this story is basically that girl was cupid you could tell cause in the elevator (side a) she looked at the guy and then he fell in love with girl and they started making out soo then she saw this guy that she was attracted to and she wanted to be with him but there was a problem she was cupid so she was like a ghost no one could see her so the only way she could be with with him was for her to give up being cupid and that was at the ending (side a) she was in the rain alone and you saw her she was smiling a little cause she was happy that she could now be with the guy then the guy and her were a couple for I think a year and one day in side b they were about to cross and meet each other but then you saw a man behind the guy and that was another cupid but remember since she was also cupid before she could still see him but no one else and then he looked at the guy and unfortunately he now was attracted to the other girl and the girl was sad cause she did so much just to be with him so yeah that was the story your welcome if that helped a little ❤
It's all in the painting of Cupid and Psyche.
I've posted this in other comment sections but this is basically their take on the story between Eros and Psyche from Greek Mythology except the roles are reversed gender wise, Hoyeon(Eros/Cupid) is longing for the love humans are capable of and sees Micol(Pysche) and falls in love with him but he can’t see her, that’s why she’s staring at him awkwardly in the first part. Her standing in the rain is symbolizing her “cleansing” herself of her godlike status and becoming human so she can experience love. Tony(Aphrodite) sees Hoyeon loving a mortal man and totally erases her from his mind making him fall in love with the other girl and brings her back to her godly status as it’s against the rules for an immortal to love a mortal human.
NJ themselves are basically the guardian angels as you said who don’t interfere with mortals and immortal relationships
According to Hanni, 'Get Up' is a teaser for what kind of music to expect from them for the next comeback, full RnB album.
Listening to this song 'ETA' while driving is so satisfying.

Let's break this story down if you please. First there is this super important painting in the museum. It's called "L'Amour et Psyché" (1817) by François-Édouard Picot.
The whole MV revolves around the story of this painting: Eros (Hoyeon) falling in love with a human called Psyché (Micol). But Eros' godly nature forbids him to fall for a mere human so he is soon called back to his duty by Aphrodite (Tony Leung) that won't let this situation happen.
NewJeans members seem to be fairies, chérubins or guardian angels, witnessing the events without interfering.
When it comes to the scenery, two moments are particularly significant to me:
- When Hoyeon undresses herself, she is naked under the purifying rain that delivers her from her godly nature. This is how she became part human and thus visible to them.
- When Hoyeon and Micol are at the pedestrian crossing and Tony erases every loving memory from Micol's, both Hoyeon and Micol are crossing a symbolic barrier. Hoyeon goes back to the realm of the gods where she belongs and Micol loses his recollections of her and comes back to what his life once was, before Hoyeon.

The director of the music video has already revealed the hidden meaning of the eta MV, but I don't know if it will be fully known to overseas fans.
eta talks about a lot of misinformation in a smartphone and how dangerous it is to create another rumor and easily believe them.

i read in one comment that the ETA MV it’s a fantasy for the girl who has been cheated, she unlived her boyfriend and when she was ready to drop him off on the cliff the alarm sounds and the dream ends

It's a modern adaptation of Pysche and Eros I think 🤔
Regarding ETA, when paying attention to details, we realize that everything happens in Lea's (the person driving) mind.
She knows her boyfriend is unfaithful, tries to cope listening to NewJeans which helps her in this difficult moment and can't stop thinking about what this man could be doing right now with another woman.
We know for sure NJ members aren't her real friends since they are literally everywhere along the road wearing their professional mics and HF monitors on them. They appear in the car (as the boyfriend does) to symbolize that they're always close to her, music-wise.
In the end Lea drives to a cliff symbolizing an abrupt change in her life, the shirt of the unfaithful ex being in the trunk shouting "he's dead to me"
Yess, we should’ve known from the start when newjeans told her they have to “go perform” because they are literally music performers!
