  • I will introduce some tongue exercises for P, T and K at the beginning or the end of a word. The goal is to be able to move quickly between these 3 parts of the tongue. Develop tongue control for speaking accuracy. For more tongue exercises, take my course on Consonants:
    on Skillshare: skl.sh/3b0ch1g
    or Udemy: www.udemy.com/...

00:23 you said CH : middle is that mean, your not use the tip of your tongue to create the sound or you arch your tongue to post-alveorlar or more back.
is that the same place for dg sound.
    Thank you for nice video.

Thank you for your question. You want to distinguish CH from T. T definitely uses the tip of the tongue. For CH, I could use the tip of my tongue, but I don't have to, and the focus shouldn't be on the tip. You want to use the blade of your tongue, a different section. When I make CH, the main contact with the roof of my mouth is the blade, not the tip. I could let the tip touch the roof and quickly roll the tongue back so the blade is doing the main contact, or I can leave the tip in the middle of my mouth, touching nothing. In this case, I'm slightly arching the tongue backward so only the middle touches the roof. Yes, CH has the same placement as J. Yes, post-alveolar is a correct description for the position for CH.
