    Excellent video Todd. I have always loved this railway line going back to the days of the D&M. It's exciting to see these locations on video. I once visited Roscommon back in 1991, nice little town. The LSRC locomotives look pretty sharp especially the SD70. Well done 👍

      Thank you Mike! The northern routes are definitely fun to chase and film. It was my intent to document the transition of 6-axle locomotives up there. This train almost runs exclusively with an SD70M currently. How times have changed.

      Yes they certainly have changed alot. And those auto racks are making an appearance on this line too. You're welcome

    Nice video, I think this is the most in depth view of the Mackinac Sub that I've saw on UA-cam.

      Glad you liked it! It is my hope to document the northern portion of this sub this year.

    Very nice coverage of the line. It certainly looked different to see the higher horsepower units working with the gravel cars. I really like the photos by the grain elevator.and aas it came through the heavily wooded area. Excellent coverage of the industries at the North End Of The Line it was actually more than I thought it would be. Glad the schedule worked out there for a short time that you could get some of the photos

      Thank you very much! I was surprised to see how much industry is in Grayling. Besides the three listed in the video there’s also RJD Forest Products, the massive Arauco plant that has its own wye and mile long spur, Stella Jones, and Ras of Northern Michigan that looks like a team track that can accept just about anything that can be transloaded.
      It is my hope to document the northern leg of the subdivision when autoracks begin moving.
      Thanks for watching!

      I am looking forward to seeing the Northern Spur@@toddfeldpausch9489 - I would love to know what trains cross Main ST in Gaylord beyond the transloading site

    Nice to see someone using the old D&H colors

      @toddfeldpausch9489  5 місяців тому +2

      Indeed. And using those colors very well, imho.

      These aren't the Delaware and Hudson colors. The blue and grey are a different shade, there is no yellow, and the scheme is not that reminiscent of the D&H. I could be wrong, but I don't think LSRC's current scheme was based on it.

    Using wife's phone today not her opinions This is a really good video the way you followed the route covering the different locomotives rolling stock was good but the scenery along with it really makes it a lot better than just the railroad I would of loved to have been able to take a passenger train along this sub back in the days of when railroads ran about everywhere Michigan has the scenery I really miss it so it was nice seeing it in your video

    Nice video. Especially love seeing shots of 303. In the early 90s this unit was Indiana Hirail 371 and operated out of Tiffin, Ohio. I spent many an afternoon watching this unit switch the various industries around town as a bored teenage farm kid. Even getting many cab rides from the friendly crew. The highlight was always getting her up to track speed on the CSX Willard Sub, where the interchange was. In those days she would ride pretty rough and get to hoping pretty bad above 30 mph. I hope LSRC keeps it in a little better shape then the old IHRC did.

      Autoracks are expected to begin moving between Flint and Grayling sometime in 2024, according to the CEO’s end of 2023 radio interview.

      Dont hold your breath, there are over 38 high voltage power lines that have to be lifted, and Consumers Energy says they dont have the money or man-power to raise them.@@toddfeldpausch9489

    Do you know if LSRC runs through the Tawas area anymore?

      Yes, they do. While schedules may be erratic during the winter months, during warming months 327N and 326S meet north of East Tawas at Palumbo Siding Monday thru Friday around 10:00PM.
