Seeing these students graduating from Fudan expecting 8-10k salary is just a pain. Every Chinese knows that getting into an uni like this takes unimaginable amount of effects and it feels like it’s just not worth it.
8-10k is not bad by East Asian standards including Japan and Korea. It could provide a good living standard in China. It's also entirely possible to get much more than that 30k/m if you are the right major
Students graduating from Fudan expecting 8-10k salary is compareable to Students graduating from Birmingham UK expecting 25-30k salary, mind you minumum wage in UK is nearer to 20k so is compareable to 5k or less in china.
Love your channel. It’s extremely interesting to see how different it is compared to her in the USA. Like this video- where that college is extremely hard to get into and only the best get in compared to the US where the best schools actually discriminate against the best, with the most discriminated group being asian. The Supreme Court is currently hearing the case and hopefully this discrimination against Asians will be eliminated. I certainly hope so.
@@aznm3to be fair comparing the absolute value is not reasonable. We need to look at the purchasing power. For instance how much do a dozens of eggs cost in US or Australia? How about that in China? Smartest is not necessary the best. Book smart people may not be a good fit. Innovative people aren't not necessary book smart and may actually be a better fit for companies. Smart people often lose interest because they are bored with things (the restrict that is placed on them)! These videos always have students talking about working for companies? damn bro u r in China and interviewing random ppl in English on street, and filming this, u gotta be careful💀 ppl would think u work for foreign media then call the cops
That's on the lower end for an expat salary. Still higher than majority of people in Shanghai and you'll have a fairly comfortable kind of lifestyle if you don't spend too much on luxury stuff. Regular expat salary is around 80k CNY a month, based on experience from people I know. Highest is around 200k I think but that was almost 10 years ago. These are all cash numbers, not accounting for any stock rewards.

Please do this interview in Australia too, would be so interesting to see the differences in cultural expectations
Each career path pays differently. Lawyers, Engineers, Doctors are often paid a lot more than an art major.
All of them speak so well. would love to visit Shanghai someday

i guess it all boils down to cost of living. In my country if u earn that amount it's very hard to get by...

So 8K to 40K per month is the expectation, with 10k being the most common answer
I am Chinese, people in the video are very conservertive, the real expeactations are beyond what you have seen.
