What an amazing music video, filled with details and lore! Oh man, this makes us so excited for Arcane Season 2! Check out our full discussion on our Patreon!✨ Early access and full reactions to League of Legends videos will at Patreon.com/meeshanddee
In the world of Runeterra the Kindred (the lamb and the wolf) represent the sister essences of death. The Sheep's arrow offers a quick escape for those who accept their fate. The Wolf hunts down those who flee their end and brings them to a violent end with his relentless jaws. My interpretation is that because of the wounds she has on this aftermath war scene (which is a very important Noxian invasion on the league lore) she sees the representation of the wolf/death is coming for her, somehow she fights to survive... thats where we get all the trippy scenes of her battling, seeing herself on a throne willing to do anything to survive so the lamb intervenes, and marks the baby for death instead. She’s pregnant with Mel’s brother Kino (or maybe is Mel we don't know), who we learn in season 1 died after crossing a powerful man, that means Kino saved her life but she couldn’t save his.
Some corrections: It was confirmed that she is pregnant with Mel here and that the svenes in the video are only visions. Also, all of the figures like Panth and Swain are just an image of them. They aren't real.
Im glad you guys did your own analysis. Still shocking to see Arcane fans notice so much without ever touching the games. Love this fandom and love you two. Keep up the good work! Only two more weeks!!!
It's so awesome that you guys easily recognize the champions, regions and symbology of League without playing a minute of the game! Meesh is always soo fast at catching the little details that I only notice once I've seen the Necrit recap haha.
Personally I interpret everything in this as a near-death hallucination that mixes Ambessa's actual memories with fantastical beings from folklore she knows, such as Kindred and Pantheon and those weird blue creatures, all of which culminate in her remembering that it's her family she fights for and so she cannot die on that battlefield. She has to live for them As for the memories and metaphors, I think it's likely we're seeing a peaceful childhood in Shurima, which was destroyed by some sort of battle during which Ambessa had to make a choice between dying as an innocent (the lamb she was carrying near the beginning) or surviving by becoming a warrior (the wolf talisman she grasps at the end). At some point after which she gets recruited by Noxus because that is a place where, with enough strength and cunning, she can amass great power and prestige and build a better life than her own for her children
@@LG-lk5es Pantheon is the name of the Aspect of War, it can mantle anyone. But this one in the video is before the one we play (which is Atreus, a human who was mantled by Pantheon but stuff happened, Pantheon died and Atreus claimed the power as a human and is now Pantheon again, but mortal.
4:15 This is definitely Kindred (Basically Death in the world of League of Legends). They just look very different mostly likely due to the woman, Ambessa a.k.a Mel's mother, being from a different nation
This song is actually on the Arcane Season 2 playlist before 'Come Play' Also, just to explain some of the video, Ambessa is actually pregnant when she is shot with the arrow in the stomach. The wolf who comes to her is actually the kindred who come to collect the soul when someone is very close to death. The Kindred have the Wolf and the Lamb and the wolf usually comes to those who resist dying to see if they are worthy to live by trying to end them violently. As you can see, Ambessa won the fight so the wolf went away without taking the soul. All the scenes in between like Ambessa giving up the lamb can suggest many things like #1 Giving up her innocence and embracing being a ruthless wolf #2 Her giving up on dying peacefully and instead fighting to survive #3 Her sacrificing herself for the sake of her glorious future OR #4 Sacrificing herself for her future children. That is all I could think of at the moment. These scenarios are what I thought when I watched this but just adding one more thing, the statues I think represent her past, present and future....
@toxincloud1629 What I meant by winning the fight is that she didn't give up and that is what the wolf part of the Kindred respect because they want to see how much you are willing to live.
Can it also possibly symbolize her fetus's death and her having to let go of the grief to become a hardened warrior in order to protect her future children?
@@CiscoPanch It could but I think it is either Kino or Mel in there because I don't think the fetus inside her died, rather she fought death to save it. Also, as far as I think, the Medardas are going to be connected to Black rose in the future so for sure that child inside her has some special magic or something. We were shown a glimpse of the black rose in the trailer so I do think that would definitely be a ccas. Maybe the golden magic thing that we see going through the fetus' veins is what saves Mel if she is alive. This is just what I think and I'm pretty sure different people will have different speculations and we just need to wait for Arcane S2 to see what's canon.
Necrit already did a video to explain the lore of this video. Not sure if you've already seen it as well, but I just love his lore videos. Also, great reaction! It's so great to see how easy it is for you to recognize people/champions and places of Runeterra and remember a lot of the lore. 🥰 Can't wait for your reaction to Kindred voice lines. The hype is real!!! 😅
This is the only reaction channel where the reactors are actually invested in the lore and understanding what is going on. I mean, the only channel that I know. These girls are really good
@@RosarioTijeras-g9othere are plenty different channels who are same as if not more invested into learning the lore. But none the less I love de and meshes channel aswell
I need to know why Kindred offered Ambessa a second chance life. Also love how Kindred takes on a different visual take since Ambessa is Noxian. For those who don't know, The Kindred serve as the Grim Reaper of the world of League of Legends. The story goes that Death was so lonely that it split itself in two, so it would "always have a friend". One half is the Lamb, and the other half is the Wolf. Lamb represents the peace in acceptance of death, wielding a bow to deliver a swift end, and Wolf represents the violence of rejecting and running from death, being literally a beast that mauls anything that tries to escape. You only see them when they've decided your time has come. (One last quick note - Lamb feels little but knows everything, while Wolf feels everything but knows little.) At 3:22 looks like we have Swain who is the eye of noxus and grand general of Noxus, Pantheon is the one with the spear and shield she was sparring with, he is from Mount Targon and the other is Katarina who is also from Noxus. All 3 of them have also faced death in their own ways and came back alive. And the dessert place I assume is part of Shurima. Wonder if Ambessa is originally from Shurima. Shurima use to be the biggest nation in Runeterra and has a lot of its background based off Egyptian lands. I'm assuming the introduction is on an Ionia beach and the baby is either Mel or her first born son.
Well part of Shurima's coast is controlled by Noxus, and in the new lore it says that her family were traders on the shuriman coast (probably explains why Mel has a lot of gold in her design because she likely grew up partly around the shuriman coast and doesn't identify with noxus anymore) Also in her new lore it shows that the battle isn't in ionia it's noxus and ambessa is pregnant with Mel. Anyway my theory is that kindred wasn't after Ambessa, they were after the unborn Mel, (the wolf looks at Ambessa's baby bump before looking into Ambessa's eyes and that's when the trippy battle stuff starts), so my theory is that Ambessa was fighting to protect Mel. Maybe she was going to die too but she was going to die after Mel so kindred was like "bet fight for you and your child and we'll let you carry on." This also explains why at the end we see the golden energy flowing through fetus Mel, a similar way to how her back shined gold in the end of arcane season 1.. COINCIDENCE? maybe, maybe not, Riot pays a lot of attention to detail though so it must mean SOMETHING.
Something to keep in mind about Kindred is that they are seen and represented in every culture in a different way. The champion splash art that see for Kindred is just how Demacians interpret them especially in their theatre plays. The Spirit Blossom Kindred skin is how Ionians would see them and this video shows the Noxian version.
I think this trailer is a strong hint where the journey will go after Arcane - strong Îonia/Shurima/Noxus hints in there. Besides that it looks like a strong promo for the next (expensive) skin set xD. Nexus vids about these teasers are always worth watching - you will find your theories about the champions you identified confirmed. Great video as always from you - I'm looking forward for the next one (maybe a reaction to Necrit's lore vid?)
Ambessa is not from Shurima. She is from Noxus but she was raised in a city in Noxus that trades a lot with Shurima which is why they wear so much gold. Also that person with the shield is Pantheon in his new skin. All this is basically Ambessa surviving a trial she was put through by Kindred. She passed but in exchange for her survival, her child will die instead. Idk if u could tell but she was pregnant right there
great reaction as always - your motivation to understand what is happening and getting almost everything right is just special 😁, the new (riot games like) intro tho? fire 💥
Since its a new character all the league players are in the same boat trying to decipher this video lol. They released the Ambessa story on Universe so that now helps and I assume we'll learn much more about her in a few weeks.
Shurima does have a lot more going on than just Darkin, Necrit’s video goes over the idea that these people might be followers of Xerath followers because of their blue skin. As for the dark figure, that is 100% Kindred. Each culture has a different representation of Kindred, the one we see in game is the Freljordian representation of Kindred, while some skins are for other regions, like the Spirit Blossom skin is what Ionians see. Noxians worship the wolf far more than the lamb, they believe a violent death is the only honorable death to have, so the dark figure is the Noxian version of the lamb, and instead of offering a peaceful death, they offer Ambessa a heart of the wolf, to keep fighting.
imagine we would live with this state of the internet and riot games 50 years ago. with artists like Tina Turner being an option for music videos, her style just reminded me of her. this is like how people back in the days felt like when a new james bond theme song came out haha.
I think you might like Necrit video "The Lore of Ambessa's Cinematic Explained", its 30 min long and it explain every little details in Blood Sweat & Tears music video
Kindred and other champions that are spirits/demons may or may not exist in a physical form, it’s more of a concept that comes from belief. And Kindred, being a concept, looks different in certain regions - like Noxus, where peaceful death (lamb) is not an option so the wolf becomes the main image. Btw to this day we all wonder if Shaco is real.

Shes pregnant in this... shes not clutching the arrow shes clutching her belly... also i think its Mel's older brother who died... I think Ambessa is a shuriman who was taken up by Noxus. Kindred signifies death also wolf. Wolves are a big part of noxus and Ambessa in Arcane talks about wolves.
she's pregnant as they showed in the video and i hope that's mel not kino, so if it mel as the last video the eye of the baby are shine, that's a special thing right?
