Love this!!! I always struggle when people tell me I have high standards and to ask me what kind of guy I’m looking for. I’m like uhhh that’s hard to explain. It’s more of a feeling and knowing when I’m in someone’s presence. It’s more about how we are together. There’s really no height, weight, salary, even age. And To the point of Jack and Titanic though…. I think certain people tend to mean more to us… and I’m saying this from experience… because they or the experience with them have introduced us to a different side of ourselves. It’s transformed us. That experience has freed us in a way. Made us stronger. Helped us see life with a different lense. Taught us unconditional love. I can go on, but you get the idea.
Lindsey, you are just vocalizing so much of what constantly goes on in my brain. I had to pause around the 12-min mark when you mentioned not being enough in the mundane because I felt an overwhelming wave of emotion. Yes, yes, and yes. I always worry about not being enough in the mundane day-to-day life. Like, why would he want to be with me in those moments?
If only I knew this info in my teens, I wouldn't have had the fantasy of wanting someone when they left me in pieces.
Let me know when women stop dating based off their “ego” part of the list.
