmopolitan, being aware of that. The journalist sounds like he never left his own city, uneducated.
Jim Acosta must be quite a "humanitarian."
CNN and JOURNALIST do not belong in the same sentence
CNN is essentially a tabloid channel. What is news to CNN is gossip about Russia by and large.
If you make this guy say Jim one more time 🤦♂️
I would love to see more of Steohen Miller Finally a White house using common sense.
Hes a white nationalist scumbag
Jim you can teach them English as you're not good in the job as a reporter
Jim Acosta is a great reporter, you have to hammer these politicians to get a certain side exposed or an impression REGARDLESS you’re republican or democrat
men how this acosta guy still has a job!!!!!!!
Admit you arnt perfect an caused a worse thing wrong should I say that to prove that’s the truth
What a moment of sheer and utter embarrassment for Stephen Miller. Immigration admission was the topic of Jim Acosta's question here, and the point he successfully drove home. Naturalization on the other hand is a TOTALLY SEPARATE TOPIC. Jim's question had ONLY to do with admission policy...and NO..."speaking English" has NEVER ONCE been required under that policy until Donald Trump. SO...for the first thing out of Miller's mouth to be an incoherent comparison regarding the entirely separate and irrelevant topic of naturalization really demonstrates Stephen's comprehensive inability to process cogent thought and highlights his proclivity for dishonesty as well. Acosta's apt comparative analysis with respect to the Statue of Liberty quote on the other hand was refreshingly cogent and relevant. Stephen Miller should take notes from Acosta here. Maybe he wouldn't embarrass himself so THOROUGHLY otherwise 🤣😆
what a joke
I love Stephen Miller. - Ms Diligence. Acosta just never shuts up. Not interested in learning anything.
I think the bigger issue is that what is being said , is that only people who can speak English can come into the US, how does that help someone who can't speak English but wants to make a better life for themselves, it's one more hurdle to gain entry and if English language lessons are not available in their home town, then their hopes of immigrating are dashed.
Didn't see this one on CNN.. embarrassing!
White House staff have modeled how they want to be treated.
Come on jim
yaaawwwnn ...
Jim?jim????
