All animation was key framed from scratch inside the source filmmaker. No mocap or pre existing animation was used.
This animation was created for the 2012 Saxxy's held by Valve software. Thank you to everyone who voted for the entry. I hope over the coming months this channel will continue to entertain.

@@Youmanmerc5 + the prolonged mutations of special infected would have killed them quickly, and default infected would eventually die. from what we see, they don't even sleep, drink water, and of course, don't eat (outside of people, which isn't sustainable since there's limited people and not a whole lot of nutrients to begin with) as you said.
even without the possibility of starvation (which is always a possibility), they would still be pretty screwed.
@@IamaPERSON it goes for the L4D universe as well. They're actually still human, it's just the green flu makes them see the living as "demons" as how it was put, putting them as a constant fight mode instead of flight.

I love how the characters move in this animation, they look like they really are in a gunfight. Like how Zoey crawls around and overpowers that one guy near the end or how Francis swipes that man's gun.
The terrorist character is in a game called cs:go
Given the time frame for the SFM, they would have likely had their fair share of bandit encounters together, something an apocalypse produces when order breaks down.
i like that he pictured that francis is now the responsible one after bill`s death and louis becaue the easy going one. and zoey... being zoey is a badass chick

I love how you put in part of people overshooting their trajectory like when Zoey had to scoot back to get out of the line of fire and when Francis didn't put his clip in correctly. That shows true dedication and realism. Good job, man.

I love how serious Francis looks in this video. I like to believe that since Bill's death Francis has straightened up and tried to fill his role as the stern leader of the group.
It was implied in the Comics that Bill's death had severely shaken him up.

@@turtlebob2312 In left 4 dead is a campaign called The sacrifice. Team tried to get to the islands in the keys. There was a sailboat by the bridge, but on the other side before the opened water. They had to activate generators to higher the bridge so they could use the sailboat. When the bridge was almost higher up the generator by the bridge stopped working. 3 or 4 tanks were comin at Bill, Zoey, Francis and Luis. Bill after few seconds decided to jump down, trew a molotov at one of the tanks and restarted the generator and saved his team before the tanks made it to the bridge, but in the end he was hit in the face by one of the the tanks. But his team manage to get to the islands safely.
wish there was a sequel where it can involve one of the others like nick, coach, rochelle, and ellis. wonder what would happen

You don't often see realism in these videos, but Francis' slightly awkward shooting, Louis' reload miss, and Zoe's overcompensation for movement made this feel more real than usual.

For me (I'm not very good at animation and SFM, but want to say my opinion), animation is very good, shooting, moving... But little bit slow then they fight. It looks like they're not fighting. Like they're playing.

My take on this, the infected are either all dead or to the point of dying. Francis, Louis and Zoey all known carriers are hunted by people to make sure they won’t spread the disease. But due to being battle hardened zombie killers, they are able to repel such attacks.

Six years later, these fight scenes are still gorgeous. I really like Zoey's animations a she quickly tries to shoot, realizes her gun is empty, looks at the gun, looks at the guy charging her and attacks. It's very fluid and you can totally follow her train of thoughts.

This made me realize that L4D was one of the only zombie franchises that don't have survivors as enemies at atleast one point. The closest thing to a survivor in the game is a zombie named "infected survivor"

1:13 - 1:17 Zoey's sliding too far and painfully go back is awesomely animated, I'm impressed. The idea itself is well-thought too in a SFM video

@Murraythis your animating is fantastic! You are one of the few people that I've seen that can get realistic movement in their clips. The sound effects aren't always great, but overall very professional :)
I imagine this takes place where other survivors become more of a threat rather than the infected, but given how the green flu works, a better assumption is its a fun and really good animation with existing Valve Characters, regardless, really great sfm, probably one of the best ones I've seen in terms of quality
