After all the struggle through Scream and Boca, they ended up where they began. In regards to Gahyeon's stickers on her face, I've read that it represents the fake persona people put on for social media, pretending to live in a utopia.

This was the last chapter in their Dystopia trilogy (scream,boca,odd eye) In boca interviews members were emotional when talking about this topic, especially gahyeon who cried, didn't want to lose this job, the fans. Happyface ent. don't have any other big groups when compared to dreamcatcher, but you can never know what's going on behind closed doors. We must get them a first win this time!

Dreamcatcher are such a powerful group, it never ceases to amaze me how to continue to grow and become stronger performers. I feel your pain man. CLC had terrible promotions, no money put into them and they are AMAZING. If we lose Dreamcatcher too, there is no equity left in the world. Quick update from the Kpop world: *CLC is disbanding piece by piece, Elkie filed a letter of resignation by the end of 2020 because the label did not pay her for a gig in a drama and allegedly CUBE said to the girls that it's not going to support the group (I guess Helicopter was really their last urrah). Since then Sorn had to abandon the studio (inside CUBE) where she was filming for her UA-cam channel and Yeeun, the rapper, cancelled the word "CLC" from her IG profile after going the length of taking part of a reality show (Good Girl, she did great there BTW) to grow and represent the group so it really seems to be the end; *SuA and CLC's Seungyeon filmed a dance performance video, a very seductive one I must say. Let me know if you're interested in doing other videos as I could make up a list, for example I know about a group that shot a full fledged fighting scene as an intro to their music video.

Really cool song indeed and very powerful imagery in a way, art pieces, the use of black almost as a canvas, explosions of colors, fancy close ups, and a scene where the girls are almost swallowed by darkness except for a light that descends on each member, I don't wanna spoil it too much because I think it's one of the coolest scenes I've ever seen in a MV. The video itself is not the biggest production ever when it comes to budget but it's a tremendous improvement over their previous OOPSY, you might want to check out that too to see what I'm talking about (the teasers for that release were deceiving too as the girls were embracing really big guns and there wasn't even a hint about that in the actual MV); *Cherry Bullet - Love So Sweet. Honestly I just love the song, really sweet but with a very distinct "Billie Eilish-esque" undertone in the beat which adds flavour (sweet but not sugary). The camera constantly forces a zoom in and out from the scenes as in entering and exiting a room, it's very centered so it might get on your nerves but I also think that the sets (rooms) are really well decorated so there's that; *"BTS (방탄소년단) 'Black Swan' Art Film performed by MN Dance Company". There's no BTS in this video but as the title says it's a performance video from a Slovenian dance company, united with the lyrics that talk about the fear of losing the your artistic side it's incredibly beautiful and meaningful. Of course the dancers go on portraying a black swan that fights against the darkness that might swallow it. The location chosen for the MV is really cool too; *"NATURE (네이처) “어린애 (Girls)” M/V 무삭제 Ver. (Uncensored Ver.)". Horror, gore and trepidation are all elements that are just hinted but kind of feel as powerful as if the scenes were finished. The song is really good too and sadly was almost forgotten last year, it talks about how in front of love you can reverse to being an innocent child, easily gullible and completely subjugated to the emotional rollercoaster which can bring you to really dark places (this last part I don't remember in the lyrics but I see at an extention to them in the MV); *Precious - BEBE. This is the video I mentioned, the one with the extensive fight scene, both in the intro and later on iirc, it's shot as if it was an action movie which is really cool IMO; YooA (Oh My Girl) - Bon Voyage. Outiside shots galore, really beautiful sets too. The girl looks amazing (what a surprise huh?) in every single outfit and overall it's a very aesthetically pleasing MV; *Hwasa - Maria and LMM. Both video are stunning for different reasons, they both touch on mental health and hate comments so the imagery and the meaning behind is very powerful, both great song but LMM is on another level; *THE9 - Spynx. They are a Chinese group that came out from a talent show, lots and lots of talent but their first song is kind of questionable. The video is kind of cheap compared to the hype around this group, so I wanted to ask you for your opinion on that. I mean I know there's covid and all of that but man...; *JYP feat. Sunmi - When We Disco. Nostalgia project; *Sunmi - Noir/Heroine/Lalalay/Borderline. All masterpieces: Noir for the theme, Heroine because it's very theatrical, Lalalay is just an incredible piece of work in my humblest opinion, Borderline is a relatively small project but the song itself is incredibly deep and unsettling and raw as it talks about her experience with borderline personality disorder and how she felt about it. Sunmi always delivers (I know you might have already seen those but still I had to mention them); *Iz*One - Panorama. Their best MV to date (their production team came a long way when it comes to MVs, I guess success brought them a much better budget), there are some really cool sets, shots, decisions made; *AKMU - RE-BYE. It could be any of theirs but I think this is a good start. They are a sibling duo and they are incredible musicians under YGE and YGE always delivers when it comes to MVs; *Alexa. She has a whole cyberpunk concept where she is a cyborg fighting the bad guys and trying to regain her memory/identity if I understood it correctly. Her company is known for their well shots videos (it's a video production company that branched out); *Woo!Ah!. They are a favourite of mine and they are sweet AND sugary 🤣. Their second comeback is called "Bad Girl" and the video is like the cutest acid trip (for real) I've ever seen. Their selling point is that they have some kind of MV for each of the songs they have released so far, including an animated one for their b-side 빙빙빙 (Round & Round). It's a long list and obviously I'm not asking to see a reaction for all of these but I did appreciate each an every artist/MV on here so it would be cool if you could check them out. Be safe!

Would you ever consider reacting to older Dreamcatcher videos you haven’t done analyses on, like the earlier horror-themed Nightmare Arc (Fly High, Chase Me, Good Night, You and I, Piri, etc in storyline order), Deja Vu, What, and maybe even their Japanese releases? I don’t usually watch reaction videos, but I actually learned something new each time I watched your Dreamcatcher analyses. Props for insightful commentary, and it’s refreshing to hear opinions from a fellow adult working professional following this group. Would love to hear your thoughts on the interesting cinematography in their older MVs and your general thoughts on them if you ever considermaking reactions to those, and it may also help the group with additional exposure!
MY INTERPRETATION: There is no perfect world (Utopia) or that the world that you thought was perfect may not be, the importance of maintaining the essence of yourself and not try to change to fit in a superficial world, of possible appearances and lies; the encouragement to see the world with more sincere and deeper eyes (Odd eye), which can also be appreciated when Jiu covered his eyes (When the fake appearances and the temptations are too much and you need to avoid them). They also talk about the lies and pain of the sophisticated world where there is a bright appearance of light and sweetness, but many times it is not sincere and following that path leads to a world of despair and pain because one lie leads to another, generating a circle of endless anguish.
I have seen no information regarding this, so this is just me speculating and thinking about it while writing it down! I assume they either resigned after minx or the minx members contracts are ending soon, and gahyeon and handong have two extra years? usually a contract is 7 years I believe, so the members who debuted in 2014 in minx would have a contract until this year, but idk how it works if a group disbands and redebutes under the same company? I assume they resign a contract which means as they debuted in 2017 they still have at least 3 years to go! and if they didn't resign a contract, then technically jiu, sua, siyeon, yoohyeon and dami's contract ends this year, and gahyeon and handong's in 3 years. but I don't know for sure, I haven't seen any information on it anywhere, once again, this is just me speculating!
As far as I know they haven’t re signed yet so what you say is correct. The 5 members from Minx would have their contract up this year. We knew there would be at least one more comeback (this one) but after that is unsure for now. I do think if anyone leaves it would be their choice. The company needs them.
That point about having the chorus be the hook: agreed 5 billion percent. The chorus should be the best and catchiest part of the song, and here, it is. I was already playing the segment of the chorus from the teaser trailer on loop for days before the MV even came out, that's how freakin' good it is. Leez & Ollounder are composing legends.

I really feel you about buying the album. I spent all afternoon trying to order the new album. I went through 3 Korean storefronts and finally ended up on Amazon.com which actually had the album for preorder from Amazon through their Amazon Export Sales subsidiary. I don't live in the US, but it was still cheaper that shipping from Korea and, unlike the Korean sellers, I could pay with a credit card and get delivery through my post office rather than a courier company. It still takes at least a month to get these albums delivered and Covid has slowed everything even more.

Since you mentioned it I'll chime in on how I get my DC albums. For digital I am an iTunes man and that's just as easy as searching for the album by name on the iTunes store. For physical I go through ktown4u as they are a large and reputable business that specializes in exporting albums internationally. I've used them pretty exclusively for the past couple of years and my stuff always arrives safely, well packaged and they ship quickly.

What happened (and this isn’t a great excuse) is that once I saw how everything was fast cutting with scene changes, I realized I’d have to stop every 2 seconds to explain shots which would make things too long. You know I realized that Scream is based on past (historical set), BOCA on present (current society style kinda thing) and Odd Eye on future (futuristic, cyber punk). I'm having brain farts but I know there are other words to describe this orz.
I think they wanted to blend with the background on stage sometimes (notice Yoohyeon and Dami black/white clothes while the background was black with white strokes) and then the background sometimes changed to something more illuminated and colored.
Remember to stream the mv from their own channel AND on Genie Music always here on UA-cam! You can watch one then the other and after that a random video before starting over
Only Dreamcatcher and their company know what their contracts state. Their situation is very complicated because 5 of them debuted as Minx in 2015 then as Dreamcatcher in 2017 with 2 more members. Contracts are usually 5 or 7 years and each company has it's own policy. If they signed 5 year contacts when they debuted as Dreamcatcher then they will run out the end of this year. If it was 7 year contracts then it would be 2023. Nobody knows except them, but Dreamcatcher have stated many times how happy they are together doing what they're doing and the company would be fools to let them go when they're becoming very profitable. So there's no reason for their contracts not to be renewed if they expire this year. Happyface really doesn't have any other artists as popular as Dreamcatcher.

the last thing I read about their contracts is that they're all signed until 2022/2023. They're the most profitable group from HFE right now and the popularity increases every comeback, if nothing bad happens I'd say the renewal is most likely guaranteed.

Jiu has mentioned several months ago that their contracts will end soon, but she also said that they want to keep staying as DC, so I guess they are extended already. Especially since they are growing like crazy since Deja Vu. Pre order growth of the Road to Utopia album compared to last comeback on ktown4u is around 60%. Sales on other webshops, MV views etc. also grew drastically once again. Besides DC is hard carrying Happyface since D1CE (their label mates) is unfortunately not successful at all. Because Jiu's statement was sometime around summer last year, because they have a good relationship with their company and staff and since they want to keep making music, I don't see why they wouldn't extend the contracts. You really have the best girlfriends out there. I especially liked your bias here.
Although Minx was 2015 Dreamcatcher started in 2017 and groups usually sign 7 year contracts. So we probably have two to four more years of Dreamcatcher?

Hey paul What is the proper fps for recording dance video? From what i see it's better to record in 30fps because it makes the choreography's dynamic/texture way more appealing But i have seen several fancam of idols dancing recorded in 60 or higher fps and it doesn't look good to me,is it a mistake or i am the only one who doesn't like when dance video are being recorded in high fps
FPS in tv/film has a lot to do with broadcast standards. (Film is often shot at 24fps to get that cinematic look, but TV otter requires 60fps or higher.). Generally speaking for streaming which will include TV broadcast, 60fps will typically be used. For dancing specifically, I’d recommend the higher fps

*Cherry Bullet - Love So Sweet. Honestly I just love the song, really sweet but with a very distinct "Billie Eilish-esque" undertone in the beat which adds flavour (sweet but not sugary). The camera constantly forces a zoom in and out from the scenes as in entering and exiting a room, it's very centered so it might get on your nerves but I also think that the sets (rooms) are really well decorated so there's that;
*"BTS (방탄소년단) 'Black Swan' Art Film performed by MN Dance Company". There's no BTS in this video but as the title says it's a performance video from a Slovenian dance company, united with the lyrics that talk about the fear of losing the your artistic side it's incredibly beautiful and meaningful. Of course the dancers go on portraying a black swan that fights against the darkness that might swallow it. The location chosen for the MV is really cool too;
*"NATURE (네이처) “어린애 (Girls)” M/V 무삭제 Ver. (Uncensored Ver.)". Horror, gore and trepidation are all elements that are just hinted but kind of feel as powerful as if the scenes were finished. The song is really good too and sadly was almost forgotten last year, it talks about how in front of love you can reverse to being an innocent child, easily gullible and completely subjugated to the emotional rollercoaster which can bring you to really dark places (this last part I don't remember in the lyrics but I see at an extention to them in the MV);
*Precious - BEBE. This is the video I mentioned, the one with the extensive fight scene, both in the intro and later on iirc, it's shot as if it was an action movie which is really cool IMO;
YooA (Oh My Girl) - Bon Voyage. Outiside shots galore, really beautiful sets too. The girl looks amazing (what a surprise huh?) in every single outfit and overall it's a very aesthetically pleasing MV;
*Hwasa - Maria and LMM. Both video are stunning for different reasons, they both touch on mental health and hate comments so the imagery and the meaning behind is very powerful, both great song but LMM is on another level;
*THE9 - Spynx. They are a Chinese group that came out from a talent show, lots and lots of talent but their first song is kind of questionable. The video is kind of cheap compared to the hype around this group, so I wanted to ask you for your opinion on that. I mean I know there's covid and all of that but man...;
*JYP feat. Sunmi - When We Disco. Nostalgia project;
*Sunmi - Noir/Heroine/Lalalay/Borderline. All masterpieces: Noir for the theme, Heroine because it's very theatrical, Lalalay is just an incredible piece of work in my humblest opinion, Borderline is a relatively small project but the song itself is incredibly deep and unsettling and raw as it talks about her experience with borderline personality disorder and how she felt about it. Sunmi always delivers (I know you might have already seen those but still I had to mention them);
*Iz*One - Panorama. Their best MV to date (their production team came a long way when it comes to MVs, I guess success brought them a much better budget), there are some really cool sets, shots, decisions made;
*AKMU - RE-BYE. It could be any of theirs but I think this is a good start. They are a sibling duo and they are incredible musicians under YGE and YGE always delivers when it comes to MVs;
*Alexa. She has a whole cyberpunk concept where she is a cyborg fighting the bad guys and trying to regain her memory/identity if I understood it correctly. Her company is known for their well shots videos (it's a video production company that branched out);
*Woo!Ah!. They are a favourite of mine and they are sweet AND sugary 🤣. Their second comeback is called "Bad Girl" and the video is like the cutest acid trip (for real) I've ever seen. Their selling point is that they have some kind of MV for each of the songs they have released so far, including an animated one for their b-side 빙빙빙 (Round & Round).
It's a long list and obviously I'm not asking to see a reaction for all of these but I did appreciate each an every artist/MV on here so it would be cool if you could check them out. Be safe!

Would you ever consider reacting to older Dreamcatcher videos you haven’t done analyses on, like the earlier horror-themed Nightmare Arc (Fly High, Chase Me, Good Night, You and I, Piri, etc in storyline order), Deja Vu, What, and maybe even their Japanese releases? I don’t usually watch reaction videos, but I actually learned something new each time I watched your Dreamcatcher analyses. Props for insightful commentary, and it’s refreshing to hear opinions from a fellow adult working professional following this group. Would love to hear your thoughts on the interesting cinematography in their older MVs and your general thoughts on them if you ever considermaking reactions to those, and it may also help the group with additional exposure!

MY INTERPRETATION: There is no perfect world (Utopia) or that the world that you thought was perfect may not be, the importance of maintaining the essence of yourself and not try to change to fit in a superficial world, of possible appearances and lies; the encouragement to see the world with more sincere and deeper eyes (Odd eye), which can also be appreciated when Jiu covered his eyes (When the fake appearances and the temptations are too much and you need to avoid them).
They also talk about the lies and pain of the sophisticated world where there is a bright appearance of light and sweetness, but many times it is not sincere and following that path leads to a world of despair and pain because one lie leads to another, generating a circle of endless anguish.
I have seen no information regarding this, so this is just me speculating and thinking about it while writing it down!
I assume they either resigned after minx or the minx members contracts are ending soon, and gahyeon and handong have two extra years? usually a contract is 7 years I believe, so the members who debuted in 2014 in minx would have a contract until this year, but idk how it works if a group disbands and redebutes under the same company? I assume they resign a contract which means as they debuted in 2017 they still have at least 3 years to go! and if they didn't resign a contract, then technically jiu, sua, siyeon, yoohyeon and dami's contract ends this year, and gahyeon and handong's in 3 years. but I don't know for sure, I haven't seen any information on it anywhere, once again, this is just me speculating!
Their company has stuck with them and let them grow organically. I hope they let the magic continue
As far as I know they haven’t re signed yet so what you say is correct. The 5 members from Minx would have their contract up this year. We knew there would be at least one more comeback (this one) but after that is unsure for now. I do think if anyone leaves it would be their choice. The company needs them.
That point about having the chorus be the hook: agreed 5 billion percent. The chorus should be the best and catchiest part of the song, and here, it is. I was already playing the segment of the chorus from the teaser trailer on loop for days before the MV even came out, that's how freakin' good it is. Leez & Ollounder are composing legends.

I really feel you about buying the album. I spent all afternoon trying to order the new album. I went through 3 Korean storefronts and finally ended up on Amazon.com which actually had the album for preorder from Amazon through their Amazon Export Sales subsidiary. I don't live in the US, but it was still cheaper that shipping from Korea and, unlike the Korean sellers, I could pay with a credit card and get delivery through my post office rather than a courier company. It still takes at least a month to get these albums delivered and Covid has slowed everything even more.

In regards to their albums, I've been ordering them from KTOWN4U. The sales reflect on Gaon and Hantao (spelling?) charts which further supports our ladies. Since you mentioned it I'll chime in on how I get my DC albums. For digital I am an iTunes man and that's just as easy as searching for the album by name on the iTunes store. For physical I go through ktown4u as they are a large and reputable business that specializes in exporting albums internationally. I've used them pretty exclusively for the past couple of years and my stuff always arrives safely, well packaged and they ship quickly.
So great to see all seven ladies back together again.

You’re totally right to feel cheated Stephanie. What happened (and this isn’t a great excuse) is that once I saw how everything was fast cutting with scene changes, I realized I’d have to stop every 2 seconds to explain shots which would make things too long. You know I realized that Scream is based on past (historical set), BOCA on present (current society style kinda thing) and Odd Eye on future (futuristic, cyber punk). I'm having brain farts but I know there are other words to describe this orz.
I think they wanted to blend with the background on stage sometimes (notice Yoohyeon and Dami black/white clothes while the background was black with white strokes) and then the background sometimes changed to something more illuminated and colored.

Only Dreamcatcher and their company know what their contracts state. Their situation is very complicated because 5 of them debuted as Minx in 2015 then as Dreamcatcher in 2017 with 2 more members. Contracts are usually 5 or 7 years and each company has it's own policy. If they signed 5 year contacts when they debuted as Dreamcatcher then they will run out the end of this year. If it was 7 year contracts then it would be 2023. Nobody knows except them, but Dreamcatcher have stated many times how happy they are together doing what they're doing and the company would be fools to let them go when they're becoming very profitable. So there's no reason for their contracts not to be renewed if they expire this year. Happyface really doesn't have any other artists as popular as Dreamcatcher.

the last thing I read about their contracts is that they're all signed until 2022/2023. They're the most profitable group from HFE right now and the popularity increases every comeback, if nothing bad happens I'd say the renewal is most likely guaranteed.

Jiu has mentioned several months ago that their contracts will end soon, but she also said that they want to keep staying as DC, so I guess they are extended already. Especially since they are growing like crazy since Deja Vu. Pre order growth of the Road to Utopia album compared to last comeback on ktown4u is around 60%. Sales on other webshops, MV views etc. also grew drastically once again. Besides DC is hard carrying Happyface since D1CE (their label mates) is unfortunately not successful at all. Because Jiu's statement was sometime around summer last year, because they have a good relationship with their company and staff and since they want to keep making music, I don't see why they wouldn't extend the contracts.

What is the proper fps for recording dance video? From what i see it's better to record in 30fps because it makes the choreography's dynamic/texture way more appealing
But i have seen several fancam of idols dancing recorded in 60 or higher fps and it doesn't look good to me,is it a mistake or i am the only one who doesn't like when dance video are being recorded in high fps
FPS in tv/film has a lot to do with broadcast standards. (Film is often shot at 24fps to get that cinematic look, but TV otter requires 60fps or higher.). Generally speaking for streaming which will include TV broadcast, 60fps will typically be used. For dancing specifically, I’d recommend the higher fps
