Thank you for sharing. It’s great that you included the active games at the end of the video as well. Looking forward to the review of Foundations C!

That was amazing! I had been back and forth on whether to get LOE or All About Reading... Definitely leaning toward LOE now.... Were all the games in the teacher's manual?

Yes they were! There are more as well. LOE is all about active learning and games to make it fun especially in foundations.

How did your daughter do with the OUGH phonogram at first? It definitely is one of the harder ones for sure. Now that your daughter has completed Level C, is she reading OUGH words fluently?

Haha...the OUGH! That required lots of practice...so learning the o,o,o ow, uf, of sounds took probably a month to get it down...but applying it was another thing because she's not very vocal so she would try a couple in her head and if it didn't work the first couple times she'd give up. Now that's she's done with D (the video review will be up soon) I'd say she has had enough practice with reading words like though through and such that she just knows them. I didn't hold her back because that phonogram was tricky. We kept going and by the end of C they have learned all the sounds they will ever need honestly (maybe a few foreign language exceptions and less common phonograms like ce=sh for ocean). She can pick up any book and just read it and it's that practice (and probably decoding when she gets stuck on sounding a word with hard phonograms like OUGH that she reads around it which helps her figure the word out and get practice that way) Keep going it works! It's just one phonogram...if you think about it all the sight words kids have to memorize normally in comparison...if all else fails have them memorize the 5 ough words and that will just get rid of that hurdle!

@@Crochelina Thank you for your very well thought out reply and suggestion to learn the 5 OUGH words. We are definitely sticking with LOE and are set to move onto Level C. I can't wait to see your Level D review!
