This is the same I have in my workshop. Maybe, some day I will get a upgrade. I am just starting wood turning. You are a inspiration to me for bowl turning. Right now , I am just learning straight legs with cuts. Thank you so much for making videos. Ken

Nice, that's the exact same one I got last fall, minus the speed control unit. I still have to ask my nephew to make me one sometime, it's not something I could do with my two left hands.
The main reason I chose this specific lathe, was because it's one of the few with this centerheight that was within my price range. So far it works perfectly as I wanted.
There's also a bed extension available for it, which adds another 20 inch or about 50 centimeters to the length of the piece you could turn.
BUT!! Only get that extension if you (plan to) install the lathe on your own workbench instead of the special lathe standard that's available for this lathe. The reason is, that for the bed extension, you would also need an extension to the standard, but that extension to the standard is no longer produced. Some woodworking stores might still have them available, but it is very hard to find them.
Yes, my bed extension is collecting dusk somewhere until I have space for a proper workbench because I wasn't aware of that little problem. Well, it's not a huge problem to me, since I'm mostly interested in doing bowls and small spindle work for now, but if I wanted to make some table legs or stuff like that, I'd need a proper workbench first.

It certainly has served you well indeed! 1100 bowls in 3.5 years and countless other turnings. So fess up Tomislav, what lathe are you longing for now? 😎

Hope your new one is also a Record Power. The Regent is very nice and works very well. I have had mine just over a year.

Thank you very good review. I have the same lathe. Would you be able to make a video with the different chuck and jaws that you use?

    Thank you for the review!
I bet the slow start can be 'disabled' by twitching its electronics. A smart manufacturer would even add a jumper for that to the PCB.

Is this video some kind of goodbye to this lathe?
