I worked for Walgreens for 12 years... this is normal. Like someone else commented its by design and to catch you on the way home from work l, not wanting to go to another store. We all are going to have to go back to growing our own food. What is going on these days is sick and evil conglomerates taking advantage. 😒
Hood is a name brand for dairy products. I think it's mid Atlantic up through North east.
CVS is not where you want to buy groceries even before the inflation hit.
Our groceries are a lot cheaper in the grocery stores. I checked today on price of eggs. Not at Walmart. They were $11.99 for name brand not store brand. Store brand were $4.79 doz.
Go to Aldi's they don't carry name brand but prices are better.

I shop at Dollar tree for household items Then Dollar general Then Aldi For meat Aldi and Wegmans Wegmans is pricey on general merchandise but store brands are a good value Their meat and prepared food has rigorous quality checks ! I buy mainly chicken breast and hamburger 90% Buy family pack and place serving portions in freezer. Cheese is best bought in bricks and grated at home . The veg is better quality and can be bought by lb . Only two here so only get what I need for the week . Prices are high all over and will get worse ! But canned veg and meat like tuna can be purchased ahead of need . Check best buy date and stock what you can . A little extra each week will help because prices are going up all the time ! ❤️
I've been telling folks to stock up. I've even been putting up water. I watch what they're doing. Not what they're saying. I read their executive orders. We're in trouble. Stock up now. Maybe when a loaf of bread gets to $100 they will listen. You have to have ears to hear and eyes to see. I'm not trying to frighten you. I'm trying to help you. ❤❤❤
We have a few gallons and then my husband decided to invest in water purifying stuff like smart straws, some sort of water bladders that have built in filters, uv ight purifiers, etc!

Yeah that's REDICULAS! It's like that our cvs too. I get all that at Walmart for a fraction of the price. I can't stand people that look down their nose at Walmart. I no y'a see some characters in there but so what? I'm not paying 2× and 3x the price to shop elsewhere! Walmart is closer and cheaper. Ya might see some weirdos but #1 If ya look they're everywhere #2 ya ain't gotta take em home wit cha!
$10 for Oatmeal! Wow! It's hard when you just need like one or two things on your way home & you're already in CVS or Walgreens to get your scripts & you don't wanna drive to Walmart afterwards. They get us no matter what!
Maybe it's just around here, but CVS has always been super expensive. The CVS stores here don't even have groceries, let alone a refrigerated section. Places like Dollar General and Food Lion are the places to go to spend less. The prices you're showing in this video are unbelievable to me. This is in Boston, right? Is everything generally more expensive up there in the northeast compared to our beloved NC?
They were generally the same. A bit more perhaps but nothing like this. Honestly, I think the grocery store proper is even more expensive!

Cvs an Walgreen's have always been crazy expensive in Indiana dollar general too, the best place is the dollar tree an aldis, sometimes payless an walmart Aldis an dollar tree will always win though....
Its expensive everywhere. I no longer understand why stores call themselves: "dollar store" , "dollar tree" "99cent"store if everything in it is like 3 bucks AT LEAST.
Our dollar tree should be $1.25 tree.
Cvs has always been high. When my son was a baby I needed some little tummies gas drops. They were $14 at cvs. Just down the road at Walmart the exact same thing was $3 and came w a free pair of baby nail clippers. The only time I go in cvs now is if they have what I'm looking for on sale or if I'm picking up a prescription
It’s convenience pricing. Nobody heads to CVS with their grocery list in hand. Still those prices are a slap in the face.
Those prices are crazy! I get my meds there because of insurance also but don’t anymore. A few months ago I stopped at one because it was convenient, don’t even remember what for, but the price was higher than I expected, it was more than my local store. As an experiment, in the next few days I visited 2 more, each time chose stores in richer parts of town. I found the richer the neighborhood, the higher the prices for the exact same thing! I had always thought prices would be the same in all the stores part of the CVS chain!

Those prices are insane. I live in Sacramento CA, and ordering in from Amazon Fresh is cheaper on those items from those manufacturers, and of course Walmart and my local salvage grocer are a lot less than Amazon on most things. In my experience, any time you have to buy something besides medication in a drugstore, it's going to be higher than you would pay anywhere else.
Last time we visited Alaska about 6 years ago this is about what you paid for food all the time. I could only imagine how expensive food is now.

I figured that too. To be honest though, a lot of the stuff I saw at the actual grocery store was higher though!
