What an inspiring video. It moves us to be like him in this age which is exactly like his time- The authorities are against us and Christians have grown lukewarm.

    Saint John Chrysostom
    Saint John Chrysostom
To me, he is a star
I look at it every day
So distant, so far, so bright
    Up in the sky
    Next to the Virgin Mary
    Saint John Chrysostom
He was formed at the foot of Mount Silpio
    With humility, vigilance, and prayer
He created the will to resist all evil
    And learned
    To rid himself of temptation
    From Sinai
    He was called to Antioch
    To give courage, enlighten hearts
    His blessed word was Divine
    It shone
    And taught the crowds
    From Antioch
    He went to the capital
    Eastern of the Roman Empire
There was envy, betrayal, and so much intrigue
    That they conspired immediately
    Against his life
But knives and spears could not touch him
    His poor people
Were always there to defend him
He was exiled, mistreated, and humiliated
    Which only
    Increased his Power
    Saint John Chrysostom
He was a light in antiquity
In the early steps of Christianity
He is part of the Sacred Constellation
    Of the holy martyrs
    Who died for Jesus Christ

He was not anti-semitic. If you read his work on the Jews, he strongly opposed Christians following after the Jews in their feast days, fastings, and practices. The very same jews who opposed Christ, The Savior and Master, and denied Him, The Rabbinic Judiasm of his time, he despised.
So I'd say, he had every right as Priest, Bishop, and Theologian, to have those strong words against those who united themselves to Christ, then spit in his face by joining themselves to the very ones who crucified him.

    • @MD-lf3gt
      @MD-lf3gt 8 місяців тому

He was full of hatred towards the Jews. Read “ Anti.-Judaism” from David Niremberg.
He was one of the founders of the misery of the Jews.
