This is the cutest bag ever! I just started learning to crochet (like two days ago), and I want to try this so bad! I feel like I might need just a little bit more practice before I can pull something like this off, but I can’t wait to try it! Would he super cool to have a stitch-by-stitch tutorial for those of us that are newbies, but this is a gorgeous bag and either way I can’t wait to try it! You should sell these bags! So dope! xoxo Britt
You have just officially blown my mind 🤯!! I love everything about this bag! So amazing.. thank you so very much for sharing your wonderful tutorial 😍😍
I've been wanting to make a crocheted backpack for the longest time and this is the tutorial that finally inspired me to learn how to sew with a machine! Thanks so much! It's coming along nicely!
Can you please make a tutorial on how to crochet the whole bag including the back and the handles and how to collect the parts together without a sewing machine cause i don't have one Thanks inadvance you are really talented and helpful ❤
I’m two years late lol but you would see the pieces together exactly the same except with reliance on your hand sewing skills as opposed to a sewing machine.
Dana. I LOVE that we are pregnant at the same time cause I get to make baby stuff with you! This is so cute! Please lmk where you got the yarn/ string. Thanks so much ❤
Stitch Upon A Starr yay! lol thanks i bought mine at Whole Foods, but I’m sure most grocery stores have butcher twine next to the deli or in the Tupperware section
Omg this is so cute and thank you for sharing your projects! You inspire me to pick up my crochet hook and do some long waited projects. So, thank you.
So! hahaha Ive been wanting to make this bag for sooooo long and I finally followed all the crochet parts of the bag to the T but sadly, the type of yarn I used made the measurements sooooo much smaller than yours lol! I used Big Twist yarn size 4 and it's such a pretty color and such a soft yarn but I have to redo measurements and make all the pieces slightly bigger which is really a pain haha now I know for next time though! Thank you for the tutorial though, it's such a beautiful bag and I can't wait to finish mine
I know I’m 2 yrs late but… I am blown away at how beautiful this bag is!And you did a fantastic job explaining things! It truly looks professional! 😍 I guess I’ll be on a hunt for a sewing machine. Lol I can’t wait to make this! I do have a question though, I might have missed it but where did you use the elastic?
I love your videos, they're so clear and well explained (and you have a nice voice), and I love that you're doing baby stuff (or stuff that can be used for baby things), and I'm actually going to make a bag using your tutorial for my second baby :) (about 4 months pregnant with my second one)
Hi, if you are interested in crochet, visit my new channel ( English subtitles are added to every videos). I believe you will find something you want there : Truc Nguyen Handmade ua-cam.com/channels/LibW0hcYPvvUnCnVqAEE1Q.html
I tried it and it's really simple, the 2 separate front pieces should be added together, just add more rows to a new front bottom piece and add the curve.
This is a beautiful backpack! I hope I can make it - I'll follow up with my progress. I love Willow Yarns Sudsy Yarn that is 85% cotton and 15% nylon. It has a great feel. Dana thanks sooooo much for sharing this pattern and tutorial!
Hi Dana! I love this backpack pattern. When you are sewing with your sewing machine, do you sew while the pins are still in the fabric? I want to make this bag but I want to also make sure I’m doing it right. Never used a sewing machine before but I catch on pretty quickly.
Beautiful, just what I was looking for! I'm 30 weeks pregnant and I want to make it. I would love to know where did you buy the material to make it! Thank you for a wonderful project!!
Is it possible on the last step to turn the bag in side out and then sew the lining by hand...seems to me this would be so much easier to do...thanks for your answer in advance.....a nice looking diaper bag ! Roy
For those who want a written pattern: front panel: first portion: [timestamp: 1:45] ch 28 ch 1 sc on each 28 ch (repeat until 12 rows) second portion: [timestamp 4:09] ch 28, ch 1 sc on each 28 ch (repeat until 7 rows) ch 1, decrease, sc the remaining stitches until the second to last stitch of the row of which you will do a decrease (repeat for the next 8 rows) finish off, weave ends the portion that connects the main body of the bag and the zipper together: (make 2) [timestamp: 7:50] ch 45 ch 1, sc on each 45 ch (repeat for the next 3 rows for a total of 4 rows) finish off, weave ends side panel/pocket: (make 2) [timestamp: 10:07] ch 12 ch 1, sc on each 12 ch (repeat for a total of 12 rows or as big as you want your side pockets to be) finish off, weave ends [if you want to see all of the pieces timestamp: 11:32] you can sew the ramaining back panel of the bag with fabric like the video did (timestamp: 12:23) or you can fully crochet it. I haven't made it yet since I'm just writing the pattern first for easier work, but according to a commenter with the username Charlotte, that person said, and I quote, "I tried it and it's really simple, the 2 separate front pieces should be added together, just add more rows to a new front bottom piece and add the curve."
Super cute bag!! For the front pocket part, do you sew it above the zipper so the things you put in the pocket doesn’t go in between the lining and the crochet part ? Or do you just use it as a big pocket ?
Just subscribed to you! I found you from the baby moccasins. This bag is so beautiful 😍 i love that the zippers are different colored than the material. I wish I knew how to crochet but I’m determined to learn. How long did this take you? I’m still watching the video as I’m writing this comment! Sorry if you answer it in the video. Also how old are you?! I’m 23 and found out I’m 8 weeks pregnant 🤰🏻
OMG OMG OMG is so beautifull! Thanks for this sweetie, good luck with labor day :) (I speak Spanish and I don't really know how to say it :P but you know what I mean)

ua-cam.com/channels/LibW0hcYPvvUnCnVqAEE1Q.html
You just have to crochet the back like the front but one piece only i guess ...
I tried it and it's really simple, the 2 separate front pieces should be added together, just add more rows to a new front bottom piece and add the curve.
U kinda need the lining though to ensure nothing falls out, and it keeps the outside less dirty.
I really like this bag, you did a great job!
This is a beautiful backpack! I hope I can make it - I'll follow up with my progress. I love Willow Yarns Sudsy Yarn that is 85% cotton and 15% nylon. It has a great feel. Dana thanks sooooo much for sharing this pattern and tutorial!
This is so cute I had a bag like this but it broke. I was going to buy a new one but now I don't have to. I can just make one. BTW this is amazing😄

Hi Dana! I love this backpack pattern. When you are sewing with your sewing machine, do you sew while the pins are still in the fabric? I want to make this bag but I want to also make sure I’m doing it right. Never used a sewing machine before but I catch on pretty quickly.

For those who want a written pattern:
front panel:

second portion: [timestamp 4:09]

sc on each 28 ch (repeat until 7 rows)
ch 1, decrease, sc the remaining stitches until the second to last stitch of the row of which you will do a decrease (repeat for the next 8 rows)
finish off, weave ends
the portion that connects the main body of the bag and the zipper together: (make 2) [timestamp: 7:50]
ch 45

finish off, weave ends
side panel/pocket: (make 2) [timestamp: 10:07]

ch 1, sc on each 12 ch (repeat for a total of 12 rows or as big as you want your side pockets to be)
finish off, weave ends
[if you want to see all of the pieces timestamp: 11:32]
you can sew the ramaining back panel of the bag with fabric like the video did (timestamp: 12:23) or you can fully crochet it. Heaven sent skills 🙌
Super cute bag!! For the front pocket part, do you sew it above the zipper so the things you put in the pocket doesn’t go in between the lining and the crochet part ? Or do you just use it as a big pocket ?
Yes sorry! Cut a slit the same way you cut a slit for the back pocket, and sew the fabric above and below the front zipper to enclose the pocket
Dana B thank you xx
This is just amazing! Love love love it! Thank you so much!
Can I use it as a daily normal backpack instead of for baby stuff only?

Ouuuu. This bag is CUTE.!

Do you have a written pattern for this?
Hey, I know I'm 5 months late, but I'm going to make this pattern too, and made a written one here:
front panel:
first portion: [timestamp: 1:45]
ch 28
ch 1 sc on each 28 ch (repeat until 12 rows)
second portion: [timestamp 4:09]
ch 28, ch 1
sc on each 28 ch (repeat until 7 rows)
ch 1, decrease, sc the remaining stitches until the second to last stitch of the row of which you will do a decrease (repeat for the next 8 rows)
finish off, weave ends
the portion that connects the main body of the bag and the zipper together: (make 2) [timestamp: 7:50]
ch 45
ch 1, sc on each 45 ch (repeat for the next 3 rows for a total of 4 rows)
finish off, weave ends
side panel/pocket: (make 2) [timestamp: 10:07]
ch 12
ch 1, sc on each 12 ch (repeat for a total of 12 rows or as big as you want your side pockets to be)
finish off, weave ends
[if you want to see all of the pieces timestamp: 11:32]
you can sew the ramaining back panel of the bag with fabric like the video did (timestamp: 12:23) or you can fully crochet it. I haven't made it yet since I'm just writing the pattern first for easier work, but according to a commenter with the username Charlotte, that person said, and I quote, "I tried it and it's really simple, the 2 separate front pieces should be added together, just add more rows to a new front bottom piece and add the curve."
