This points system is such a put off for fans its rediculous! Scrap the power stage and use sundays current point structure for friday, saturday & sunday but bring back the overall finish points for the rally. Its been massively over engineered to the point of stupidity that the fans and drivers are already saying this years champion won't be a true champion because of this stupidity theyve come up with, its a joke!
Part time Ogier is driving 2x better than drivers who are non stop in the cars for years. Insane talent

So Ogier wins the rally and gets what? Maximum points go to Neuville (Saturday), Katsuta (Sunday) and Fourmaux (power stage). Just shows what a ridiculous and indecipherable points system we’ve been lumped with. How on earth do you explain that to attract new fans?!
Because they allowed this dead weight Hybrid and became too expensive .Now they cone up with ridiculous points scoring to pretend it's exciting and competitive
He won the rally, got the trophy, and added to his records tally. Points are for people fighting for the championship, which he is not. The new points system is for title contenders to make sure they show up all weekend long. If you need to explain that to a new fan, simply say the points system is designed to keep a 3-day rally from being over on Friday.
Wrc is going downhill. This point system have to be changed. F1, wec, sro even dakar broadcasts are really good. And than you have this epic fail of rules, points. And don't forget ALL LIFE stages. They are unable even put cameras in the center onboard position for years like they where in the golden era.

I wish I could watch it. It's so expensive to subscribe. I've been watching rally since the 80s. But can't afford it now.
That's why the audience is shrinking which means the manufacturers are leaving.
It's not the expense it's the rediculous points system, the drivers, teams and fans have had enough of it and are already saying this years 'champion' wont be a true champion because of it. Its put every fan I know of off, the competition aspect was the draw to the WORLD championship but now theyve ruined the competition aspect with the points system most have stopped watching.
Honestly I don’t know who comes up with these regulations and rules. What boggles me most is can’t they see that EVERYONE is complaining about the pay wall and that EVERYONE thinks the point system is a joke? Rally is the people’s Motorsport and they’re just burying it deep in the ground. Change needs to happen soon! Make Rally2 cars the new category, allow stages to be streamed for free and grow back the audience.

Why? They are there to stop the cars destroying the road and leaving the locals to pay for repairs. Or just not let the event use the road in the future.

I know it looks ridiculous but these point scoring is the only way to keep the fighting on till the end. Just few cars competing for the title and only a couple of drivers able to win a competition whitout waiting for mistakes ahead

As todays spectator I enjoyed the rally, but hate to see just 3 different cars in WRC.. 15 minutes and all is over. Imagine 15 cars fighting for title ...

Its a shame we don't get a Seb vs Kalle championship fight. The 2 best rally drivers in the world being part time is nearly as stupid as the points system is
It's a way to let somebody else claim the title. With these two full time there are no chance for the others 😜

Why the hell Toyota didnt gave Team orders to give Evans the win. Up to know 2 of the part program drivers have won 2 races. Kenya and Croatia. Jezzzzzz Evans will need to step more and more. This year is the opportunity for the Championship
Because that would be wrong. Besides, the new point system doesn't care who wins anymore.

Because Seb would need to drop loads of time to make any difference, maybe he could’ve slowed on the power stage but they don’t know the times as they’re both driving through at the same time. It just wasn’t really an option on this one.
So if Ogier and Rovanperä go fulltime next year it's over before it's started ,Toyota will dominate
But seems Toyota isn’t able to pay that much unfortunately
@@dav821220 Toyota has enough money to pay, Ogier just doesnt want to race full time anymore and Rovanpera obviously got bored because he didnt have any competition, him saying that he wants to take a break is b@llshit imo because he is doing drifting and other forms of car racing
But it would not be boring, just imagine Ogier vs Rovanperä for the title.
@@pit19931WRC needs weeks of preparation then next to no down time for the whole week of the event. It would be easy to decide to have some time off to enjoy life for a change and do other events that you can turn up on the day and forget about it afterwards.

A fantastic motorsport and the most democratic and accessible of them all - and in many the ways the best of them all as well: when do you see top 10 drivers speaking straight after stage racing?! The most skilled drivers on the planet, the bravest and some of the most humble - pretty impressive and unmatched by any other motorsport racing of the same level. Croatia 2024 was another epic battle. Keep improving its broadcasting and make the videos broader, longer and even more interesting - the conflicting points system needs reviewing: it seems that everybody (F1 in particular... fast laps with bonus points, 'sprint races'...F1 is a sprint race by definition... MotoGP went down the same road... both with awkward qualifying systems) is meddling with this - the wheel has already been invented, no need to 're-invent' it : we need straightforward systems - easy to understand and fair: Keep It Simple. Elfyn and Thierry tend to prove again their inconsistency. Part-time Ogier getting the better of it and winning the Rally, but the new points system seems to be in favor of Neuville. Although he deserved it based on his Friday and Saturday performance. But today's mistake proved again he needs to stay more focused in order to be crowned champion.
Ogier got more points
Ogier was off the road more times than the other two together. Neuville damage cost him more and Elfyn just doesn’t quite have the killer turn of speed when needed. But he is far more consistent than Neuville, who will retire on one of the upcoming gravel rallies and Evans will be in the driving seat.
According to Neuville the pace note came too late for the turn where he crashed

Hes only there for the money, he made that pretty obvious going back to hyundai & after 4 rounds is behind Adriens ford.
And that's why Neuville won't be a champion, he can't have a clean rally when it matters.
Same with Evans but one of them will win because Ogier is slowly retiring and Kalle is losing interest, and Tanak has burned his bridges with Toyota and he does not have leadership like Loeb/Ogier/Neuville so he will never galvanize a team to work hard for him.
Completely agree! dont get me wrong its spectacular but the days of mcrae, sainz, makinen and the majority of the drivers knowing how to actually win a rally by keeping a steady pace once In front has gone, that's why kalle destroyed everyone in kenya because he has that mental ability, same for ogier & fourmaux is now showing it! Flat out isnt the only answer but the fia keeping rallies to short & bringing in this rediculous points system hasn't helped matters.

Loeb is sliding down in his old age, his first title was 20 years ago….. These drivers aren’t mediocre, the pace has never been so high.
@@MIEJ4 mediocre is the least you can say, numbers tell only half of the truth, count how many crashes top three drivers have each year and you will get the picture, being fast doesn't mean you are at the same level with Ogier (or Loeb) if you damage your car heavily at most races

Ridiculous points system. The fia wrc's product is the worst it's ever been. It's been getting steadily worse for last 21 years. Unwatchable! I find myself watching 80s 90s an early 00s seasons instead. It's more interesting even when you know what's going to happen. They're killing the sport. Silly hybrid unaffordable cars. Bring back the group a or early 97 to 02 wrc rules. It worked better when only top 6 got points not whole top 10! Ironically the points system was changed in 03 to make it closer yet it's had the opposite effect. Only 4 different champions since petter solberg way back in 03... I rest my case!
