On today's episode, we program a smart key to a Dodge Ram (1500)! If you want more info on the SGM or Star Module, please follow this link: www.americanke...
The owner of this truck was on a time crunch and unfortunately I wasn't able to explicitly show it off at the time. I wrote a guide on the SGM that explains the entire concept and actually shows off how to identify which is Can Hi and which is Can Lo. I did this specifically because colors can change from vehicle to vehicle or whichever location that you happen to plug into. www.americankeysupply.com/pages/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-chrysler-security-gateway Hope it helps! -Lira
@@franciscoduarte8249 They were pointed out at 1:48. There's one that's really easy to get to in the passenger side foot well if you remove the plastic piece that makes up the kick panel cover/door sill. There's also one up on the driver's side facing toward the middle of the vehicle.
When using the swg bypass cable plugged into the star connector do you have full functions with the scan tool? ( by directional controls and clearing codes) or do you also need a 12+8 cable? Thanks
The green Star port for a 2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn is on the left side. I got the white plug that can fit into it by just plugging it into one of the empty slots, for my XHorse Key Tool Plus pad. It seems a lot easier than using the 12+6 cable that plugs into the FCA box , since getting to the FCA Box requires taking apart a bunch of stuff. Would you do the same?
Remove headlight switch is easier, says to probe green and yellow in first position but these may be different colors. Still one color should be green or yellow even if its just a stripe.
Car was broken into thieves try reprogram another key so by doin that my key fob does not work as if they wiped my program from my fob so my question is can reprogram my same key back to my car?????
The AutoProPAD doesn't have any of the autoauth stuff built in, unfortunately. It was something that was looked into but hasn't been instituted as of now.
Show the connection smarty
Nice video, but you were not clear on which wire to clamp with the special Chrysler wire?

Will a Xtool d7 be able to program a Dodge Ram key fob?
I'm confused can you help me out .. I have a maxicom key programmer so you saying I have to by a bypass in order to reprogram my keys
Hello, can there be several connectors to bypass or is there only 1 in the truck?
In the video I can see you have the star connection behind the stereo, why don’t you mention that location?
I have a Ram 2013 and it won’t give me the option to read pin
Can you take a programmed fob from a different ram vehicle and reprogram it to another Ram pickup?
No
Car was broken into thieves try reprogram another key so by doin that my key fob does not work as if they wiped my program from my fob so my question is can reprogram my same key back to my car?????
yes but it will need to be reprogrammed
You don't have to use the bypass cable with this model?
You do, I mentioned the Star connector locations at 1:48
I'll assume you need internet to pull pin?
I'm actually not 100% sure. I was within wifi range when I shot this but it didn't explicitly say anything about it.
you don't, just tried it on a 2019 challenger and it pulled the pin no internet required. I have the autoptopad lite
I cannot see the pin on my 2013 Ram
I assumed it needs an internet connection for everything.
Can't you just use autoauth instead of the bypass?
