Thank you so much for this video. Having grown up in Colorado I'm so glad that you were able to compare the two states. It is extremely dry and dusty here. Right after you dust there's a layer of it 😅
We are looking now in your area . Planning on a trip over that way next week. Sold this place in Texas. Need 3/2 or morebr/bath. Need fenced yard but if cheap enough we can build a fence.
USM is a large university, with a small school setting. Hattiesburg is a great town, one of the best in Mississippi, be sure and check out the video posting later today on the top 5 cities to live in MS.
My cousin’s daughter left after a week men roaming the dorm (and stuff I ain’t telling here) and she was too scared to stay. I went to college there in 1970 before the country embraced insanity and condoned criminal behavior. We were watched like a hawk by dorm mothers and sniffed for alcohol and everything else when picking up a date back then.
Hi Donna, my fiancee and I are planning a vacation to Mississippi. We're really excited to visit some of the natural wonders of the state, like Red Bluff, Sky Lake, and the Cypress Preserve. What other areas would you recommend? We're also really excited to come and eat some good food. We've heard a LOT about southern BBQ, what would be the best place or city to go for that?
If you're into History, Check out the town of Natchez...it has a lot of cool stuff. When you get to Jackson, check out Pig and Pint BBQ or The Hickory Pit!.
Born there raised in a another state went back to be with family left after family passed away.In small towns they are very clannish and you are a outsider.Dont do it if you have no family or friends. They are last in many important aspects of life such as education, medical and good paying jobs. There are people down there that work 2 jobs just to make enough money to live.Crime is also very high especially burgery and robbery.Other than that it is a beautiful state with a lot of hunting and fishing opportunities.
@@GeorgiaPeach513 Indeed, but does this extend to college towns, as well? It has been my experience that college towns tend to be more liberal or, at least, centrist in their thinking. Does this hold true at, say, Ole Miss? Thanks.
Mississippi sounds like a utopia if you are white. What if you are Black, Hispanic, Nativity American or Asian. I've heard the number one thing to look out for is the institutional racism. You said that Mississippi is so friendly and named the hospitality state. When Jackson was having water problems did Madison run to their aid?
I would say be careful about the rumors you hear. The people in Mississippi are very friendly, especially compared to other states. Find me a state where there's no racism or discrimination. Thankfully we live in a free country where citizens are free to elect the people that will help make it better.
Your First sentence tells me you are just Lookin for trouble. Most people here are about as nice & friendly to you as You are to them. But if that’s your attitude maybe you should keep movin.
My wife was born in the Philippines and looks asian. We moved to MS in 1994 and she had no issues at all. Everyone was very friendly to her. It helped that she talked english. She has lots of friends including older "white" ladies. The neighborhood women exchange flowers and bulbs with her for landscaping. It sounds like to me you might just be a troll from some other state and have probably never even been to MS. Instead of throwing insults and looking for something to complain about in another state, perhaps you should look at yourself.? I mean take a hard look.

Used to live on the coast. Miss it.

@LivinginCentralMississippi thank you soo much I will do that
Trying to talk my wife into leaving MS. Gulport doesnt bring me joy and the humidity sucks.
The humidiy is tough for some, but still better than the extreme dry weather in some areas. Have you checkout out Central MS?
We would love to move down from Canada but even for two college educated professionals immigration is difficult
so sorry to hear that Mike! Don't give up!!
Thank you for your very informative video 🎉 Do you know if in Madison or Brandon are middle- and highschools with the IB program ?
looks like the nearest IB is in Jackson...about a 20 -30 minute commute from Brandon or Madison.
Come check out Raymond MS! Cool little town! Y’all be sure to stop by and say hi at Benjamin’s Custom Framing and Fine Art LLC there too!
And, Trumpers are everywhere. If you aren't a hard right conservative, you are a unicorn in Mississippi.
So quit talking politics and no one will know what you are. Problem solved. Simple.
@wesgraham2262 it isn't talk. Just look at all the idiots with Trump signs in their yards.
How is Mississippi for those who are not conservative, but more left of center and not church goers?
@@curtisthomson4209 well it is a Bible Belt state

I would say yes the college towns are a little more liberal.

Why would Madison aid Jackson. Everything you said is ridiculous. Keep your dumb woke ass away from here.
