DKDKTV sorry !!🙋but WHY.. I always feeling IF YOU ALL SEEN LIKE...TRY TO FINDING BAD THING about them?? The WAY YOU SMILE..SPEAK ABOUT THEM??.. like ..Hmmmm ..i don't know..but yeaah SEEM LIKE THAT?? Or my be it just my feel?? Please don't missunderstand😊😊!But sorry my english not good!!
But the thing is BTS has never targeted the US market. It's not their goal to debut there, they're just doing what they wanna do and if people like it, they like it, and if they dont, they don't. Their goal isn't to be an American artist, but to be a kpop artist who succeeds in the wider world as korean artists.
From what i've known ( by reading articles, but I'm sorry TT it was long ago, so i cant give you the link) Big Hit actually aim for America first, and then Korean after. As we know, since 2014/2015, BTS was more popular in American/USA than in Korea. But after 2016 ( BBMA) The Korean public noticed them more. But even tho they aim for the USA first, they wanted to top the different chart with their own language. And I'm proud of it :D
I'm your hope, I'm your angel J-hope if bighit actually targeted the US first they would have released songs in English and made an official debut there
If BTS succeeds, I hope it can teach people that understanding foreign songs is as easy as googling for their translation. The world is missing out a lot by only listening to English songs lmao.
Understanding lyric is not so important in music. If BTS is strong enough, I hope they can change the way people listen to music and evaluate kpop music.Korean fit perfectly with their music
you know what, on an interview with Ryan Seacrest .. there's one fanboy asking why not making English album. then suddenly all the protests came around on twitter saying that is not necessary for BTS to make an English album because they love BTS just the way they are with their powerful + meaningful Korean lyrics. and it came from US Army. I think just 1 or 2 song mix up Eng-Kor will do
I mean...almost all of their songs mix in A LOT of english already. I think the amount of english they incorporate in their songs is more than people actually realise
For the fans... we don't care. We even listen to the japonese version and learn it haha He's just saying for the worldwide public and for them to stick! That guy and all the press were kind of aggressive about the English album. That's why we were triggered. Like "don't pressure them, we not asking". But maybe in the future, when they get more fluent, I'd have no problem with it. I'd actually have no problem with any decision they're comfortable with. But that's a valid argument they had. And realistic. I liked it.
I think its quite funny and ridiculous when they shouldnt make music in english for their AMERICAN DEBUT. Lol. Did they debut in JAPAN with KOREAN ALBUM? The answer is NO. They make a whole Japanese album and i dont see anyone complaining about it.
Jonggi Rohendri it’s not necessarily the same for America considering there’s so many cultures here & people speak tons of different languages. Because of that, there’s different styles of music in different languages so BTS isn’t required to make an English album. For Japan, people really only speak Japanese over there so they make a version of their songs in that language (although fans don’t mind singing in Korean).
Jonggi Rohendri The Japanese music market is different. You have to have japanese songs to make it there while they've come so far in the U.S already with korean. Also the past proves that english versions always flop. You don't get the same nuance in english as you do with english and if it's an english version and not an original then sometimes the original meaning is lost.
While I get where Danny is coming from, but I agree more with David. There has already been lots of other kpop groups have made English tracks but still didn't break into the US market. Having English tracks is no guarantee of success. I think the approach that BTS has taken is much better, primarily because its much more organic - their success has actually been driven in the US and internationally by ARMY, rather than a top down approach from their management. Which is why I think its far better they stay true to their Korean roots, including language. This is something that both RM and Bang PD have said in interviews was their preferred approach. Having said that I do agree that including more English would be something that could be done to help in relation to the US markets and collaborations with other US/international artist will also help them break through the barriers into the US etc. I agree the members increasing their English language proficiency for interviews and such would definitely be something to aim for, as that will help facilitate their entry into English language markets, whether it be in the USA, UK, Australia or elsewhere. However, I wouldn't be keen on a whole English language album.
except bts never really targeted the US market at all. besides, don't you think it'd be more impressive if they entered the US market with only korean songs? proves that music truly transcends language. and the k in kpop stands for korean. if they make english songs, then it's only regular pop, nothing special. and like you said, i don't think their music is gonna translate well and be as passionate in english like it is in korean.
Exactly! They probably wouldn't have been this successful if they had made English albums in my opinion. Also it doesn't make sense for them to even do full songs in English because that's not their first language and as you said it their feelings wouldn't be translated well. It would make more sense for a group like Got7 which has many members that are actually comfortable with English.
aina exactly! Music is an international language that we can all understand it's a mix of emotion and passion and tbh it doesn't matter what language its in as long as it has passion and effort in it
the mv version is way better. Desiigner did a good job on this but not like what he usually did. To my opinion I think it'll be better if Desiigner came in after second reff before RM's iconic " players gon play.. haters gon hate.... " with his high level trap rap + hard to understand words that has a climax with his " brrrrrrrraaaarrrr " effect at the end... Then RM and the rest. That for me will be more LIT than ever
Starry Dae no way the Desiigner version makes it WAY BETTER. Let’s face it having designer on the song is the only way for this song to do well on the charts and streaming platforms.
bang si hyuk said to billboard after bbma : " I'm not a believer in releasing full English songs to the U.S. market, like many K-pop artists have," Bang tells Billboard in his first-ever interview with American press. "We must focus on what we do best as K-pop artists and producers and maybe add some special features to which international or U.S. music fans can feel attached. That is the best way for me to put K-pop into the mainstream U.S. music market and, in that regard, BTS will participate and perform in a way that is not much different from what they have been doing in the last three years. We're adjusting and improving the way we do shows on the tour to meet the international or global level and expectations so that anyone, regardless of their culture and background, can enjoy BTS music and performances."
I understand your stand. As an army, i don't really mind if they produce english songs or korean as long as they're comfortable doing it. RM stated that they wanna stay to their roots and that's having korean songs which made them who they are and i find it more impressive how a group singing with a language you don't understand made a huge fanbase worldwide. That means it could grow without the english songs just how the armys jumped in, like me who never got interested in kpop before i discovered bts. They're really breaking language barriers and i personally want that to continie because there are still people out there who are ignorant abt korean music.
I think they need to keep Korean. I feel if they break in the mainstream in the US with a Korean song it'll make the people open their minds and accept the fact not only English songs are good but songs with other languages can be just as good or even better. That doesn't stop the fact that it'll be better if they improve their English just for the interviews when they're outside korea. It'll give the American audience a better look of what bts really stands for since they'll be able to express themselves more.
I think and hope BTS is big enough to be able to change that. It made me sad that the reason why Despacito was so famous is because of Justin Bieber's influence. Now its Steve Aoki and Desiigner, but I'm glad BTS made up most of the song (aside from the beat change).
thanatoz gaming I'm not saying that the song got BETTER. I'm saying that it got much more populat than it already is in AMERICA dur to Justin Biebers. The radios here play the version with JB instead of the original one which sucks.
Fans who are negative and worried about BTS making English songs. Don't worry about it. RM said the remix was just a present for fans. BTS said that they don't have a plan to make their own English songs and they will continue to make Korean albums. Sorry. I'm K-army. I can't speak eng well. Please understand.
There are three versions out of this (remix): - This one, without Desiigner//Some English lines//MV - The version WITH Desiigner//More English//Audio only - Japanese version//Short ver.//MV
BTS have expressed that one of the reasons that everything going on right now is so big for them, is because they're doing it with Korean music. If they did a full English album, it would not only be kinda awkward and cringe because the members don't know the language well, but it would also go against what BTS believe. They love how music trancends language, and how Korean music and Korean culture can spread around the world as it is. BTS don't do it for the fame, and even though they love the recognition, they wouldn't kompromise their creative expression for it. That's what I think anyways 🤷🏽♀️😊
You raised a valid point regarding language being the biggest barrier for them in going worldwide. And I don't think BTS is planning to go with an English album anytime soon either. Regarding your question to what BTS wants, seeing their recent US trip I think they want to succeed in the mainstream music market - yes - but as Kpop artists rather than just pop artists. They are proud of their Korean heritage and the fact that they are carrying this identity with them wherever they go. Making a full album in English would make them try to succeed as Pop artists and not KPop artists. I agree with David that they can incorporate more English into their songs, maybe release an English song or two but not an entire album or promote as such. I think Mic Drop Remix is them testing the waters by incorporating more English lyrics into their songs. But you have to agree while this beat is doper, the English lyrics doesn't really flow that well compared to Korean. I guess a whole new song won't have that problem. They will probably see how this song will perform on the charts and what kind of response it gets in Korea and elsewhere and plan their next step. BIGHIT is playing this very smartly and working with BTS for the long run instead of just maxing out as if this is their 15 minutes of fame. Whatever they'll do next, I'm excited. BTS is yet to let me down.
Right. You said it so well..At this point of time BTS are among some of Kpop artist that can release a diss song to haters, and everybody will agree with them.. Regarding 100% English song- precedents has shown that debuting English song at US market will be disaster..just look at some other Kpop artist that has done that...never go far...
if BTS make a full English song/album, there is NO POINT of them being a Kpop group. I think I won't be listening to BTS in the first place if they promote English music. I mean, I could've just listen to Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran or The Chainsmokers for some English song. BTS succeeded globally even when they're being themselves, not being what others want them to be. That is why they're special. So why are we making them ordinary? if you think a Kpop group making full English song with some awkward lyrics and unnatural pronunciation is what they needed to enter the American music industry, well that is your opinion. I mean, I don't think they will be as confident singing it live. Their stage presence, the delivery of their lyrics, their expression, their dance and their performance in general, its amazing because they're confident in doing what they do best, in a language they're most comfortable with.,, hangul. I am proud of them for who they really are, not what they pretend to be. LOVE, -PROUD ARMY
BTS doesn't need an entire album in English or even an entire song in English. It just shows that K-Pop CAN make its way into the Western music industry WITH Korean used.
Despacito was the biggest hit, I don’t think bts should loose their Korean originality at all. This way the boys can feel confident about their song writing and singing. I rather have them be confident in their performances and career than appeal to an audience that might not accept them either wayyyy😂😂
3 years later: BTS are one of the biggest boybands ever and have paved the way for kpop in international countries WITHOUT making a song that is completely in English (at least the main songs) EDIT this comment was before Dynamite came out. But, my point still stands. BTS was still tremendously popular before Dynamite came out, and they didn't need the help of english songs to get there.
Guess what???? They are doing an unprecedented feet!!! I am an English only speaking ARMY! Great music transcends language!!! Thank you both for all your hard work and great content!
You guys have got to listen to the audio version on Spotify! It's similar but very different, the spotify version features Desiigner plus the boys sing more english Edit: I wrote the comment before watching the video
Desiigner isn’t in the MV because he was in the USA and couldn’t go to Korea (he prepare his next album I think) And he recorded his part in the USA too, he wasn’t with BTS
The performances for the Rockin New Years performances are almost (if not) all usually prerecorded It may have changed this year but it is watched as the ball drop follows the end of the show which is what everyone loves watching
They are doing kpop music not America pop. kpop is a music culture not small and they are showing it to others. Actually I like korean ver more because it's bold identity of BTS and of Kpop
calm down..they are collaborating with western artist ..what did you expect? they have already told that they dont believe in launching a full English song. so yeah.
Hoa Vu Well most of the kpop lyrics have English lyrics in the rapping part so why a language debate Korean or English or Spanish... or japanese..... People love them......... because of music they are doing it for fans not for popularity...... Well they have in this version they have Korean lyrics too..
Watching this one year later and seeing that BTS did successfully break into the the American and the Global market, mixed in more English lyrics with Fake Love but kept the Korean heart with Idol, topped charts, filled stadiums... DKDK were both right. And BTS is gonna need a bigger bag.
Loved your reaction :) I personally know only a handful of Korean words, but I don't want kpop in English. If I wanted to listen to English music, I would do so, and not listen to kpop or jrock. Most of kpop MVs nowadays are extremely accommodating and are released with English subtitles. It takes literally 1 second to turn them on. And it takes 5 seconds to search the lyric translations or lyric videos on YT. All kpop concert dvds are released with english, chinese, japanese and korean subtitles. If a person wants to know what the song is saying, it takes one second to find out. That is more than enough. Vlives also come with subs or are subbed after their live stream. I don't want BTS or anyone else to have to compromise themselves, their comfort and connection with their music, and bend backwards for the sake of kpop's breakthrough in the US or whatnot. Also, I love this Mic Drop remix, but to be honest, the parts where they changed parts to English, as much as I respect their effort, sound a bit gibberish and does not flow as well as in Korean, especially in a fast song like this. But you know who wants to make music in English, in fact is already doing it, and enter the US market? CL. The queen. So let's root for her and listen to her English songs. By the way, fun fact, most of the world actually speak mandarin, so in theory in order to get the most new fans BTS should release a chinese album. Bam.
Youre really 2 of my faves! Appreciate your reactions, altho I dont agree to it fully, I still appreciate the honesty. Atleast you guys arent like the others who are too obvious that are just acting out their reactions.
BTS doesn't want to break into the USA market. The reason they're going to the AMAs and all these shows is because A.R.M.Y are pushing them. We want them to stay Korean but we're pushing them so they expand their fan base.
From BTS' and the CEO's opinion they don't want to debut in America officially, but they do want to expand worldwide as Korean/asian artists to represent Korean/asian music. Personally, I think that it's time for other people to realize that there are amazing artists that sings in other languages besides English. As a native English speaker, other English speakers expect you to know English if you want to get anywhere and I personally want to see a change in that and also see more Asian artists represented worldwide as well. It's be nice if BTS sang some songs partly English as long as they WANT to, but they definitely don't have to. I want to see if BTS can break the mold so to speak. They are already gaining tons of fans for singing in their native language alone and anyone that listens to their songs can feel their emotions and simply look up the eng subs. What I'm saying is that Music transcends language and BTS can prove that.
And I just became an Army 3 years later!. It's now year 2020 so can we now say that they did it in the long term and still growing? And guess what? they do compare with the Beatles now! Army fighting!💜💜💜💜💜💜
I think what makes it even more meaningful is the fact that BTS has never made an 'official' US debut or English song. The US market isn't just a US market but an international platform where the world's music market is mostly dominated by English speaking white people. Isn't it awesome if they manage to break through as a non-English speaking Korean?
And BTS unknowingly made themselves popular in the west. While they've made efforts, it's never their intention to really enter the US market. So if they don't manage to keep the US hype, I wont really call it a failure so thats okay. I really don't want to sacrifice the quality they have given us so far for some English lyrics I can easily search the translation to. After all, I didn't support them cause they speak English lol.
watch this in2019.. BTS haven't yet made any album in english, but is the most successful kpop group ever in the world. dominating western music chart with their korean songs. they really surpassed all odds
Just watched this TODAY, guys BTS succeeded without a full English album. It's 2020 & they are still the most successful band. We succeeded keeping it to their Korean roots.
I bought the song on iTunes desiigner killed it and the last 35 seconds are in Korean it seems like the version is different in the mv and probably performance since desiigner won't be able to all the time lol
I am a Korean. I am glad that more fans can appreciate bts’s song with english lyrics. But at the same time, i think that English lyrics gives different impressions from korean lyrics. Personally, I prefer Korean lyrics. It feels more truthful, sensible and empathetic. Of course it could be because i am korean, but bts is korean too. I hope that Bts continue to tell young people through their authentic music, and for that they need to use the most comfortable means-native language. Just imagine how us artist would feel if they had to sing their song in korean. Same to bts. Anyway thanks for the reaction i simply wanted share what came up to my mind after watching this :)
Found dkdktv becoz of iland.. but the fact that they're so honest make me root for them so i check all of their videos.. and im in the midway here..lol
honestly what's the point of being a kpop group if u just gonna make a whole album in english! tbh i think if they start running after western recognition, they'd just lose their identity!
they just have more English lines since they are collaborating with an western artist..what did you expect? It's told many times that they don't believe in entering the western music scene with full English songs. They are still a kpop group..but if they're gonna collaborate with western artist..they need to have a balance..and I felt it was captured decently.
This is literally the most they've ever spoke English in any song as a group and Namjoon still uses it more on his own. You know what song it is. They really only translated the lyrics, it's not even that serious to complain about them "making an album in English" when it's literally one song.
Drunken raccoon in disguise I don't agree with you what's wrong if they come with English lyrics..... Enrigue, Shakira, many latin American singers have English Albums but that doesn't mean they are doing it for Western recognition that's because people love to listen them.......whether in english or Spanish or Korean
I know, and true, it was indeed captured decently! My comment was bout Danny's thought! and as i said "a whole album" is what i'm against, not just eng versions of their older songs or a couple of collabs cz it's perfectly understanble that they'd use english in collabs, duh!
That's why I love DKDKTV they always made the most honest opinions regarding the MV like legit analyzing the truth with it to a point that's so much relatable...
I don't want bts to break through american music industry, amerikkka don't deserve bts!!! They're doing so good as a kpop group in america and most of the fans and bts themselves are content with it. Instead of conforming and changing so much of what BTS stands for just to hit the american audience, bts should prove to them them that they can succeed by staying kpop.
Listen danny you didn't even notice that the chorus was in english, I mean I understood about as much as I did in desiigners verse, so a whole album in english would prob be just as hard to understand as korean
Oh god. Not an English only album. The English ver. of Mic Drop didn't excite me that much overall. It would've been better if they left the lyrics as is with Steve Aoki's remix-ing. And I bet some of the members themselves don't want to make English-only songs, especially if it means limits to their own creative output if they can't properly express what they wanna say in English. Let kpop be kpop with Korean lyrics and if they don't make it in the mainstream US market because their music isn't in English, as an American fan, I am more than okay with that. Tbh I don't even like that they're trying to reach a US market.
The only portion of people around the world that could possibly have problem with them not singing in english and/or expecting that to be done would be `generic public` and really closed mind humans (but for those nothing will ever work). For decades it`s been perfectly natural thing to enjoy music depsite of the language. Millions of people do it every day, every hour, every minute everywhere around the globe. In the age of the Internet, finding multiple translations is a matter of seconds for those interested. If certain song is to your liking, you listen to it. If it is not, you simply don`t. Melody and voice comes first, lyrics after. At the end of the day it all comes down to our personal tastes.
I can see BTS doing a few English singles or some mostly English collabs or something in the future but I don't see them really doing a full English album.
8 months ago - "BTS should incorporate more English to break into the American market" ".. whole English album (or partial ones)" 8 months later - " 1st Korean group to top Billboard Hot 100 (#10) and Album 200 (#1) with a full Korean album" Just saying, I think BTS authenticity and sincerity in their songs are not determined by the language that they are singing in but it is through their heart, words, and action. This proves how music breaks barriers, and that includes language barriers.
I think that as long as most of the boys don’t know English, they should just stick to Korean lyrics. If BTS wanted to stay in the US industry, breaking through with English would be sort of misleading and it would be way more interesting (and easier) for BTS to hold their ground with Korean songs.
I don't think they will be at their best in english. I think people will get used to korean. It's not a bad language. I do think an english version wouldn't hurt so people get introduced to them but a full EP in english is a bit too much especially since they are really not fluent so it'll be even harder for them. You can already see that the quality of their lyrics goes down once it gets translated in english. I do agree that if thexy really want to capture the american audience they need english. But I think they are breaking the barrier even now. If you only knew how many new kpop fans came because of BTS in only the last year. You'd be surprised!
I like this version better. I love your videos guys!! I agree with David. Even though I only speak english, but I don't want BTS to make an all English album. Maybe a song or 2 in English would be cool, but I use subtitles and Google to translate them. I enjoy learning about other cultures. Psy brought kpop to the world, and since then, I mostly only listen to kpop now. I truly love it and the culture. I even watch kdramas now...lol!

But the thing is BTS has never targeted the US market. It's not their goal to debut there, they're just doing what they wanna do and if people like it, they like it, and if they dont, they don't. Sal actually if you check interviews with Hitman from Big Hit he said their goal from that start was the market towards America and american trends.
I'm your hope, I'm your angel J-hope they didn't aim it just happened. Bighit didn't bring them to America, their fans did tbh
I'm your hope, I'm your angel J-hope if bighit actually targeted the US first they would have released songs in English and made an official debut there
I hope they never make an English album. I want them to enter the US market while singing in Korean. As Namjoon says ‘Music transcends language’.
park jimin makes me soft agreed
park jimin makes me soft yess I'm agree with u
You probably don't know how the music industry works.

Fierce Naga it’s so easy to find translations! And I love bollywood music too, language doesn’t affect it - if you like the sound, just listen 💃🏻

“The world” you say. Western countries aren’t the only countries in the world. 🤦♀️

Yes, I'm sick of youtubers who like every song (only for more subscribers), so these two are refreshing.
Yeah because they actually understand the meaning of the song rather than just reacting only
Exactly my POV!
Those burns that are flying in the air were the haters. BTS burned them.
I thought those were our wigs haha
0:39 I love the way Hoseok just jumps over the table. That means it time to get snatched.
Baby Tae Tae same. I think I already agreed to your comment before.
Yas sis 🤙🏻
Aurora Starlight Very agree with your opinion
Aurora Starlight yasss! I am in total agreement.
Very well said sis
Totally agree 👏👏👏👏
except bts never really targeted the US market at all. besides, don't you think it'd be more impressive if they entered the US market with only korean songs? proves that music truly transcends language. and the k in kpop stands for korean. if they make english songs, then it's only regular pop, nothing special. and like you said, i don't think their music is gonna translate well and be as passionate in english like it is in korean.
^^Thiiiissss^^
Music is an international language that we can all understand it's a mix of emotion and passion and tbh it doesn't matter what language its in as long as it has passion and effort in it
aina
Agreed!
I came here for Danny's *Oohhhhh* of approval. I was not disappointed.
Shannen Fortes gurl same 😂
Yeah same 😂
the mv version is way better.
In the MV i was actually expecting Desiigner to come out at the players gonna play part
Starry Dae no way the Desiigner version makes it WAY BETTER. Let’s face it having designer on the song is the only way for this song to do well on the charts and streaming platforms.
Starry Dae dude i was thinking the same
k Aminé it's my opinion tho. i love Desiigner
I like the one with desiigner better 😂😂
bang si hyuk said to billboard after bbma :
" I'm not a believer in releasing full English songs to the U.S. market, like many K-pop artists have," Bang tells Billboard in his first-ever interview with American press.
Interesting reading this comment after butter and ptd
Saf 17 I think exactly the same! 👏👏☝🇰🇷🇰🇷
I think and hope BTS is big enough to be able to change that. It made me sad that the reason why Despacito was so famous is because of Justin Bieber's influence. Now its Steve Aoki and Desiigner, but I'm glad BTS made up most of the song (aside from the beat change).
saf shooky I second that
LittleVidds despacito wasn't famous by that jb...his version sucked big time
thanatoz gaming I'm not saying that the song got BETTER.
Largo Kaia .. reading your comment makes me feel relieved .
this was 2 years ago but your english is amazing, I bet its even better now :)
There are three versions out of this (remix):
- This one, without Desiigner//Some English lines//MV
- The version WITH Desiigner//More English//Audio only
- Japanese version//Short ver.//MV
4 versions.
One more, the original.
Worldwide Handsome Didn't count it bc it's pretty obvious. And I said "...this *(remix):* " :))
Gladys Vasquez You mean the non remix?
Here: ua-cam.com/video/7UYyrSOfLl8/v-deo.html
++ original kor ver. and MAMA remix ver
LOVE,
-PROUD ARMY
Fast forward to 2021. Are you still ARMY today? Or have you abandoned them already. Just curious. Thanks!
And now? Are u still Army ? Because if not there will be more tickets for us who likes Dynamite and Butter
Here in 2021 congratulating you on your very smart analysis of BTS future.
3 years later: BTS are one of the biggest boybands ever and have paved the way for kpop in international countries WITHOUT making a song that is completely in English (at least the main songs)
EDIT this comment was before Dynamite came out. But, my point still stands. BTS was still tremendously popular before Dynamite came out, and they didn't need the help of english songs to get there.
Here after 3 years just to inform you that they got main stream with korean lyrics and being true to them selves and promoting Korean culture...
3 years later..they've succeeded and surpassed everyone's expectations =]
i never get tired of your 'ooooooooohhhhh ' i love it so much
Stick with Korean Album but increase the English portion in 1 or two songs are okay. I like BTS whatever language they use.
Guess what???? They are doing an unprecedented feet!!! I am an English only speaking ARMY! Great music transcends language!!! Thank you both for all your hard work and great content!
You guys have got to listen to the audio version on Spotify! It's similar but very different, the spotify version features Desiigner plus the boys sing more english
Edit: I wrote the comment before watching the video
Sarah Aye yupp the rapline rap in english
Isn't that the version they reacted to?
Melissa Apoka no the audio ver is different
ikram sahraoui but they reacted to the version with desiigner
ikram sahraoui but the rapline rapped in English in this version.
yassss, thanks, didn't expect you will drop this reaction early
(again) watching this because of DANNY & DAVID (and aoki too)
DYNAMITE HAS ARRIVED AS DAVID WANTED LOL
Who knew it would happen 3 yrs later David- 1 english song in an album. BE
Desiigner isn’t in the MV because he was in the USA and couldn’t go to Korea (he prepare his next album I think)
And he recorded his part in the USA too, he wasn’t with BTS
Just came here to say LGO #1 album and song in KOREAN on Billboard. First Ever and grammy nominated.
I was waiting for this reaction. 🤘🤘
you guys keep noddin your head since the beginning until the end. AND I LOVE IT HAHAHAHAHAHAH
I did wait for danny going Oooohhhhhhh 😂 ❤ You guys are amazing. 💙 And they should stay in korean. It's called K-pop for a reason lol.
The performances for the Rockin New Years performances are almost (if not) all usually prerecorded
It may have changed this year but it is watched as the ball drop follows the end of the show which is what everyone loves watching
They are doing kpop music not America pop. kpop is a music culture not small and they are showing it to others. Actually I like korean ver more because it's bold identity of BTS and of Kpop
calm down..they are collaborating with western artist ..what did you expect?
they have already told that they dont believe in launching a full English song.
so yeah.
This is a GIFT to ARMY. Not their DEBUT song. They never planning to produce an ENGLISH SONG. sit down
Hoa Vu Well most of the kpop lyrics have English lyrics in the rapping part so why a language debate Korean or English or Spanish... or japanese..... People love them......... because of music they are doing it for fans not for popularity...... Well they have in this version they have Korean lyrics too..
Whether you like it or not, bts's music is a more watered down version of American pop
Phuocc Boi There is something called Hip -hop ..Search their Wikipedia page ..you will know what genre their music is.
It definitely not American pop.
Scrolling down trying to watch another video...I just see so many more people already reacting to it....
Lolllll WORLDWIDE I SAY
actually they incorporate english lyrics to this mic drop single remix.
Watching this one year later and seeing that BTS did successfully break into the the American and the Global market, mixed in more English lyrics with Fake Love but kept the Korean heart with Idol, topped charts, filled stadiums...
DKDK were both right.
And BTS is gonna need a bigger bag.
Loved your reaction :)
I personally know only a handful of Korean words, but I don't want kpop in English.
Bam.
and now they have 3 english songs topping the charts! :)
I will support BTS whatever their album is Korean or English. But I don't want they make albums just for being more famous.
“no that’s just the way he walks... just like jesus”
i was laughing so hard omfg
Army fighting!💜💜💜💜💜💜
the version with desiigner is even better. i wish that version get an mv too :(
jay but thats cant happen because desiigner is not there with bts and steve aoki when work the mv..he is busy too
jay yesssss desiigner will be so cute & cool :(((
jay Lots of people were upset they cut hobis and yoongis part in the audio remix version
jay i disagree
jay I disagree, I still like the version with suga and hobi, the swag is more suit to the song
they pre-taped their New Year's Eve appearance when they were in LA because they have a lot of end-of-the-year commitments in Japan and Korea
We succeeded keeping it to their Korean roots.
you guys listen to it with the desiigner on spotify damn! suga was rapping in english!
Finally!!
I've been waiting for their reaction since 3 hours agoooo
Can you please react to their Japanese version of MIC DROP 😊
I WAS WAITING FOR THISSSSSS
I bought the song on iTunes desiigner killed it and the last 35 seconds are in Korean it seems like the version is different in the mv and probably performance since desiigner won't be able to all the time lol
YAY FINALLY!!!! BEEN WAITING FOR UR REACTION💜
Yeah I love their honest reaction too, it’s just their personal opinion but it’s refreshing to hear other people POV
honestly what's the point of being a kpop group if u just gonna make a whole album in english! tbh i think if they start running after western recognition, they'd just lose their identity!
they just have more English lines since they are collaborating with an western artist..what did you expect?
It's told many times that they don't believe in entering the western music scene with full English songs.
They are still a kpop group..but if they're gonna collaborate with western artist..they need to have a balance..and I felt it was captured decently.
This is literally the most they've ever spoke English in any song as a group and Namjoon still uses it more on his own. You know what song it is. They really only translated the lyrics, it's not even that serious to complain about them "making an album in English" when it's literally one song.
This is not an ALBUM . you can go check and buy HER. THIS IS A GIFT TO ARMY .. gtfo
Wow. So honest! You two have different comments but both are very important. So glad to know what's koreans/fanboys really think about BTS. ❤
Agreed, as an army even me i want'em to learn english so that they can atleast express themselves well in interviews.
I love how you guys keep it real and say if you don’t like something, you’re amazing guys.
I actually really loved the one with desiigner
From then to now - Dynamite and a Grammy nomination!
This is insane is fucking good
I was waiting for your reaction.
Its always good to hear other peoples opinion.
Scared of danny though😂😂😂
Listen danny you didn't even notice that the chorus was in english, I mean I understood about as much as I did in desiigners verse, so a whole album in english would prob be just as hard to understand as korean
Me in July 2020.. DKDKTV your wish came true.. BTS is releasing English single on 21st aug.. 🎉😊
You should have listen to the english rap of jhope and yoongi. They have really improved a lot 😊
3:08 ohh the two visuals there rocking. Jin's screaming in my head that he's the visual lol.
Listen to the full audio. Its a little different from the mv.
Two years later 🤣 BTS is on american radio wow it's just hilarious and amazing how their even more famous during a pandemic
Ayyy so fast ! Good job! ❤️
I can see BTS doing a few English singles or some mostly English collabs or something in the future but I don't see them really doing a full English album.
Your prediction is right, 3 years later lol.
I love this reaction mainly because of Davids reaction. Dude is like so cute and chill!!!!
I want them to keep singing in Korean:>
flashforward to 2020: 4 #1 albums on bb200, 3 top 10 songs on hot 100, and their recent album debuted w 422k sales - all in Korean .
But the Designer version doesn't have J-hope's verse, so I'm glad they cut him coz Hobi's verse is the best verse of the song imo
8 months ago - "BTS should incorporate more English to break into the American market" ".. whole English album (or partial ones)"
8 months later - " 1st Korean group to top Billboard Hot 100 (#10) and Album 200 (#1) with a full Korean album"
Just saying, I think BTS authenticity and sincerity in their songs are not determined by the language that they are singing in but it is through their heart, words, and action.
When you were waiting for their reaction right after release❤️😍
*CHECK OUT THE FT. DESIIGNER ON SPOTIFY*
i think i'm addicted to DKDK HAHAHAHHAHAHA. it's damn effin 10:15PM and i have school at goddamn 4AM lateeeer
Why you ddnt finished the Audio? rapline's rap are lit and english.
Ahhh I love your BTS reaction videos!!!!! Seriously make my day and I never really like reaction videos but these are my favorite!!
