    How does the flex disc come out of the spline?

    Looking forward to you posting the Front Disc Replacement! When do you think you'll have it posted?

    Good project to tackle... I've read several MB forum posts that suggest MY 2006 W211s are notoriously susceptible to driveshaft center bearing failure as it's support can become 'wallered out' over mileage & time resulting in excessive side-to-side & up & down driveshaft play in this area so might be something to inspect while under there for front flex-disk in future. I've had one of these flex-disks disintegrate on me before on a W123 I used to have. It's appearance reminded me of how a baseball or golf ball looks at the core, just a tangled donut of wound-up broken rubber band strands shooting off in all directions & held together loosely by those bolts that run through it. Mine failed at the transmission side. It sounded like a blender on high while spinning under load but even in this condition did not completely fail prior to replacement. Glad to see W211 still in your garage. I've got a failed H3/1 alarm signal horn on mine that just started setting DTC 9078 & won't chirp when car is unlocked or locked so I will probably be tackling that this week.

      I have a judder I have been trying to fix on the E320, I had a garage change the prop with no improvement, now I am changing the engine and transmission mounts in the hope that may solve it,

    Why did you change the flex disk? You never said why or how to diagnose flex disk problems or symptoms

    Hi, Good vid! Have you done the center bearing as well? I noticed this is a 320CDI car and I'm having problems finding a center bearing for my S211 320CDI (2004). Would you happen to have the part number for it?

    The prying is what destroyed your center bearing.

    I shall examine mine tomorrow to check whether mine were changed when I had the prop shaft replaced

    16Nm or 60Nm?

      I sounded more like 16Nm, but logically 16 is way not enough, so it must be 50Nm. :)

      It's 60nm for M12 bolts. 60nm for likely any Mercedes newer than say a W124

      M. GUENNOUN why not need the mark I have taking one mine no mark so no problem so far ... !

    • @billjones8640
      @billjones8640 Рік тому

      You only need alignment marks if you split the two halves of the drive shaft to maintain the balance.

      @@fabianolan5651 because you werre lucky and put back the drive shaft in the same position. Without marking you took the risk of unbalancing and generate lotrs of vibrations and premature wear of the brand new flex discs, you don't want that!... Intervention on a drive shaft = marking is mandatory! But you are also free to go the amateur way and do whatever you think is best for your car! ;)

      MB procedures say mark your drive shaft, so you mark it, every mechs in the world use marks when they work on a drive shaft, try the professional approach
