I am so glad I watched your video on Happy Dust. I received a sample and performance was horrible. I waited a month and pulled the sample out this morning, and its beautiful.
I totally understand what you are talking about with Navitus. I thought it was just me. I've tried 5 from this House and Baklava Royal is the only one I can enjoy but not full bottle unfortunately. I can't seem to embrace that DNA

Hi Jackie! Totally agree with Lira, but also Dama Bianca. This winter mine was definitely stronger. I could smell it more. Affordable middle eastern fragrances definitely need to rest and oxidize a little.

I absolutely love la belle! I have the flanker too but definitely prefer the original. Also Navitus just released a 2024 sample set so that we can sample more recent releases. I also agree not every perfume needs to be a beast but I also don’t like having to bring my arm up to my nose just to smell my fragrance. Great video!

I agree some of the Navitus fragrances (even the extraits like you said) need to settle a bit to let them bloom. I’m shocked I love Venom, I think it’s the nice addition of rose and an exotic twist. ❤

I sure I hope NR musc noir rose gets better with time! It does not last on me which makes me super disappointed.
I feel like mine has gotten stronger but it’s still not super loud. I’m definitely ready to pull NR Musc noir rose out again.
I had Lira and Rouge smoking ,zero projection both, especially Rouge smoking and I had to overspray them , and as a result the bottles finished pretty fast. Chocolate queen- purchased to support Gabby , but unfortunately this was a blind purchase mistake , it doesn’t smell as a perfume , I would say it smells even after decent time as a bitter chemical spray.

I just got a sample of accident a la vanille creme de la berry and I can barely smell it :( so this makes me hopeful it will improve.
It does get stronger with time imo
Hey Ms Jax, I have some samples I was letting sit and I must say they have gotten better over time. Today I am playing with Nefs by Nishane on one wrist and Hibiscus Mahajád on the other wrist. I really didn't like them because of the leather/green notes but they have really gotten better, but still not big bottle worthy. I think the Nefs might be masculine leaning🤷🏾♀️ The other three that I STILL hate🤢😂 are Lineage and Purpose by Amouge and Chelsea Nights by Bond No 9.
Nefs is beautiful but I agree leans a tad masculine.

I decluttered my yum pistachio as it didn’t last very long even after it had been sitting for a few months. It gave me baby powder vibes, I loved the other notes just not baby powder.

I am struggling with chocolate queen and La danza also soir exclusif from navitus and gourmand coquin by guerlain. They have been sitting about a month know and I’m gna go back in and retry to see if they perform better , love all these fragrances and am willing to keep trying in hopes for better results performance wise!

Oh, Gourmand Coquin a year in will make you swoon, literally swoon like a woman on those romance book covers, lol. All Guerlains, all of them, get better and longer lasting with age. But at a year, wowza on this one. I always re-order with this in mind. Mine's in a bee, and it's not the new Feve.
I’m hoping my new bottle of Hypnotic poison might get stronger. It’s a lot weaker than I remember I only get an hour .I’ve found my Burberry Goddess was weak and now it’s amazing,,sweet and delicious so fingers crossed. .
I agree! Burberry Goddess over time became a love for me. It got so much sweeter and long lasting. I get so many compliments.

I think the only fragrance I've ever done a positive 180 on is Chopard Love, interesting thing to think about 🤔

Interesting topic! For me it's Maison Crivelli's Iris Malikhan that I bought second hand. Was so disappointed that the colour, longevity and projection was lacking compared to my sample. I've been opening the cap (mostly to inhale the goodness) for the past 5 months and I'm so happy to say that it's ready for winter here (eek can't wait!).
What do you do to help maturation? I heard one technique is to take the cap off and leave in a dark place for couple of weeks?
I spray my perfumes about 10 times when I first get them to introduce to oxygen. Then I store in a dark dry area and try to let them sit for a least a month if I can muster up the will power lol.
Have you seen the new preorder Amouage Love Delight. I have Love Tuberose and love it. I also love gourmand scents. I’m just wondering your thoughts.

Hi ! In my case it was Café Chantant from Nobile 1942 but I left it for about 1 year to get good ( not screaming ) sillage and longevity . Do you have Angélique Noir from Guerlain ? It has a better performance , at least mine is a monster but I bought some 11 yrs ago and the perfume bacame black. I live some 5 min from one of their boutiques in Paris and must say the quality is not anymore so great . The brand became more commercial than niche .
I just got Angelique Noire for Christmas and love it! I don’t have any performance issues with it. Café Chantant is on my wishlist so happy to hear it gets better with time. 💕
I've always wanted BDK Rouge Smoking but it would be a house scent not one I would want to wear outside. I don't want to smell like rootbeer on the go😅

Does anyone have this same experience with Changing Constance? I absolutely love the scent, but I sampled it and it has no longevity at all. A lot of reviews say this too. So I did not buy it, but I loved it so much. Is there any chance that the longevity of that one gets better? Is there somebody here who owns Changing Constance, to share their experience? Thanks!

I did get it and I love it. I have not tried the orientica one. I’ll keep you updated as I wear it more.
Killian love dont be shy does not last on me and I have it for almost a year, I do overspray to get a few hours of wear out of it, not worth the price esp. not for such a small size perfume.

How long does it take to macerate or mature?
This is a really great question. Maceration is the process done by the perfumer when chemically binding the oils together in a solvent (usually alcohol). Many people say maceration but what they really mean in oxidization or maturation. When the fragrance arrives to you, the perfume is already macerated. (Except with some dupe houses). When you spray the perfume, you introduce it to oxygen (oxidization) and the aging process begins. Many notes, such as patchouli and vanilla age well. So it is very different from perfume to perfume depending on the notes, amounts of oil concentrations etc to say how long it will take. Short answer : it depends on the perfume. It’s all very fascinating and a little confusing 😆 Hope this helps.

Every time I see someone compare SDV in the new bottle to the one in the old one I’ve wondered if a big part of the difference in performance was due to the age of the juice in the older bottles. Sounds like that could be a possibility after all.
