    The MAJORITY of ancient Hebrew scholars point out the one word that is used concerning the act of David towards Bathsheba is correctly rendered as rape. Enough throwing stones at the woman who had every right to feel it would be odd for someone to stare at her bathing on her own roof. Today in Europe going to the beach or pool naked is considered normal and not asking for unwanted sexual attention. Americans are considered odd for thinking so. King David sent Officials to fetch her not musicians to serenade her. I will not be subscribing to someone who salaciously tries to mock her reputation when God through Nathan cleared her of wrong doing.

    What if Bathsheba walked away from David's advances and honored her vows to Uriah this probably would have made David more indignant because he was a king with the power to manipulate situations to his own advantage.

    its not bathsheba's fault. she cant go agaisnt the will of the king

      It was her fault, Why was she outside, taking a bath on the roof where anyone could see her ? Women don't understand when they dress to attract men to lust after them. They will have to stand before the FATHER, and give an account, if they don't repent, & I am a woman. Women that dress that way, is why they get husbands that are cheaters, how we act, talk, dress etc, is what kind of man we will attract. And vice versa 2 KINGS 11 :2-26

      @@1cathereThe bible describes women as weak vessels! In my African culture, southern Zambia, if you are caught in adultery, as a man you pay 10 herds of cattle while a woman is forgiven because she scammed by a clever man.

      @Peekaboo-Kitty Рік тому

      Yes she could have. She didn't have any problems going against the will of the King when David was lying on his deathbed and she lied about his "promise" of making her son King, when David made no such promise ever!

    None of us know what happened ,we were not there. Perhaps Bathsheba was feeling a little amorous considering her husband being away for long periods of time, and David being a man of prestige was very inviting to her, so with that being said let us all learn the lesson

  • @dionneking8

    They both were guilty she gave herself to David and he had her their first child taken into god as a form of score settlement as her innocent husband was killed due to this but they had more children and truly loved one another 13:34

    This story doesn't make sense. David commited this heinous act yet he went ahead to marry her. This is the woman who became the mother of Solomon who built a temple for God. What kind of moral lessons is this imparting to us?

      @@lieutenantcolonel8576 are you perfect? Have you ever made a mistake and only really realised the gravity after? David even didn't realise the magnitude of what he had done , as he metted out punishment when the prophet Nathan shared a parable concerning his action, only then did he realise how wicked his heart truly was. Jeremiah 17 reiterates this by saying the heart of man is desperately wicked. We will often debate that till we mess up where we never thought we would and realise how wicked we are and call for God's mercy. He didn't have it easy like you want to make it seem, God told him the sword would not depart from his house, the child he bore with her died, Amon raped Tamar, Absalom killed Amon and came for his father, he was humiliated, but there's a place in God for people who don't rest in themselves but and trust in God for their lot. He accepted all the negative actions that occurred after this act without questioning God but rather constantly asking Him for help and Mercy...God knows a genuine mistske from a deliberate action. Every biblical character mirrors us in some form , reminding us of what we all could potentially be without constantly being dependent on God. We could never measure up except by God's mercy and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. God bless you 🙏
