Awesome results! Thanks for share! I will try to make a CNC Arduino based like yours. If change the pen for a blade, can cut shapes in same way?

I love that bearing holding the pen from wobbling. Excelent. It looks like it is hitting something that it does not need to on each down stroke and that is causing some unwanted noise. Lots of clicking that does not have to be there. Other than that, pretty nice. Really nice and straight lines with no flex in the pen. That is just outstanding.

your presentation is very inspiring, I'm so lucky to be here to see this amazing stuff I've been researching but maybe because of my self-study I don't have a solid background, I want to ask you a few questions. : 1/ i use arduino uno and cnc shield v3 to connect grbl , nema 17 stepper motor and a4988 ( or drv 8825 ) and apply microstepping step mode , then to get the real highest speed , acceleration and accuracy Depends on what? do i have to tweak the arduino's code, or simply tweak the numbers in grbl to the highest, because i have referenced many other videos and they use the same gadgets as me, but they hit the highest point of the speed and accuracy , do you know why they hit such a threshold ( you , for example )
I look forward to hearing from you

      Thx! :)
No need to change the Arduino code, just optimize the GRBL settings. I think it is very important to choose a good stepper motor. What I used: JapanServo KH42JM...
We have a lot of these used, 4-8 Euro/pc.
A very small gear ratio is required, here 360 degrees = 40-42mm pen movement, on the X and Y axis. This allows it to be fast and still accurate for drawing work. Due to the fast movement, the torque is small, so there are 1 motor each at the ends of the belt, 2 motors in parallel for the X axis and 2 motors for the Y axis. 4 in total, plus 1 on the Z axis.
Move a small mass in the Z axis, a small motor, make the moving mass light and perform as much Z movement as possible. I only have approx. The Z stepper moves 45-80 degrees.
This is basic. After that, the values must be optimized in GRBL. (speed, acceleration...etc.). Microsteps should also be experimented with.
The operating voltage was optimal for me between 14-18V. The motors should receive enough current that they can heat up, but not be hot. (max. 50-60 Celsius)

spring is preloaded so it doesn’t have to be very accurate. Upper dead center approx. 2mm, the bottom is about -1mm.
If that’s what you wanted to ask. :)

Sir I'm using 2xNema 17 steppers and a servo (for pen) in my cnc plotter. Using the same cnc shield but my servo isn't moving. Can you help me with this?
Also, tell me is there a way to get in contact with you? It would be a great help!

      Szia Whistle194!
A drivereid nem A4988-asak? Vagy valami korábbi verziót használsz? Nagyon tetszik a munkád! :)

      Kösz! :)

Jól látom, a szíjakat feszíted valamivel? Csúszás/elmozdulás előfordul?
