AIRPLANE OIL CHANGE | CESSNA 182

Come roll up your sleeves and join me while I complete some necessary preventative airplane maintenance! In this video I walk you through how I change the oil in my Cessna 182 and perform several other maintenance tasks while the engine cowling is removed.

Awesome video! I’ve yet to change my own oil in my 65, but this is helping me to think about it. The quick drain looks like the trick not to have to remove lower cowling too. Super looking paint job too!

Thanks for watching! The quick drain is definitely a game changer. I have pulled the lower cowling several times; it’s a pain and a two person job (at least in my experience). I do like having access to inspect and clean everything with both cowlings removed, but for a quick oil change it sure is convenient. Thanks for the kind words and happy flying!

Remove the lower cowl. Makes for much easier access, and better inspection / cleaning opportunity. Check out saf-t-cable too for really slick safety wire installs

Great help, im about to do mine for the first time. Was there a special socket for torqueing with the spark plug wires in the way, or is it just like an O2 sensor socket?
