Ex convicts aren’t exactly STAR witnesses. Low credibility. Even lower because he was an attorney. The jurors will decide not the public. Me personally, I think he will be fined and that will be the end of it. The IRS may have some inquiry afterwards. 2 tiered justice system. Also, Peckers testimony was enough to avoid a mistrial.

No one has enumerated through testimony an underlying offense the primary witness has been proven to lie in court, and cannot be accepted by the court as a credible witness.with no credible witness for the prosecution it Would either be withdrawn by the DA and the witnesses completely destroyed himself and can’t be relied on to take someone’s freedom. Or the judge with the Clare mist trial based on the fact that the court refuses to accept the witnesses testimony as the witness has proved to the court in the court that he is a liar and lied under oath and dismiss the witness committed perjury on the stand

1. That's not a mistrial. A mistrial would mean you want to restart the trial with a whole new jury.
2. He isn't the only witness.
3. His credibility is not determined this way, the jury makes that call.
4. There is also material evidence, such as calls between Trump and people involved in the payments, Trump personally signing all 34 checks and numerous financial documents all detailing the hiding of the payment as other expenses.

Years ago in the civil case between Daniels and Trump, Trump is on record as admitting the payment to Cohen was a reimbursement and not a payment for legal services.

I’m shocked this case didn’t get tossed as soon as his testimony ended. The prosecution witness admitted to committing far more serious crimes against the defendant. I’m assuming he did so because he knew the defense had discovered it. Cohen has every reason to make up whatever he can. He’s trying to avoid a long prison sentence. I’m curious if he was offered immunity. If he was, the prosecutor should be disbarred. You don’t waive more serious felonies to prosecute a weak case for minor crimes.
I spent many years in law enforcement and I’ve never even heard of this happening let alone witnessed it myself. If he’s found not guilty, prosecutors could be looking at serious professional and perhaps worse repercussions. At a minimum he’s got a civil case for violation of rights. Of course, like all lawyers do, judges protect their own. A prosecutor’s power in this country is out of control and there are essentially no real checks and balances anymore.
This Trial just guaranteed Trumps election victory.

@@TimeLord675 Cohen testified that he overcharged for legal fees when taking payment for the hush money. This overpayment was a theft from the Trump organization, as was the entire hush money payment, and was used to pay off Cohen for his services. Trump literally signed the checks for this.

Prosecutors use criminal witnesses all the time. The corroborating evidence is the link to the crime.

So the jury is left to ponder ALL the other witnesses evidence and then decide how much of Cohen's testimony (given his character is under question) they will take on board as being corroborating evidence.. i.e. it is not the principle evidence in the case. ..

The defense attorney makes Cohen look more like Trump. Trump hired him for a reason-- that he could depend on him acting like Trump would and could be depended on to carry Trump's orders.
