It’s helped my ADHD immensely. I don’t even take it every day. But it’s nice to have when I need it

It’s funny how people that do not understand how ADHD works. Are the first people that say, “you just want legal meth.” What a normal person would feel on Adderall is explosive energy. For a person with ADHD it feels like our brain is finally quiet. It makes it easier for us to focus. We don’t feel wired, just “normal.”

Joe is so dim it’s insane. He’s been saying stupid things about ADHD for the better part of a decade, and will continue to do so.
He said himself that he doesn’t listen to people being critical of him, but in reality he doesn’t want to be wrong, or corrected. Red flag.

Taking Adderall almost feels like turning on active noise cancelling for your brain, everything seems to quiet down in your head. I would say implying it makes you at "normal" levels is misleading because it promotes the release and prevents reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine. You have more of these neurotransmitters available in the synaptic gap when you're ADHD medicated, above the levels of a neurotypical person.
In theory, this increased availability should be just enough to offset the fact that people with ADHD are inefficient in using it, but in practice most people are over medicated because someone who's never been normal doesn't know what normal is, a problem because the prescribed dosage of Adderall is based on what the patient reports as most effective.

2:10 most people don’t know the trifecta of terror ADHD bestows. You get anxiety THEN depression thanks to the disorder, a domino effect from the blunted/stifled executive~function (resulting from that faulty brain circuit)

If you have a dopamine deficiency maybe it can help, but it still has side effects regardless of how “normal” it makes you feel.
Rule of thumb is 8-10mg is the safest maximum dose.
Anything more it’s a dice roll long term don’t let anyone tell you different there’s only so much pervatin people can take look at the Germans.

My husband has snorted Adderall for 10 years and doesn't have ADHD. When he can't get Adderall, he gets fake Adderall or narcolepsy pills. He runs out of his script every month within two weeks. He can literally snort a pill and an hour later be exhausted and need a nap. He's verbally and emotionally and mentally abusive. He's financially abusive. He's physically abusive sometimes. I mean, hes had a code on the thermostat for months and was just allowed access to change the temperature in the house. And thats not even bad compared to other things. Sometimes he's the most sweetest man on the planet. Other times he's literally the devil. Hes 46 and now im just scared hes going to have a heart attack everyday. Im 35 and its been a very LONG ten years.

He is clearly an abusive addict. I take this drug responsibly and get good results at work. It can make you short-tempered and I can see it make you do crazy things if you snort it, which I would never do. At this rate he will seek stronger drugs to get a better effect like meth, which will make him dangerous and lead to his death. I have doubts he will seek recovery at your suggestion-so yes you may have to leave him before he really harms you. Best of luck to you

Classic behavior of amphetamine addicts. That is not a situation you want to be stuck with for another 10 years. You will deeply regret staying. You're still young
