Basim in Valhalla seems like a different character than Basim in Mirage especially cuz of the completely different voice
I mean if you played mirage then you should know that the basim in Valhalla is not really basim but it’s Loki in full control of basim’s vessel
@@rjbruh1614 I guess that is true but then why doesn't basim's voice change after the end of Mirage
@@LeroyJenkins781in the end of mirage I'm pretty sure he's around 18-19 (I might be wrong) and Valhalla is set 20 years after the events of mirage meaning he's around 40 in valhalla
@nixuns Correction, he's 33 in valhalla
@@LeroyJenkins781 I mean there is a slight change in tone when Loki first awaken in basim’s body. Like when he said “how long as it been”.
You can actually find that he is religious from this one side mission.
Priest: "May Jesus bless your path"
Basim: "I follow a different calling. But i will not deny any good luck."
I really liked that whole interaction personally. That was a short, but well done side quest.
You can also find that he is religious by his saying multiple times throughout the game ''Asalaam Wa Laikum''
@iqraahmed830 It's just mean peace be upon you, you don't need to be religious to say that ,anyone who speaks Arabic can say it
Meanwhile Shay: f*ck you I make my own luck

And this is the problem, believing in lines simply because they sound cool.
How can you even make your own luck? You're in control of literally nothing in your life
Basim is faithfull
Also basim: steal
True he might be a hypocrite
But he is my favourite hypocrite
based on my limited knowledge on arabian religion, if someone's steal because he's starving; it is not the sin of the stealer but the ruler of the land (who should've provided the people with basic need).
@@BruhMoment-cs6tj but at this point he's stealing for fun bro, he is 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 artifact

Basim is religious
Also Basim comes Azan: *doesn't pray*
i like that we get to play the villian before he’s the villian gives a sense of time and how’s he’s changed makes his betrayal hit harder
I think that playing the mythology arcs in Valhalla adds more depth to Loki, and especially to Odin. As we see that Odin is a terrible manipulative person, and Loki just really wanted to protect his son. This doesn't make him morally good, but it doesn't actually make him as evil as thought initially.
His betrayal didn't hit at all these AC games are great to play for a short fun time but for a story it is so fucking shallow like the toddler part of the swimming pool
AC Rouge did it better
@@frankie380 yea but shay wasn’t a villian and it was his story of realizing what he believed in. basim story is literally him becoming a literal trickster god he had no choice but to be evil
@@yhnah1329 i agree mirage is a huge disappointment for me
Basim is my favorite protagonist and antagonist
There man someone I agree with.
I love Ezio and Altair but fuck this guy has captivated me hard bro.
He became my fav in Valhalla and now even more so.
Basim is someone i liked since the beginning. I first found out about him in the Golden city Novel, and then in Valhalla. My Personal favourite will always be Altaïr, but Basim is a close second.
Finally someone speaks the truth! Basim is a great character
I guess u can say proantagonist
i hope he becomes a protagonist again
Basim: you have a good memory
Eivor: and you have no bi-
In Valhalla, during the Cent arc, if you stay away for a bit while joining Basim and Cynebert in Folcanstan, you can catch a conversation between the two that gives more confirmation on Basim's religious views and it goes something like
Cynebert : You must try my ale, you must ! My abbey brews the best in Cent
Basim : [sarcastically] It certainly sounds worth the risk of my immortal soul
Cynebert : Ah, your God is rather a hard taskmaster ?
Basim : And your God forbids the mixing of wool and linen. It sounds to me like he's never heard of England
Sad to think that the Jinn possessed Basim in the end.
He didn't. The jinn is Odin, or just a manifestation of Loki's trauma. Basim defeated him in the end. Then, he merged with Nehal, who is a representation of Loki himself. They became whole. Basim is still mostly himself, although since he has Loki's memories, he also has his need for vengeance, and his sometimes acting only for his own goals. Although, his convictions and beliefs in the creed always remained. His sense of loyalty is also strong.
And this is why you don't go to the comments. Screw you for spoiling, you bastard
@@maxm.m.7219 do you really think in the end basim follow the rules and orders of the hidden ones ? Not that he manipulated everyone to think that he is „loyal“ to the order? Just only to find knowledge of his faith/Revenge ?
@@two_face_richiHis origin story is literally not following the rules, so I doubt it. He broke 2 core tenants, 1 on multiple occasion and he opened the vault; the whole point of that branch of the Hidden Ones 😅
Basim is a cool protagonist in mirage
I am just he turned out to be an antagonist and was defeated easily by eivor in Valhalla
I wished he defeated eivor and stayed the protagonist
Well... Eivor died, Basim is still alive in the modern day, who really defeated who...

Basim being religious is pretty weird as Islam strictly prohibits assassination as a tactic for killing. I'd argue him not drinking is more of a cultural or lifestyle choice. As a Muslim, I can definitely say that just following one or two principles of Islam, while ignoring the other principles or committing prohibited acts does not make you a Muslim.
I remembered in Valhalla in a mission in Cantenbury, Basim had a convo about religion with a monk (forgot the name) and he seems very adherent about Islam and even start to compare it with Christian teachings.
*good* muslim. There, fixed for you.
it's not, because the real assassin's are sent to die and to kill nothing said that you should fight everyone face to face plus the dagger meant as a message like they did with salah al-deen alaubi the message was easy "back the fuck of or your head" so it's not out of nowhere and they used to take months to assassinate a target and sometimes they didn't have to becuase sometimes they would let you pay a fine, the assassin's used to be a minority so of course they will have a small differences in beliefs not necessarily a lot
If I remember correctly, real Assassins were a radical offshoot of Shiites, or perhaps Sunis, dedicated to murdering those in power who would be a threat to their religion. This included opposing religious leaders and even members of their own faith. They even came close to killing Saladin, but convinced him to turn back from finding their fortress after he woke up to a knife in his bed with a note.

I don’t really buy into Basim being religious. He is fully conscious of Loki in Valhalla which would mean that he’d likely know every religion in the world was based off of him and his kind of the ISU where it doesn’t seem to really make sense for him to be religious seems odd unless ISU had their own religious beliefs I don’t know if where there was still a belief in a potential higher power than them, but everyone else who seems aware of the ISU don’t seem to believe in an afterlife.
It could be more habit than anything else, tbh. Basim was possibly religious, but he's also now Loki, too. It's a weird in-between, and he could still adhere to the religious code in respect for who he was initially reborn as.
I really dont understand how any of this works. He killed Layla and trapped her, but still is welcomed to the assassins somehow ?
I said the same thing. And everyone seems okay with it after several minutes 🤷🏾♂️
He did not kill nor trap her. She chose to stay in yggdrasil by her own accord.

Basim not bazim

Not eating pork is a religious thing it’s an Islamic thing
I’m Muslim we eat meat just not pork
Being religious is in complete and direct contrast with not only him literally being a god, and him being an assassin, the idea of a religious assassin is absurd.
No it isn't. The doctrine of the Creed doesn't require atheism. Altair was Muslim, Ezio was catholic, Conor was deeply spiritual in regards to the customs of his people, Edward was protestant, and Arno and the Frye twins are all christians. Hell, even Bayek was deeply religious, offering prayers and small offerings every chance he got.
The tradition of the haron feather was born from a religious custom.
Knowing about the Isu doesn't inherently render a person's faith obsolete. Yeah, it immediately discounts their God as the sole reason for human existence, but religion has always been more than just the God you worship. It's the teachings within the religions that give people their faith, not just in a God, but in humanity. Almost every single story in the Bible is an anecdote for some moral quandary or a way to personify a character flaw that helps people better understand human nature.
I'm not even religious and I understand that.
There is nothing about being religious that contradicts what the assassins are about, or vise versa. The assassins believe in freedom and free will, that's it.
On top of that, Basim isn't a god. Loki isn't even a god. The Isu aren't gods. they never were. The mythology of gods and monsters humans developed were a result of early humans trying to reconcile what the Isu actually were because, having been created for slavery and nothing else, the human mind was incapable of comprehending the Isu has highly advanced beings.
Basim had been Muslim his entire life before realizing he was a sage. Learning about his past wouldn't make him immediately shed the customs and teachings he'd been raised with; they were apart of who Basim is as a person. When he regained his memories, Basim didn't stop existing, his life experiences were absorbed into the being that the merger of Basim's identity and Loki's memories became.
@@redhoodie4111Ezio literally made his athiesm clear
@@redhoodie4111 ezio was not Catholic the titular assassin's Creed requires that you denounce the idea of a god, and spirituality is linked to, but not synonymous with religion, and natives were raised in a spiritual environment, they won't drop that because they're not religious anymore. True because reincarnation is not true
I don’t think Basim is a fully convicted muslim. Some people in here including my friend aren’t religious or perhaps straight up secular/agnostic despite the majority of the population is muslim, yet they still carry out Islamic traditions such as Salam and Istighfar on their daily basis.
What language is basims name in?
It’s in arabic ❤ Basim/Bassim (باسِم) honestly I don’t really know or heard of anyone named Bassim it’s not that common, at least not where I live
Basim being religious makes no sense in the story, because at that time he knows he is an isu and remembers his previous life.
Could also possibly mean the principles and cultural faith not the belief in a direct God since he is an ISU but the teachings of faith which each culture centers aroumd which serves as discipline and to better oneself

First one is false. Once he got his Isu memories back he realized there aren’t any gods as all the gods humans worshipped we’re Isu including himself
allah is an isu? doubt it. the concept of god in islam is very different from those in pagan religions. allah does not have any kind of human form, he is an absolute. the existence of isu in not at odds with islamic idea of god (or christian or jewish), if anything isu would be like angels or jinn to basim, another kind of creatures made by allah. because yes he has loki's memories but he didn't lose basim's personality and experience
If he was religious, Basim would did vengeance like that in Valhalla. Truthfully he's not, Islam didn't taught Vengeance in the first place. By just not drinking, he shouldn't be considered as a religious.

Religious ? His religion wasn't there till 1400 AD😂😂😂
The very notion of being an Assassin is the fact that theyre atheists. "Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted". They understand the truth to the religions of the world, for example Jesus was just a man who used the shroud of Eden.
If they can make Ezio, Arno, Connor, and every other assassin non-religious, they can make Basim so too. This is just Ubisoft's attempt at being politically correct. If the story was about Basim struggling with "Nothing is True" and learning that his God is a lie in this universe, than that would be interesting. But again, its a tacked on trait thats not in line with assassins of the past.
Not really, as many times throughout the game, Basim says ''Asalaam Wa Laikum''/''Wa Alaikum Asalaam'', and after completing one of the missions, some time passes and we can see Basim finishing his Sallah (Islamic Prayer).
You're point still stands though; by the end of the game, Basim may no longer be a Muslim, and therefore, become a true assassin
@@iqraahmed830 Yes the assassins are supposed to be atheists. It's literally in their creed. Ezio and Arno both have speeches about this.
And yes, thats exactly my point. Ubisoft had him keep his cultural religious sayings for the sake of inclusion and it totally clashes with the lore.
It's like if Ezio went around saying "God bless you" or "God be with you".
And I know what Basim says, I've played the game. I am familiar with Islam. My whole point is, it's out of a character for a true assassin.

Altair was against templars

Arno against templars
Jacob and Eve against templars
Bayak against order
Kasandra against order
Evor against order
All are atheist but basim is religious how? 🤔🤔
Bayek is the most religious out of all of them are you stupid?
Ubisoft just loves making people Atheist
There was an Assassin that we know of that was Religious, a bit unorthodox but religious. Sister Theodora, Ezio meets her after he needs to flee Florence with Claudia and his Mother.
There is nothing that says ALL Assassins are atheists. There’s no way every person, Ezio recruits in “Rome” was an atheist. Even Conner and the natives believed in the “Great Spirits” when he had his visions. Shao Jun was most likely 15th century Buddhist. Bayek believed in the Egyptian Gods, and referenced them throughout the story, he believed in the afterlife AKA “The field of Reeds, a place of peace where you see passed loved ones, and “The Duat” or the underworld where it is a void. Even Eivor believed in “Valhalla” which is a place of peace.
Just because people join a “Religious Organization” doesn’t mean they are religious. Some people are in it for power, for influence, or whatever selfish desire they have. Even Rodrigo ( In game ) dreaded reading the Bible, and mocked those who followed it. Even Hitler used the Hindu symbolism of Peace, and made it the Nazi’s Icon.
I would say people IN GAME, and people in life. Join or create, organizations and take actions do things they believe to better the world, or to better themselves. Just because you have good intentions doesn’t mean every actions or decision is good; “The path to Hell is paved with good intentions.”
------------
With that said. I come bearing a warning, because God loves you. God wants to save you from this life’s troubles, burdens, heartache, and pain; and if you’re entering the afterlife without God, without Jesus as your guide who protects you, as the Demons want to drag you to Hell. Then you’ll be dragged there without his Divine Protection.
God The Father, God the Holy Spirit and God the Son, has granted a way to eternal life, Heaven is for ALL, it is an open door, not a gated community.
It is FOR ALL who REPENT of their sins, and who BELIEVE: “Jesus Christ is Lord, he is the Messiah, he is the Son of God who came and died for our sins.”
But what about the pain you have had, you ask? What about the hardships? The misery, the torment. He says “I know it was hard, I know it was tough, but I am with you, even when you don’t want me to be. Let me take your pain away, give it to me.”
GOD wants a relationship with YOU, TO SAVE YOU, TO BLESS YOU, TO HELP YOU, but he won’t barge down the door, YOU must allow him into your life, and let him in.
He took your punishment of eternal death, so that you won’t have to. A life without God is DEATH. Why would God, grant you a life with him, if all your years on earth you said “I want nothing to do with you, I don’t want to be with you.” Then when you meet him face to face, He who sacrificed his Son in your place, He who gave you life, He who gave you blessing, He will say “Then go, depart from me.”
If YOU want nothing to do with him, then when you reach the end of your life, today, tomorrow or 20, 40 years later, as you requested, he sends you to a place without his presence which is Hell; Hell is Death; God is Life, Heaven is Life, Jesus is “The Way, The Truth, The Life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”
If you do not accept him as A Savior, then there is no parachute, when you’re in a crashing plane. Then someone comes along and does hand you a parachute, You say “No, I don’t need it.”
This is exactly how you sound when you deny Jesus as a savior.
Come back to God, he has a seat at the table reserved for you, and a place in his home reserved for you. To whom this reaches, this message is from God to you.
Just because they fought templars and the order doesn't literally make them atheist, bayek was against the order and he was really religious
Him being religious goes against the lore of assasins creed. The lore on assasins creed states that the humans were created by the isu people which goes against Islam, christianity and judaism. The lore of assasins creed is the problem, not basim being religious. Ubisoft made a mistake with bringing gods like loki and the Isu people etc into the story since it invalidates all of the religions. Ubisoft at it again.
Even if humans were created by isu in lore does not invalidate theology.
@@IbnRushdi it definitely does. It states that humans were not created by god but by another force
@@kujeti Yeah but how would that invalidate theology as a whole? I mean, we don't know the origins of the Isu
@@IbnRushdi because it would mean that the main religions are wrong and therefore god does not exist according to Ubisoft in Assassin's Creed
Terrible stories. Val halla and mirage have cemented the legacy in shit
This is absurd. Basim cannot be Muslim since the Creed is a reilgon of itself. Most of the Assasins were spiritual, but the Creed literally requires you to denounce God in the ceremony, and Altair, the founder of the New Creed literally writes that Christ, Islam and Judaism are all "the greatest lies ever told"
The creed is more a philosophy than a religion, and you be muslim without being religious, ive met christians who dont believe in god, they follow the religion for benefits it may bring.
Altaïr reformed the brotherhood, modifying the Creed and philosophy, after all the IRL assassins were Islamic
@@SteelZerough there's nothing contradicting about a man who was Muslim. Christian or Jewish before joining the Assasin Order. But it is mandatory for him to denounce God and the beliefs of his religion to swear before the Creed. It's reasonable for him to keep practice the tradition of the place he came from (Basim abstaining, Connor's hatchet ritual, Ezio giving catholic last rites to his victims) but must become an atheist to become an Assasin which in fact tears him away from his God and his religion. It's why Alexios and Eivor are not assasins since they still believe in God, but Bayek is an assasin because he discovers the truth and forms the hidden one and denounce his God's.
@@rayp.8364 alexios and Eivor arent assassins because they dont share the same motives. Eivor hated the Order because they ruined her life, they took away her family and threatened her existence. Eivor refused to join the Hidden ones because she disagreed with how they operated. She wanted her victories to be known, she wanted glory. She was more a sledgehammer, where the Hidden Ones were more of a scalpel or a needle.
Bayek was religious to the end, he was still a believer in his gods before he died, he still believed in the duat and weighing the hearts of dead. Alexios wasnt an assassin because what was in store of either him or Kassandra was different. Sure, they crossed paths with the Hidden Ones and Assassins, but that wasnt why they were the Keepers. The Keeper had the role of protecting the Staff and keeping Atlantis safe, thats it. Thats why they hunted Pieces of Eden down.
