Most middle-aged foreigners in Beijing are from big companies working with the Chinese government and are making lots of money. I think the $48K/mo might have been $48K/yr instead, but the $17K/mo I believe. But overall, it seems like they are making around $2800/mo, which is very close to US national average salary before 2019. But these are skilled IT in Beijing--and they only make 40% of counterpart in US. China is growing fast but still some catching up to do.

There was a shop owner, she can probably make 48k usd as an entrepreneur

As the cost in China is much lower, the 40% less will go a long way.

@@tonyhickq Nope, you cant survive with $2.8K monthly salary here in U.S. Average annual salary in the U.S is around $70K to $80K currently. But bigger cities like San Francisco and NYC it is somewhere around $150K-$200K. I make $120K as a UPS driver. Been driving for 5 years now.

There's no catching up to do. You're comparing a salary of a country 5x cheaper than US. China is the richest country by GDP based on purchasing power parity since 2018.

@@ChinaAdmissions These videos are from Kiun B. Are you stealing from someone’s work? Did you ask her for permission? If you don’t have someone’s permission and post their videos as yours then you are essentially stealing someone’s hard work and time. This why China has a bad reputation for stealing and copying.

A Japanese UA-camr who studied in the US said that he earns 300usd more than his other Japanese colleagues even though they have same expertise in their field. Speaking English gives who a very big advance in job market in the Asian countries. China has a huge amount of multinational corporation just like South Korea and Japan. That's why they prioritize people who can speak good English and also offer higher salary to them.

So I think they did the right thing to ask the foreigners not the native Chinese since the salary of a foreigner is higher than a Chinese person with same level of experience.
