What I like most about Juan and Rhylan is how soft spoken they are. It's so rare for young people to be so mature and soft spoken. Most young youtubers are the opposite - trying to be loud, exciting, funny etc. That's why these guys stand out. They are so sweet. You don't see those types of personalities very often.
You should do “Chat GPT plans our day”! If you haven’t used it it’s incredible you can put in such specific asks and it can put together itineraries for different cities and include food recs as well!
Wow, what a cool concept!! Thank you so much for the suggestion, we are not at all familiar with Chat GPT yet, and will have to start playing around with it!
Moving to London for my masters in 3 months and this is just the perfect guide for spending!!! Thank you so much for making this video ,both of you are my absolute favourite precious beings! I rediscovered your content recently as my boyfriend and I are planning a year of travel around Japan, Bangkok and Indonesia and your past vlogs make me so excited to see those places with my person. You seem so meaningful with the way you spend your time and interact with each other, it's really beautiful to see. And having comfort-watched for so long it's crazy seeing you guys filming in Wandsworth and going to all my local spots!
Hi! Wow thank you so much for this comment, that's so beautiful for us to hear ❤️ We are super excited for you to get out there and experience all of those incredible places with your partner 🥰 and it makes our hearts happy that our past vlogs have made you even more excited! Wandsworth is so beautiful, we love this area of London! You are very lucky to have called it home at some point ❤️❤️
You two are seriously my favorite vloggers! I have watched so many videos about London, but I have seen and learned sooooo much from yours! Thanks for sharing prices too.
Hii ! London looks so beautiful. The music & this video are so warm…best thing to see before class. Hope you’re both healthy and loving your time there 💌
I think those prices are pretty similar to what we pay in New Zealand (in the cities). Things are just so expensive generally now. There are cheaper ways of doing things of course (I stayed in backpackers whenever I stayed in London) but if you're staying for a long time and working, then you can probably claim things like accommodation as a tax-deductible expense.
Yeah, the prices seem to be going up no matter where in the world we visit. And you are absolutely correct, there are definitely cheaper alternatives - but this was just to show a typical day in London based off of our usual lifestyle, which you all see in the videos every week! And yeah exactly, due to us coming to London for work, the Airbnb & a lot of other expenses are completely tax deductible! (:
It’s so cool that you both are able to explore and move to London together. Having been multiple times, it’s really so much fun to get to experience and share these travel memories with family and/or friends. I saw one of your travel blogs to Phoenix , are you guys originally from Arizona?
Honestly I wasn’t too surprised with the prices in London. They are really on par with our prices in NYC. Of course there are always ways to cut expenses. It is an expensive city and you just have to plan for it. Thanks for giving us the numbers! ❤
Yes, it is definitely most comparable with NYC.. we've been looking into taking a trip there and Airbnb's are actually even more expensive than here in London 😅😅
London is pretty expensive, living just outside the city you'll definitely see the difference in prices, theres always cheaper alternatives for food but you wouldn't get the quality as much. So glad you love St Katherine's Dock, its one of my favourite spots and in the summer its beautiful and happy you went to and enjoyed Emilias, the food is delicious 😁Love to you guys as always ❤😊
Yes definitely, if we were to move here long term, we would most likely live just outside of London for the lower prices of everything 😅 St Katherine's is one of our faves as well 😩 SO beautiful! Lots of love to you too, thanks for watching ❤️❤️
@@juanmarcelandrhylan oh for sure, there's so many areas just outside the city close to Greenwich (which is my favourite place) that are affordable and you have great transport links into the city which takes less than an hour 😁. Always love ❤️ ❤️
The money spending in London is so accurate. I was there for fashion week and I was spending approximately that amount a day. Only accommodation was a bit more expensive. around 280 pounds a day for 2. Maybe that is due to the short stay. Keep going ❣
Hey guys ❤ Your vlogs don’t ever stop to amaze me!! I love the way you show the city and all the places you visited look amazing especially St. Katherine’s dock 😍 Also it is very interesting that you show the cost of living in different places of the world ❤️❤️ Looking forward for more London content and sending you lots of love as always 🥰🥰
Fierce expensive; a) Breakfast (make your own at home), b) Lunch (pack a lunchbox - two tier lunch boxes are available, protein bar snacks also c) Outdoor coffee's are acceptable (use Greggs, or McDonalds, or just bring a flask), d) then you have money left for activities. I live 45 minutes out from Waterloo and when we go to the theatre this is what we do. Casual dining in London (without intention or purpose) will ruin the budget.
Great advice! We aren't necessarily budgeting, as we are here to enjoy the city to the most of our abilities while we are here (including lots of food haha), and create content that we love - which requires us to be out & about constantly. But, we could definitely see how people spend significantly less here!
I’ve been to London at least 7-8 times so have done all the touristy things. However, we are taking our 18 year old niece in late May to London as high school graduation present. She is so excited & has never been out of the US. Also, she can drink so we’d like to take her to a few cool clubs/pubs. Any suggestions on what to do and see for an 18 y/o? We’ve asked her and she said she doesn’t know. Since my husband and I have been there a bunch, we want to gear it towards her. We have 5 full days there.
Ahhh so excited for you!! And well it is definitely much colder here, only because of the humidity and the wind 😅 but, fortunately for you, it seems to finally be warming up here!
My sister moved to London (her dream city to live) almost 2 years ago but she's moving back to California in 2 months. She makes really good money (6 figures) but even for her and her large salary...she says everything is just too expensive to live a comfortable lifestyle so she's moving back to the states. It's a fun city though and nice to visit once in a while if you just save up enough to enjoy all it has to offer.
We completely understand where she's coming from! London is one of the most unique and special cities that we've ever been to (definitely one of our top 5 faves), but we couldn't see ourselves living here long term either - because of how expensive it is, and the weather too 😅 we miss seeing the sun sometimes..
As a Londoner I really feel this vlog made the city look sooo mind blowingly expensive it may put non Londoners off!! There's noo way you need to spend over £100 on just breakfast and lunch, goodness me! Maybe you could do a comparison vlog - cheap eats in London, you just need to Google cheap eats London and soo many yummy, cool places come up.Just a suggestion, still love your content, but yes as a Londoner I was shocked!
Hey, thank you for the feedback 🤍 We never claimed this was going to be a budgeted version of a day in London. Every week, we post a vlog, and in those vlogs there is lots of eating out at restaurants like the ones we showed in this video. The point of this vlog was only to show how much WE spend in a typical day in London. We did the same concept in Bangkok and showed a full day of eating out, didn't cook a meal at home, and the activities we did were not all free - yet it came out to a quarter of the price. So, while we definitely could have intentionally looked for the cheapest possible restaurants to make this day less expensive, it still doesn't change the fact that when compared with other major cities in the world - London is significantly more expensive. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just reality.
@@juanmarcelandrhylan yes definitely London is expensive, totally, there is no denying that! I just felt this vlog made it look like you couldn't get a good deal, and maybe to a unknowing non-Londoner it may make our city look quite ruthless! So i just felt as someone born & raised and still living here that's the perspective i got. You have to remember the areas most people think of as London are the mega expensive ones, central London etc. Which Londoner's dont always frequent. If people are willing to do the research, areas like Walthamstow and Bromley are much cheaper but still considered London. So maybe your vlog could have distinguished central London prices from other areas, rather then lumping London into just one area. Happy vlogging!
As a Londoner I have a love/hate relationship with my city. It is an amazing city, probably now the food capital of the World for its unrivalled variety of good quality products. Of course like every city there’s plenty of junk food for the unsuspecting tourist. London’s attractions are legendary, sometimes overwhelmed with tourists in the Summer but you can escape the worst of that with careful planning. What annoys me as an architectural historian, is the allowing of too many 3rd rate modern buildings which in some areas have completely destroyed the city’s unique heritage. Fortunately this doesn’t apply everywhere. Yes, London is expensive so if you visit on a low budget unfortunately you’ll miss out on much of the best this city can offer.
Thank you! I love your content and this is pretty accurate and as you two mentioned, you always find ways to lower the prices. I don’t think London is as expensive as everyone says (if we avoid overthinking about the accommodation lol), I’m from a third world country and I’d say that I pay about the same or even more some days. In London you have the advantage that you can find pretty much everything if you commit to search :) ❤

Yesss HelloFresh is SO good, it's been a lifesaver for us budget wise - as grocery shopping at the moment is quite expensive, on top of time consuming..
