Try using the SnakeLocks. I use it with the Diésel Minnows and get great action. Let me know what you think about them or use the 4sized hook for the D. Minnow.

if you want to fish a bucktail like lure I would strongly suggest a Buggs Fishing Lure. search for them here on youtube and fish them. we love them here along the upper texas gulf coast

Buck tail by far is one of my top lures and I can look into doing that for you
