This interview seemed tense, almost hostile. The host too... he wasn't giving Bill anything to work with. You could feel Bill kind of yearn for a different question
Yeah, I don't know. Bill Hader seems like the kind of person who gives out well thought out replies to questions when you let him. And I think this is one of those shows that work with more quality dialogue than quantity responses. Plus, this is five minutes long and that's almost fine for one or two questions given the fucktitude ton of entertainment segments in the media that would already try to answer all the other questions being repeatedly asked. As for the interviewer himself, he seemed approachable, if not slightly eager with the job.
When people give unsolicited advice or directions on social media my favorite response is "I don't take orders from mannequins. I know you're smooth down there"
Bill is very modest and a brilliant writer but I think the ultimate proof of his ability to just be an insanely amazing performer is the "Allen" sketch. Like holy shit, that could've been so bad if it wasn't for his ability to basically become a silent film star at whim. Genius guy for sure.
+Terry malone You're probably thinking of the Dateline parodies where he's emphasizing the host's apparent obsession with morbid details. Those were great lol. An answer 5 months late, but still!
The funniest skit that Bill wrote with John that didn't make it to air is one where Casey Kasem (Dana Carvey, also an excellent impressionist) and his son have an argument. Here's Bill talking about that with Kevin Pollack (also a very funny guy and good impressionist): ua-cam.com/video/3HZPkWYr2-4/v-deo.html
I love Bill Hader and it doesn't really change the joke/story but the Hell's Angels were hired by the Stones to do the Altamont show; not Monterey Pop.
What I gather from this video is that John Mulaney was the genius behind SNL for a good while.
2008 to 2013, and also the two (approaching 3) times he's come back to host SNL.
@@canaisyoung3601 1:33 This was the original news clip that inspired the SNL character: ua-cam.com/video/AtzG3wdF_IU/v-deo.html
Yep! Also his girlfriend works at Yoshinoya Beef Bowl
Yes and we already knew that
Absolutely
im sorry, the Canadian "they both look nice" would have been amazing lol it just sounds awesome.
they actually performed that sketch, its on snl's youtube channel
"I'm sorry," 😂😂😂
I'm Canadian, and I legit always say "they both look nice" when I see those "who wore it better" things haha.
I do, too! I always think it's stupid that they make women unwittingly compete against each other like that.
Oh god same
Fred armisen bill hader and John mulaney being friends is the best thing
"Your mother and I are separating"
Best club name of all time
Arya Pourtabatabaie yep!! That and .....Kevin?
That or BOOOOOOOOOF
SPICY is my favorite (with the voice)
I'm partial to the hissy sound Halloween club
My favorites are "...kevin?..." or "SPICY"
"They Both Look Nice."
That is a really good punchline.
Diane _ every dead sketch hader mentions in interviews I so desperately want to become second chance theaters
@@simsamsammie The Both Look Nice isn't a dead sketch. They did actually use that idea in a skit!
Why the hell is almost nobody laughing?! Bill is hilarious 😂
+Ma La because they did not put mike in front of the audience.
They are, you can barely hear it a couple times but they didn't mic the audience.
they are. there is no mic pointed to the audience
He’s giving a live interview. He’s very funny, but it’s just a different environment.
Rick Dryden thats what i got out of it
That Grenada puppet sketch was legit hilarious..his performance and the writing were just ridiculously funny.
Just watched the one with Seth as the puppet master guy, Bill was just Hilarious!! Thanks for the tip!
Wow I can't believe Bill Hader was able to give this interview in front of a real North Korean audience
i just spat all over my screen oh my god
@@thrynclair :Why did you spit all over your screen ?
@@stranraerwal can't help it it's an unfortunate reflex. im constantly spitting on people :/
@@thrynclair dying lmao
Lol....seriously, was there a "no noise" sign lit up the whole time? More mics on the audience, please!!!
“Because... they’re my friends.” So cute. X)
The crowd is probably laughing - they just aren't mic'ed up
John Mulaney was behind Herb Welch?! I respect him a lot now.
This genius had public speech anxiety and was the best SNL cast ever.
Imagine being in this audience and not laughing at Bill Hader. Imagine.
Bill's inner eye highlight is popping
that scene hader mentions with the puppets and seth macfarlane is one of the funniest comedy skits, hands down...i've watched it at least 30 times
This interview seemed tense, almost hostile. The host too... he wasn't giving Bill anything to work with. You could feel Bill kind of yearn for a different question
Sounds like you're projecting. I didn't get any of that at all.
Yeah, I don't know. Bill Hader seems like the kind of person who gives out well thought out replies to questions when you let him. That puppet sketch he was in was hilarious!
The puppet class skit is one of the funniest skits ever.
When people give unsolicited advice or directions on social media my favorite response is "I don't take orders from mannequins. I know you're smooth down there"
“You can of hairspray”
that crowd/interviewer isn't a good setting for comedy
It looks like it might be a promo for inside out.... Not his demographic, I suppose
+gorobot the presenter's incomfortable laugh at 3.49 points it out
That crowd sucks. They have more reserve than the military.
No crowd or “ambient” mics, that’s all. If you listen closely, the host and the crowd are laughing.
gorobot t
that "time life" thing made me cry laughin, and I do not know why
4:53 your mother and i are separat- (aggressive outro music)
Mulaney & Hader & Armisen. Someone make me one of those ugly shirts with those names on it.
I think the audience are deaf Bil Hader is too funny!
Bill is very modest and a brilliant writer but I think the ultimate proof of his ability to just be an insanely amazing performer is the "Allen" sketch. Like holy shit, that could've been so bad if it wasn't for his ability to basically become a silent film star at whim. Genius guy for sure.
Did anybody else notice the shadow on Bill Haders shirt looks like Mr. T ?
holy crap
I love how he gives so much credits to the writers. ❤
The puppet class sketch is a SNL top 10 of all time
bill talks about that time life voice bit on conan o'brien's podcast and it's probably my fave thing
Which stefon sketch was it where he recommended the
"Your mother and I are separating" nightclub? 😂
a year late but its this one hahaha
Weekend Update: Stefon on Spring Break ua-cam.com/video/NkdlM_vO3I8/v-deo.html
"Your mother and I are separating!"
The puppet classes from the guy in grenada were amazing. Epic, best ever type material
I'm sorry this is the best interview I've ever seen. The crowd is completely quiet and the host is just losing it hahah so weird!
The curls the curls the curls the curls the-
The puppet class ones are some of my favorites
The beginning sketch that he was talking about was probably the genesis for Documentary Now!
That puppeteer character always makes me laugh so hard I cry!
Luv luv luv luv Hader. Hader forever!
can remember all these sketches
0:19 baby!
3:45 "I had nothing!!" Yeah...like this audience. Who gave them warm milk?!?!
Am I old or do I actually remember the hits from mouth to mouth. So funny!💙
So nobody in the audience has seen any of the skits he references? What the heck?
The puppet-class sketch was so funny.
Tough crowd
I wish they would post who wrote these sketches when they post the youtube videos. These writers deserve more credit than they get.
I was wondering where the Stephon sounds came from!💙
+Heather Estes He said in a CBS This Morning Interview that he based the voice off a guy who worked at a coffee shop in Chelsea.
+CKSuperLevis love him. From the same home town, but appreciated him before I knew. Ty for the 1 up!
It's a very enthused audience ! Must have been fun for Bill !
Bill is so nervous 😂❤️
I guess this guy’s next interview is the entire cast of Walking Dead zombies. That audience was just depressing
it’s at least good that he and john kinda got their canadian news sketch with the cbc parody when bill hosted in 2018
This is the best part of UA-cam
4:23 they're all on their cell phones or what? The audience is dead.
Shhhhh. Im trying to hear him.
.... ....
Thank you.
What's wrong with the audience? hm...
this seems like the kind of thing I'd be excited to go to, but then about ten minutes in I'd be checking Maps for places in the area
So awesome
Is anybody else distracted with those blue lights at the back? It's like an optical illusion.
how can someone so funny have such a long career working with John Mulaney?
that puppet sketch was hilarious
Looking for the Bill Hader skit where he keeps exclaiming things..ahhhhhh
+Terry malone You're probably thinking of the Dateline parodies where he's emphasizing the host's apparent obsession with morbid details. Those were great lol. An answer 5 months late, but still!
All I can concentrate on is the chunk missing out of the plaster in that bloody wall. These guys not heard of backdrops?
Yes. .it was..very funny..and when I watched Keith Morrison doing dateline, he was close
Comedians are geniuses.
No shit! The first time I saw that video of the reporter my first thought was that it had to be where Herb Welch came from
I see they got new chairs since Bill Burr was there 😂😂😂
Sometimes I sit on my couch and take videos of UA-cam videos on my phone.
Dear Comments Section,
The audience doesn't have a mic on them. They are laughing. You can't hear them.
U can hear them. The crowd is barely laughing. Insane... bcuz he's a riot!
Thank you!! And there are times when you can hear them showing that they are having a great time.
No body nodded their heads " yes" to puppet class!
I am Canadian and I can introduce you to some who you would hate so much you would want to punch them.
This interviewer looks like John Mulaney and Ben Affleck had a baby.
Wow tough crowd
“They burned my friend!”
They both look nice
this guy is funny funny funny
He sounds like a white Cleveland brown
Hahahahah, the guy that does him is a white redhead 🤣
It was Altamonte.
This was on my bday

Great accent!!!!
Aol. Still exists?
Do the people in the audience even know who he is? lol
I love Bill Hader and it doesn't really change the joke/story but the Hell's Angels were hired by the Stones to do the Altamont show; not Monterey Pop.
Holy crap! Give the poor guy a mic he can wear.
Okay the moving background is tripping me out
Does he have curly hair?
bill hader could almost play ted bundy
The interviewer sounds like Seth
someone slap the guy in the front for recording vertically...
Actually, the Stones and Hell's Angels were at Altamont, not Monterey Pop. OK...I'll see myself out.
Altamount was where angel's killed a guy stones hired them
what aol...?
When did Ben Affleck start doing interviews?
That crowd is painful
Why is nobody laughing this is awful Bill is so funny
Ricky looks like Ben Affleck's long lost little brother....or son?
