Your a very good teacher Roger. When I get my pension I’m going to buy one, as I know how to put it together now. I’m really looking forward to the next videos when we will learn how to make things
@@mamshedproductions Hi Roger, There are some pic's of some of my first pens on my wife's F/book page under the name Dot, Ill send a friend request. No problems with lathe, it's running fine. Mike
Thank you Roger for doing this video, I am a complete beginner in wood turning and unsure which lathe to buy , but having bought Record tools in the past and know what good quality They are I also 95% decided on getting the Record 320 with variable speed , look forward to seeing more of you videos in the future .
Hi John, Thanks for watching my video, As you may understand it was a beginners guide to unboxing and it is my first lathe. I have been very pleased with my purchase and don't have anything bad to say about it. With regard to the motor I was concerned on purchase with it being 750 watt. I am used to machines with 2000 - 3000 watt motors. However I have never experienced any slowing down in any speed and I would suggest the torque increases at the lower speed. Would I buy this again? Definitely I love it and it does everything I want and at a price I liked.
hi roger, the way nearest the head stock is wider on the one side, what is the length of the wider part, and how wide is it ?. any problems with the variable speed unit ?. thank you.
Hi Mike, I will be very pleased to give you an answer but I don't understand the question sorry. Do you mean the depth of the swing or the distance between the head and tail stock? Please let me know. With regard to the variable control no issues to date. I also bought a lathe extension which extends the lathe to 48 inches - well impressed.

My DML320 arrived 16/08/2019, also my first lathe. Bought a 3 set of carbide cutters , and I'm onto my 20th pen so far. Enjoy your lathe mate.
Hi Mike nice to find a fellow turner with good taste! I would love to ser your pens and an update on how the lathe is performing.
Roger

Hi. Thanks for the video. You made my mind up for me, so I've ordered one. I'm looking forward to it coming 👍
How's your lathe going mate just about to buy one too
@@petestyerpro5584 Hi. It’s very good. I’d still recommend it. The only thing I’d like would be a longer bed but there is an extension available. 👍
