Just wanted to let you know-I was having a rough day, and I thought - maybe the next part of Hiccup decorating his base will be on YT. I turned on my computer, and lo and behold it was waiting for me, and it made my day just that little bit better! I appreciate all the work you must put into making these awesome videos for us!
I hope you're day got better, I hope today you're feeling good, and I hope by tomorrow you're feeling great again. Knowing my videos help others, helps me on my bad days. Thank you for sharing. I truly hope you're feeling better.
Gotta say this is by far my favorite episode yet. All the items on the floor when you broke the chests just had me rolling. Thank you for all the hard work you put into these episodes. ❤
So I built your Plains base in my world shortly after you built yours, but I simply couldn’t wait to decorate, so it was fun to see where you decided to place things vs. where I did. Turns out, I also placed chests in the corner. I used your trick of placing the hearth on grates and created a little vent on the roof. It works great! I consider you my Valheim Sensei and I love what you’ve done with your place! 🙌
I think normal max comfort is 16 (you are missing the hearth). Players can get up to 17 max comfort IF they have a Maypole nearby which gives +1 to comfort, the Maypole can be naturally found or crafted during the Seasonal event. There is also the Seasonal X-mas Tree which also gives +1 comfort (so in theory if having both seasonal items comfort can rise to 18 max). Although as it is summer they should soon open the Maypole to be crafted (if they haven't already), as this is what they have done in the past, but who knows if they will change this in line with the other comfort reductions they implemented. All that Black Metal used in decorating, the game decided to reward your hard work with a raid so you could get some of the resources back 🤣 Exciting times!!!!
@@HiccupTheHermit Make sure you remember to pack your stonecutter to deconstruct evicted Dvergr fortresses. ;) Got 90 copper scrap, 10 jute and 7 stacks of marble in one go.
I lol'd at building a cart for storage then dumping inventory on ground. The only way to get 16 comfort would be to be near a stone hearth... maybe downstairs with some flooring reinforcement?
Also, worried whether you'll get your comfort bonus on rest. I've always tended to build very open structures and have noticed with recent changes that beds are VERY picky about openings near them. Even if you get your bonus, I thought I'd mention this here in case anyone else has that problem. Just add wall or glass behind the bed till you get your bonus, basically.
@@HiccupTheHermit Man, I was sweating during that Horde event! Amazed you pulled it through, but also noting that was a much smaller raid of that type than I usually see... Maybe they nerfed it... Hopefully they did actually because it seems every time I've gotten it since Mistlands dropped I've gotten at least 3 shamans and a similar amount of extra Fulings and Berserkers. No matter what I do I know some of my base is toast and I'll probably die. Couldn't help but remember how you said you'd make an atgeir to try out and wondering how much you might have enjoyed having one for that raid though.... Just sayin lol
Not sure if it's been mentioned but the hanging brazier gives a rested bonus. You fill it with 6 coal and it burns for ages. Hang it from the ceiling to replace a fireplace. ☺ Edit nm I unpaused after writing this and you whipped out the brazier lol
I just decided not to use them this playthrough. They are great for sure, super helpful quality of life buffs, but I thought I'd play without them. Like my original, first time, playthrough.
@@HiccupTheHermit Alright, thanks. Tbh I don’t see them as much more than quality of life improvements as you said. Nice to have but not drastically game changing.

@@HiccupTheHermit Thank you for your very kind reply. I am fine, but I did want to let you know you are appreciated :)
Your positive attitude is contagious. We need more people like you on the internet
oh, Thank you sooo much! That means a lot.
my favourite part is where you put a cart down for storage and then dumped your inventory onto the table 🤣

Thanks for watching!

Sounds like we both have AWESOME Plains bases!

That last raid was rough!
And yea, I don't know how'd I'd Work a Hearth into this build up there... Honestly not too worried about it.
Blue Jute and Marble are a big game changer when it comes to decorating. Can't wait to see you utilize it.
Excited to get it!

I always appreciate your enthusiasm!
Just having fun!
Place already looks good at the start
Oh ho ho! You just wait!
But thanks!

I really do love those hanging braziers! So handy.
20mins in looks soo good
Relatively new to your channel, do u not allow boss abilities like how u can’t pick up dead body?

Bro how much storage u need tho😂😂
Haha, it's never enough.
No such thing as too much storage in Valheim.
haha, You say truth!
