IRELAND - THE KINGS OF 2nd PHASE SET PLAYS

- Ireland do love a 2nd phase set play and when you execute it so well why wouldn't you love it???
Will we see more teams adopt a 2nd phase set play because of disorganized defense?
#sixnations #irelandrugby #irishrugby
Jack Conan gave a very honest open interview after the test and said that the play with James Lowe was practised all week and did not work once, he reconned it is because the other guys defending know the play and can close it down, but the execution of the play by Gibson-Park and James Lowe was just beautiful, the timing was perfection. It is one thing to know these plays, but Ireland pull them off with backs and then forwards and then forwards and backs, the skill level to do this several times during a test is unbelievable. I have been watching Leinster do this from high up in the stands for many years, you can see from this vantage point the pieces moving at lightening speed coming into place and the whole 15 have their parts to play and the timing has to be spot on. This is why I go to the games, because it is just beautiful to watch. Sadly since Nienaber rush defence came and Stuart Lancaster leaving Leinster, these plays just stopped. But they turned it on in the last two games before the six nations, we had began to think that the rush defence had completely destroyed their attack, because what was happening in Leinster came to fruition in Ireland in the November series. Thank the heavens it is back and new plays are coming
The level players are playing at, at the moment is the best it’s ever been. Attack and defense. So when moves like this work it’s a thing of beauty. Love it👏👏
Brilliant post got it bang on,fair play
Thanks for the excellent analysis and the kind comments! For so many of us long suffering Irish fans this is a golden age and there is such joy in some lovely rugby flair. God bless you and yours, best of luck with the channel!

Cheers mate appreciate it! Ireland rugby is fantastic to watch at the minute👏
Dan Sheehans try was spectacular as he started the move with a blind pass and then passed a 25 yarder and kept running to support Lowe it was class movement.
Absolutely!! JGP support lines for his try was unreal too
@ I was mostly a football guy growing up but Rugby is a such a great game to watch this weekend will be epic !!
@ HUGE!!!
Sheehan is an absolute machine. The best hooker the game has seen so far.
This riff on the SA tries is the brain child of Paul O'Connell. Love his set pieces!
LOVE IT!!! Mastermind
Thank you for your expert analysis and appreciation of what the team is striving to achieve.
Respect ☘🇮🇪👏👏
Fantastic rugby when they’re onsong👏
I think you’re spot on mate. Watching Ireland for 20 years since the days of Maggs and BOD. I wish I had stats to back up my feeling, but I reckon there is no team in the world who score tries from 1st and 2nd phase plays more than Ireland, consistently through the years.
Execution on the smart set plays is unreal. The detail. It’s beautiful
Eh New Zealand
@ obviously NZ a great team but I don’t think they’re the same beast as Ireland in terms of first and second phase attacks. Feel like their attacking plays tend to be a bit longer winded build up, or revolving around kicking battles. Lots of ways to win a rugby match
@ plenty ways to win a rugby game that’s for sure
brilliant analysis, spot on as usual !! big love from ireland !!!
Cheers mate. Appreciate it🫡
@@KickOnRugby keep up the great work 💪🏽🔥
Thank you for your ability to see 🎉inside the game. Lovely when you highlight the beauty of skilful movements on the field of play.
Cheers mate💪
Love your knowledge and enthusiasm. Subscribed.
Cheers mate. Welcome 💪
I love the fact that you just appreciate good rugby, whatever team is playing it. Too many online rugby comments saying that Ireland or whoever else are rubbish because they haven't won a world cup. Just appreciate good rugby when you see it, and be thankful when your team does step up and win. Great analysis on your channel. Well done and fair play to you. A proper sportsman!!
Absolutely!! Rugby should always come first. That’s the way I see it anyway. Cheers mate thanks for the comment🤝🤝
Great breakdown. More of these is great 👍
Also enjoy watching Ireland's play
Cheers mate. Will look to do more videos like this for sure🤝
Very apt comparison to the Hidden Player special move in SA👌🏼

No1 can break him down😅
subbed mate !! Like your videos !!
Cheers mate. Welcome🤝
Ireland rugby is buying into the hype, getting carried away. There were 3 Kiwis, all over 30 years, in Ireland’s starting team last Saturday - Bundee Aki (32), Jamison Gibson-Park (32) and James Lowe (32), plus Mack Hansen and Finlay Bealham, both Australians, so this year may be Ireland’s last chance for a 6 Nations win as few good young Kiwis or Australians coming along!
Mack Hansen and Finlay Bealham were Irish qualified from being 2nd generation Irish. The 3 kiwis were all bit part players before moving to Ireland where the Irish system improved them to test quality, actually Lowe was the only one highlighted as a residency player prior to his move to Leinster. We have Craig Casey (Murphy and Gunne behind) all similar profile to JGP. I accept no left wings like Lowe but stacked with Centres. Ireland won 3 of the last 5 u20 six nations and beaten in the u20 World Cup final last year, so if your suggesting the we don’t produce our own your mistaken
@@jaqmart look a little deeper than the surface bro… Ireland are a quality rugby nation with great systems in place to produce gun players. Schools/academy systems over there are quality. They’ll be and are just fine
We need to keep this Kick on Rugby lad quiet until after the 6N is over! Or how about some of that class analysis on France and Scotland so we can learn how to beat them
😅it’s more an enjoyment of the way Ireland play over giving anything away really
Lol you could be right, hope to fuck the Scots and French aren't listening, top notch analysis
