- 📍SANYA, HAINAN, CHINA
In this long episode we explore rainforests, tropical coral beaches, crystal clear water, and even see flamingos! Hainan is so South in China that it's practically Vietnam. The climate is warm and tropical, the seafood and coconut chicken are delicious, and these beaches may just be the best in China.
This video is a compilation of our two Sanya travel vlogs, all in one bingeable episode, but with EXCLUSIVE BONUS CONTENT.

Great commentary, feels like a British travel show I used to watch on the travel channel
Thanks so much, it's a little bit different from my weekly Shanghai vlogs, but it's these travel ones that I enjoy making the most 😊❤
tht is outstanding channel- :))
Thank you! 🥰🥰
lots of lovely places and beaches. it is good for people wanting to holiday within China because they can experience tropical beaches without needing passports, visas etc. A £50 meal and you were not even full. I enjoyed this trip, I feel as though I had a wee break too 👍😀
Yes exactly, it was a very easy journey to get there. Hainan does have slightly different visa requirements so if you book through a group tour some passports don’t require a visa which is great to know when the borders reopen! It’s good to note that not everywhere is that expensive! ☺️☺️
@@ExpatNatt thank you Natt as you always take the time to reply to messages 😃
@@JohnnysCafe_ if you take the time to watch my video, the least I can do is reply! ❤️❤️
That coral beach part in your video kind of reminded me of the shoreline up in the north of Western Australia, where pristine coral beaches stretch tens of miles along the sun-baked Gobi desert. People are just so amazed how mother nature could create such beautiful landscapes.
Funny you should say that, I was just researching Western Australia a few hours ago and someone had shared a beautiful coral beach there and it reminded me of Hainan! (I’m forever planning adventures I’ll probably never have hahah)
We've been to Sanya China back in 1998 beautiful beaches just like Hawaii we've been there many times by boat or by plane.
tropical vibes 😊🌴🌺🍹
Great video, Natt! I went to Sanya recently, it is beautiful.
Thanks, Ben! Yes, I remember watching your videos when you were out there! You were lucky to miss all the Chinese New Year tourists 😂
Nice to see a little bit more honesty in a vlog. Been in Hainan since the start of September, spent a week in Lingshui and now based in Sanya. Hawkers all over the beach and always seem to make a beeline towards me being a 6'4 westerner, and yes, some of the "popular" tourist spots get stupidly busy too. We've noticed a difference in pricong too when they see me, compaired to when my Chinese wife is on her own...😅 Still trying to find a nice snorkeling area close to Sanya, any recommendations? As Sanya beach is a bit muddy/murky water tbh, due to being close to the river estuary.
Good filming and editing! I got a good preview for my future trip to Sanya.
Thank you!❤️
Oh my God, i love you two, good english girl and gentle chinese boy, good combination.❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️
Nice
Thank you for watching 🥰
this hotel looks nice
You have been to so many cities in China, which city in China do you like the most?
That’s a really tough question! I love everywhere I have been but for different reasons. The climate in Hainan is wonderful and the best for beaches, but the mountains of Guangxi are wonderful. For traditional Chinese villages, Lishui is very nice. But ultimately Shanghai will always have my heart as I think it is very beautiful and it’s a very convenient place to live with good transport links to other places 🥰
So dreamy
Thank you for watching ❤️❤️
Hainan is a really nice island. It's a bit of a hidden gem still.
We visited at the busiest time of the year, but if you go off season it can definitely feel as though you have the whole island to yourself! 🥰
First
Yay! Thank you for watching! ❤
i think sanya is the best place to retire
I could imagine retiring there... perhaps we can explore more places before we decide on retirement 😉😉
I just saw King Charles III Coronation Concert it makes me miss London soo much. I booked a trip during the London Olympics but it was a set tour so we went to the destinations like Paris Amsterdam and I wish the tour group had made London the date for New Years Eve. the House Music in UK is just next level soo good 😊🎶
London is wonderful however in peak times like New Year’s Eve it’s hours and hours of just standing in a crowd with no toilet nearby 😂😂 it’s still beautiful though, I cry every time I see fireworks hahaha 🤣
@@ExpatNatt London Nightlifes fun you have really great House Music 😊🎶 I think Berlin has the whole underground rave going too recently but I havent been yet heard theres long lines too. Barcelona has good house music too I saw Porter Robinson by chance at Razzmatazz
@@ExpatNatt I saw you're from near Oxford a friend drove us there its a really nice town more chill vibes and really charming. I'm from Usa I wish countries were closer like how it is in Europe and Asia theres a lot to explore!
@@merrimerrio yeah that’s what I love about Europe it’s so easy to hop to the next country and learn about a new culture.
great video... can you share how did you get into hainan? have you heard 30 days visa-free stay ? we are thinking about doing that . but quiet nervous .. thanks
We actually live in China so have visas which allow us to travel in and out of China and to different regions so didn’t need to apply for visas. Hainan does have a 30 day visa free exception but I believe you have to book the tour through certain accredited travel/tourism companies. You could check your governments website for Hainan for more information on how to get there visa free.
@@ExpatNatt thanks。
Coconut falling on a head won't kill, but a durian would.
Death by Durian… couldn’t think of a more embarrassing obituary 😅😅

Hhhh ☺️❤️
Think of small crabs as baby versions of adult crabs. 😂 they are very different from spiders and their furry legs. Crabs have hard shells
It’s the 8 legs that scare me, and don’t forget the pinchers!!! Although I’d rather hold a crab than a tarantula 😅😅
must go to sanya 呆呆island bay
I will go next time! We didn’t have much time this trip. Maybe when the weather is a bit warmer I’ll go again ;)
You should have shared your crab story! Funny how you still don't like them
HAHAHA that honestly scarred me for life… 22 years later and still not a fan of crabs 😂😂
Hey! Could you please tell me an address of South South restaurant? Thanks!
中国海南省三亚市吉阳区迎宾路与川中路五巷交叉口北200米
This is the address in Chinese to put into the maps, I am not sure of the English address, but it was in a small shopping mall area.
@@ExpatNatt thanks a lot! But I cannot copy it( was it in da dong hai?
The English is Chuanzhong Road, 5th Alley and Yingbin Road intersection if that helps you to put it in the map. About half way between Sanya railway station and Linchunling Forest Park. I think the area is Jiyang? It’s the Guangchang branch. Hope that helps!
@@ExpatNatt thanks a lot for such a detailed explanation
