Awesome video! Even more so that you give the socket sizes and torque specs. The mounting bracket nuts both spun, but you even warned of that so I was ready for it. Had to apply some heat to one of the bottom bolts, but the other 5 all pulled right out.
+@jimmyboyles2868 We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
Tried desperately to do this, but the lower bolt on one (only one I've tried so far) is completely stuck! WD40 and impact driver haven't budged it. Help!
Hey guys, thanks for making this video! I'm changing my rear struts for the first time on my 2017 Focus SEL and your tips have been very helpful. I have run into an issue though: My 10mm top mount bolts won't go back into the threads when reassembling. Did you have any issues with this? The bolts seem to have 2 little notches in them on each side at the very bottom, but they're uniform and exactly the same across both bolts so I'm thinking that's supposed to be there. I'm afraid the actual bolt hole thread is stripped which is disabling me from getting them back in. Curious to know if you have any experience with this when making the replacement what you'd recommend if the bolt hole is stripped. Would a thread repair kit be strong enough for this particular area being one of the shocks? Thanks, Josh

I wish every mechanical video was this thorough. Great job and to the point.
Awesome video! Helped me out a ton, especially with the sizes of everything!
Nice! Gonna handle this , this weekend. 2016 focus st.
Thank you TRQ ! you have the best explained repair videos on the planet Professional all the way !
Fantastically well-made (and edited) tutorial video showing "Just the Facts, Ma'am!". Kudos, TRQ. 👍🚙

Some say that the bottom 15mm bolt should be torqued when the suspension is loaded. Is it true in this case?
Is this the same for the ST?
Very helpful! I did this job in 30 minutes
The white plastic showing in 1.28 from old shock should be put on new one shock too
Amazing video. Hopefully mine goes this smoothly.
Why didn't you reuse the white plastic clip you left on old shock?
Do you need to replace the mounts? When car is coasting in nuetral(manual) making a thud nose with every rotation.

Best video ever
Looks like a pretty simple job. How long in the real world without edits would this take to do per side?
what shock was this? very informative
love these vids u tell the ft lbs thanks sm
2:49 -that's tight 😁
This is top notch
But wasn't that replacement shock much longer than the original?
Is it necessary to replace the two shock absorbers together, even if the other is in good condition? Knowing that the car has traveled 100,000 miles
If you're replacing one, replace both so they perform the same. Otherwise, you can have uneven wear.
